I have been coming here for my pedicures recently and just wanted to submit some feedback…read more I have had a lot of pedicures done and the pedicure chair is comfortable, however where you rest your feet for the pedicure is not... its plastic and there is no cushion. After getting my pedicure done my foot was hurting from having to be rested on that area for over an hour at an angle. I am contemplating coming here again just due to that, most chairs have a cushion where you lay your feet and although it a small detail it is uncomfortable for the client. Other than that everything else was great and the techs are very nice just wanted to give some feedback. Ty!

it makes me so so sad to write this review because i was originally a ginormous fan of "the nail…read moreboutique," but after the service i received last week, i feel that i have to say something. last friday i had an appointment to get my prom nails done at 2:30 PM. when i arrived, i waited for over 45 minutes to receive my service. i was never offered water or anything (which honestly isn't a big deal but i just felt it was worth mentioning) but was also never really acknowledged. i almost felt like they forgot about my appointment. when my service finally began, i showed my nail tech my inspiration picture and she was confident and excited to recreate my vision. however, what i left the salon with is far from what i asked for. i left with a flower that is sloppy, none of the petals connect, and that has a big red circle with black lines, which is nothing like what i asked for. beyond that, i felt like my french tips were somewhat rushed and a bit sloppy. i don't expect perfection by any any any means, but i just generally felt neglected as a customer and a bit rushed once my service began. beyond this, by the time monday came, which was 3 days after my initial appointment, one of my nails had fallen off. this was a full acrylic set that i paid over 93 dollars for, and less than 5 days later, they were already falling off of my fingers. again, i feel really bad writing this because i dont want to tarnish their reputation or make them seem like a terrible buisness, but im just really unsatisfied and upset with the service i received, and really frustrated that i spent close to 100 dollars for a service that does not meet my expectations. i know that 100 might not be a lot, but im still a teenager in high school, and i work really hard at my job to make that money, so losing that much of my money is just hard. i just would advise that if you go here, you definetly keep your designs simple, and make sure to go at a time when you know they won't be busy so that your appointment is not rushed.

When I told them that their website listed $29 for the pedicure, they said something about not having had time to update the website due to the weekend. At that point, they should have honored the $29 that I thought it was going to be with a caveat that I would have to pay $35 next time. But no such offer was given. I felt like this was false advertising and I have to call them out on this. Furthermore, this had to have been the worst pedicure I have ever gotten. I could have done a better job painting my own toenails which I think I'm going to do from now on instead of paying $35 for some whack job sloppy work. The photo I posted of my big toenails shows the horrible paint job. Granted, I took this photo 1.5 weeks after I got the pedicure, but the sloppy paint job is exactly what it looked like when it was freshly painted (minus the growth from the cuticle area). I can't believe I paid $6 more for the worst pedicure of my life. Sorry, Polish Nail Spa, I will not be coming back.

She has a great energy, she is so knowledgable, and has top of the line equipment from Europe (before it even gets to the US many times), treatments are so relaxing, and her products actually WORK. K, now if you want the short novel: To be honest I was skeptical to get a treatment because it's the Wild West when it comes to ingredients and there's so much crap out there, plus my skin reacts to so much... BUT. I just had my first treatment with Spela and I'm sold. I have always struggled with very dry skin and I also have lot of food allergies- (especially gluten). Despite being super conscientious about what I eat and what I put on my skin, I kind of resolved that my best skin would always include redness and bumps on top of the dryness. Then, in the last two months, I got a new member to the club- I developed some serious issues with the edges of my mouth being constantly cracked and then my skin all around my mouth basically cracking off. gross I know. I hadn't told Spela any of my gut issues or allergies and she read my face like a book- immediately pointing signs that out that my gut must be very upset with me lol and my gross mouth situation was peri oral dermatitis and possibly a B12 deficiency (which I know I have). She was immediately so encouraging we were going to fix it all (if I promised to do my part of the work- she was very clear on that lol). She sent me home with a regimen and I'm not kidding, it's only one day/ 2 regimens later and my gross mouth is already like 50% better and my skin is glowing. I can't say my skin has ever felt "nourished", and that really is the only way I can describe what my face feels like. Overall, her whole space and the experience was so relaxing. I'll circle back in a couple months with an update- I finally have hope I can have control over my skin :)

But, because there were only two employees there was a bit of a wait. We told them we could come back, but they urged us that they had time. The women work really hard and I feel badly giving a negative review, because the main issue was the lack of staff and support. It took over 2 hours from start to finish for a mani/pedi and by the end I was so ready to go that I didn't even fully finish my nails. Once your hands and feet are partly painted you're sort of stuck (which may be on purpose). By the time I left, my nails were not the color I wanted, and my toes smudged, but because it had been so long and was past dinner time, with other people waiting, I was just ready to be done and go home. I'm sad to say that Win Nails did not win me over.

I wish my camera had captured what a beautiful color this is. At least you can see the exquisite work!

