We arrived at 9:30 and had to walked around outside and observe the outside exhibits until they opened at 10:00AM. Once inside, we sat for a presentation by a very engaging employee. NASA sent the teachers a video to watched prior to our visit, so the students had some interesting questions for our host. After that, that had about an hour to explore the exhibits. Many were hands-on. Our students loved it, and had a blast. It was nice that we had the whole museum to ourselves. The cost for admission is free for everyone, not just for field trips. They are closed Sundays and Mondays. I plan to come again on my own. The first Saturday of each month they do a rocket launching. Kids can bring their own, or buy one from the gift shop which I would have liked to visit. Next ti

That said, I had a really enjoyable time at GSFC as a visitor. Highlights of my visit included the dinosaur print (who would've thought -- esp. since it was dug up relatively recently, within the past couple decades!), the Nobel Prize from John Mather, the Hubble Space Telescope gallery (which featured many replicas or spare parts from the actual space telescope) and control center (where scientists send commands to the space telescope to make it take various pictures), and my personal favorite, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope that is in assembly phase in the clean room. You can see it behind the glass without entering the clean room. Of course I stocked up on GSFC-specific merch from the gift shops. Really cool place to check out!

I've…read morebeen here plenty of times but since I've been standing around killing time, I've actually had a moment to "look" at the interior. The building has interesting architecture. It's a 5 story structure where one side is completely glass and open to the center of the interior. There are historical displays and art that line the wall on each level. While standing here, a citizenship swearing in ceremony has just taken place. These new US citizens were very proud to hold the American flag and take pictures with their family. I helped take photos of three different groups so they could all get in their respective pictures together. As I write this, my heart is filled with pride for those who go through this process and choose to be citizens of the United States of America, while others who are born here take citizenship for granted. If you happen to be in Greenbelt and you want to experience pride for your country; along with witnessing the joy of newly made citizens, stop into this courthouse between noon and 1pm. I believe they take place here every Monday.

The courthouse itself as an interesting building with a giant atrium. Anyone can enter, you just have to go through the metal detector. Parking is free. There is a small cafeteria inside and it is worth visiting just to take a look around at the architecture and some of the artwork. As well, the trials are open to the public so stop in and take a look at how your tax money is being spent and maybe get an interesting view of a criminal trial.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, HORRIBLE STAFF, AND HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT…read more I went to go and receive information for burial assistance for my father who passed away. I went in and the security guard and lady who worked at the front... had such a grating voice, they were so loud and unprofessional. I feel even worse for the people who are English as a second language speakers, who make up atleast 30% of the population in PG County (probably even more) who are receiving this type of service. There's only one way to fix this issue and it's to fix it from the inside out. Is this the reputation that PG County needs and wants? As someone who was born and raised here, I am just appalled at the service. Elected officials needs to know that there are people who are clearly UNHAPPY at their jobs and that government offices are hiring UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE.

For any of my previous reviews (under the name, "Viv) on Social Services, please the Google review…read morepage for Social Services Hilton (Baltimore, Maryland) where I gave an in depth explanation of my previous experiences. Issues that I've had with Social Services escalated to the point of contacting Maryland Congressmen because I had no where else to turn. Since then, it's been a theory that there's some kind of vendetta held against me which is hard to dispute with how my cases have been handled since. It is September 24, 2021 and as of September 14th my TDAP case was closed because according to Social Services, "You failed to apply for SSI as required." I received a letter of denial from Social Security on September 11th and immediately reapplied for SSI online. After doing so, I submitted proof of my new application claim to MyDHR. The website Social Services and the Department of Human Services insists everyone use. This isn't the first time Social Services has immediately closed my case after they found out my claim for SSI was denied. They did this same action earlier this year and not only was I told I had to reapply for TDAP AND SSI, but I was told that I should not wait to reapply or appeal my SSI claim because my case can be pulled up and closed without conversation. What I fail to realize is, when did this new rule come about? When you apply for TDAP or SNAP, you are given a start date and an end date. Before that end date, you're required to fill out any information for redetermination so your case can be decided on. I applied for TDAP in July. My start date was July 2021 and my end date was June 2022. 2 months later, however, my case is closed again. What is the purpose of benefit start and end dates when Social Services can just cut you off whenever they feel like it? Because of my past experiences with Social Services, I no longer contact them when something goes awry. Instead I contact someone of higher status because that seems to be the only way to get something solved or get anything done. There's still no way to directly contact your case manager about any of your cases. The number that they put on your case papers to "contact your case manager" is a number to Social Services customer service, they're liable to cut you off and leave you high and dry (which plenty of people have pointed out on their Google review page) and there's still not enough employees working so someone from Baltimore County can be handling a Baltimore City case. I say all of this to not only get it off my chest but to also help or warn anyone who might be dealing with the same thing. If you are having continous issues with Social Services and don't see a solution in sight, take that matter to the higher ups. Continue to speak out about what you're going through on any platforms you can. Social workers take on their position but a lot of them don't uphold the definition of their job. They're supposed to be there to help people, to care for human beings and the less fortunate. Not to condemn or demean someone for their unfortunate circumstances.
