My mother came here(the customer service is always much better here than in Flagstaff) and drove up from Camp Verde after finding out there was a fraud block on her account(she's had identity theft problems in the past) and she couldn't change anything online or by phone on her account. I had my first visit/experience with the Prescott Social Security administration office and it was great! My walk-in visit was on 3/5/2026 at 3:30pm. I needed to submit a withdrawal of my application form and was hoping they could enter it into the system before I received my first benefits check. The security guard greeting was pleasant and instructed me to sign in on the computer. Within 3 minutes of signing in, Julie called me to the window to assist with submitting my form. She was very pleasant and took my form to see if a technician could enter it into the system before the office closed. She came back within 5 minutes to inform me everything was entered and I'm all set. I was in and out of the office in less than 10 minutes. I needed to get a replacement SS card and I have an online account and I am drawing benefits, but I could not request a new car online. Should be pretty simple I thought. I completed the replacement card application and sent it in with a copy of my AZ DL. Six weeks later, the packet was returned because I was required to send in and original driver's license or passport. I called the office on Marina and was given the scripted information on the phone when I asked why I couldn't just make an appointment and bring in my documents for the much needed verification process. The representative continued to tell me that if I was a foreign national I could get an appoint to help in the process of getting a card. The office says it is closed due to the Covid-19 issue, but is open to a foreign national. How does that make any sense. This agency needs to review and update their policies and practices. Also, if someone has an online account and receiving benefits this should be done via the internet, like everything else in the world. read more

My husband and I, with some trepidation, decided it was the right time to apply for SS benefits. Our wait time was less than 25 minutes before we met with a representative. We were pleasantly surprised with the friendly service provided by "Susan ". She made us feel comfortable with the process and patiently answered all our questions. She also asked us the questions needed to ensure we received all benefits for which we qualify. Our meeting to complete the application was about 30 minutes; total time spent at the SS office without an appointment was approximately 60 minutes. I drove down to the Social Security Administration office on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 pm and found that they have been closed since 12:00 noon on Wednesdays. I work for the Federal Government. How do I get a full time job that only works 31 hours per week? Sounds to me that the Social Security Administration office in Prescott is skimming the taxpayers by working 31 hours per week and charging for full time services of 40 hours. I guess I have to go back when I absolutely know they are open. read more

It is over an hour drive for me to get there and back, and both times I learned NOTHING nor did I receive any true assistance. Pretty sure I might have seen the same SS "specialist", a man, both times, but if not it was certainly the same disinterested, dismissive and impatient attutude with no information I needed, just dumping a book of info on me.