There are so few things women do specifically for OURSELVES. We're always filling up our schedules to maintain the house, fulfill our professional duties or be super mom. Amirite, ladies?!! Not too long ago, I vowed to start doing something for myself at least once a month. So much of what I was doing FOR EVERYONE ELSE took a toll on my mind body and especially my skin! I asked a few friends for the best skin magician around and LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE FRIEND SAID, "SUMMER!" Ladies, holy crap. The entire experience with Summer transforms my being. It'll be the worst week or month and as soon as I enter the spa, I instantly relax. It's amazing. And once she starts working on my face- forget it. Pure bliss. Like, I died and went to heaven! After the first session with her, people started asking me random questions like, did you have something done? Are you losing weight? Were you on vacation? Um, none of those things! It was the GLOW Summer gave me! I have had facials and peels before but I have never met anyone so dang intelligent with ALL THINGS BEAUTY AND SKIN! SHE KNOWS EVERYTHING! Every month since then, this is a MUST for me, and some months I go to her every couple Of weeks. Forget any other "treat yoself", this is the ultimate in taking care of yourself. I can't say enough about Summer. I am a registered nurse that takes care of people for a living. It is the career I chose because I love what I do and genuinely love helping people. What a breath of fresh air to come to know people that share that same love and passion for their patients, clients, customers!! I met Summer on a whim at a salon when I wasn't even her client. She overheard a conversation I was having about a skin concern and my fear and frustration. She interjected and asked if she could take a look and thought she may be able to help. This was at closing time, prompted by her, offered to a total stranger. She went beyond just scratching the service of the problem. She troubleshooted, researched, offered suggestions and ultimately saved me from a lot of discomfort, expense and embarrassment. A bit dramatic you might say? NO!!! Not when it comes to our skin, appearance and comfort. That first visit changed my life and built on a great trust and friendship. (Let me add that she didn't even accept payment that evening). This place is spotless, the staff is amazing and the esthetician makes miracles happen. Ask for Summer. I had horrendous acne all over my face. I was hesitant to start taking a pill so I decided to try this place as a last ditch effort. Within a couple of treatments I noticed my skin clearing up. First of all, let me start by saying if I could give 10 stars I would. I've had a handful of…read morefacials in my lifetime, some were low-end sketchy Groupon deals, others at super swanky resorts (i.e. Pelican Hill). Yesterday, I experienced the most luxurious relaxing facial at Trena Kaye Skinspa. A friend from south county had recommended her and I've been needing some TLC for my skin lately. It's hard to find a spot that's effective, safe and doesn't cost hundreds of dollars. The last one I had at PH, I left with my face glowing, but also with the distinct feeling that the snobby aesthetician just treated my head like something to be sanded. In this case, Trena made me feel lovely and well cared for the entire time. Before we started, she explained all of my options and recommended the Epicuren three layer facial. She answered all of my questions and when I asked about possible allergic reactions, she popped out her binder and listed out every ingredient. I was impressed (some spas don't even have safety data sheets and when asked whats in what I get the reply: "oh don't worry about it". Well it is my face- so yeah I'm worried.) I went with her recommendation of the three layer facial that has a tightening effect. As far as masks go, pretty standard brushing on layers. The first layer is quite a bit "spicy" but Trena kept checking my comfort level. But as each layer dried, surprising additions were her soothing massages and hot towels for your arms and legs and the cushy bed she has you lay on is heated - overall very relaxing! As far as long term results go, only time will tell but right now my face is bright, has a bit of a glow and feels so smooth! I'm very happy with this experience. Afterwards, Trena explained everything to the last detail, gave me tips on aftercare and she even gave me a few samples to try out of emulsions and a green tea mask. The location of the spot is a little tricky if you're coming from anywhere in central OC because it's like you're driving to the edge of the world. Its a long drive off Alicia. Once you enter though, it is a small dimly lit sanctuary. If you're deciding between spending $100 for a so-so facial or you're not sure about the quality or professionalism just go ahead and spend the extra 50 and get an all-star VIP treatment from Trena. She does not rush, she is safe, hygienic, professional, courteous and super knowledgeable about all things skin care. I believe she uses high quality products. I can't wait to go back and try the lactic acid peel facial.

She tests the wax on a small area of skin before starting to make sure the temperature is comfortable, and she explains how she never double dips, which I greatly appreciate. Very clean! She takes her time, and the pain was very fleeting (what pain?). I'm going to address two main things, The service started out okay but then shortly after instead of nice massage movements they started light slapping on my face and I don't personally like that which made me uncomfortable, at the end of the service they put a leg compressor and a face mask on and left the room for what felt like forever, so long that I started counting how many pauses in between songs which was 8, even if a song is 3 minutes long that's well over 20mins. I went to the front and paid for my service and sunscreen because I didn't enjoy the service but the product was nice. I still tipped because I know what it's like to be in the beauty industry working for tips. I reached out to the private line which I assumed was the owner cause it was sending me personal texts about rescheduling to give some feedback because I didn't want to put my girl on the spot and make her uncomfortable. I wanted the owner and her to have a private one on one coaching moment with the feedback that I left. You can read the messages listed above, but long story short it spiraled to such a point where instead of just giving private coaching, they had her try and call me to apologize, which is both embarrassing for her and myself and completely unprofessional. If you go to a restaurant and don't like your food, you don't see the manager, bringing out the chef to apologize to you right? they just fix the food and that's the end of it. I felt like they were completely targeting her and trying to make it seem like I was doing the same and they were telling me that she was ashamed which I was not trying to belittle her. I was just trying to share private criticism about not leaving someone in a room for 20 minutes to just lay there with a face mask on and getting too much slapping movements on the face which was making me uncomfortable. I would absolutely never go back just based on the way they treat their employees. On top of that they try to make it right with a $75 refund which I said that I would accept because I drove an hour and a half away and they stopped messaging me when I said I would accept so now they're not doing that either. I can never support a business that tries to make their employees feel small when they make a mistake and embarrass them. Good products or not these people are still people at the end of the day and trying to put them on the spot to call and apologize is crazy When I was just giving private feedback on something the made me uncomfortable.
