Linh did my keratin treatment, she was extremely flexible with her schedule and took me in immediately. It was my first time doing the treatment, she walked me through each step of the process; really gave me peace of mind I was in good hands. She was very upfront that keratin will not make my hair perfectly straight which I greatly appreciated. After the treatment instantly made my hair feel so soft, shiny, and healthy. Not too sure how I feel about this place yet. Went in on a 2PM Sunday afternoon, for walk in. Service was good, everyone was really friendly. Prices were about right - 10 for a classic mani, 17 for basic pedi, 5 for callus removal. The eyebrow check in is a great deal The reason I feel sub par about this place - I feel like the did a rush job for my mani and brows. Mai worked on me and she is really good at BSing things that aren't as important. Base? One or two swipes on the nail - isn't the purpose of base to protect the nail so ideally the whole nail should be covered in base no? Hmm. Well base is to be covered so it wasn't as big of a deal as when she did top coat. She skipped spreading the top coat over my entire nail.. I know she is perfectly capable of spreading the color evenly so what gives? ): Eyebrow waxing was also sub par. She probably would have fixed the minor details if I asked.. so maybe thats on me cause I didn't bother. I'm open to giving this place another try. My twins and I visited here not only did they do an amazing job on my girls the lady did a fantastic job on mine. I had acrylic put on for a wedding and I cant stand acrylic. Since they where fresh, she filed it all off replacing it with a gel filler. Two weeks later and my nails still look amazing. Sad that they need to be redone from out growth. Actually two weeks later and my twins regular polish looks amazing! We have found our little diamond in the ruff! The salon is clean and inviting. They talk to you and not each other. I discovered Beauty Time by a happy accident, but I'm so glad I did! The salon looked very clean and well-organized. Linh was my stylist and she was very sweet, careful, and attentive. The shampoo/conditioner she used smelled so good! She shampooed, cut, styled, blow-dried, and even curled my hair -- all for $30, which is almost unheard of in Lake Forest! Even when she had a walk-in customer during my hair cut, she did not rush with me, despite the fact that she was the only person there at the time. Based on the other reviews, I thought I'd give this place a try. Maybe the trick is you need to be seen by Loann because Lihn BUTCHERED my hair. I went to Douglas J. Aveda Institute, so I have some idea of what I'm talking about, I know technique, and this was sloppy work all around. Started with my consultation. She asked me what I wanted and I had two pictures with me. One for cut, and one for color. She hardly glanced at either. She never touched my hair to check out texture, whatever. She never got out hair samples to talk about the color I wanted. She just went back and got a color and got to work. She never sectioned my hair at all, just pushed it forward over my face. She didn't use foils but instead used Saran Wrap. Freaking Saran Wrap. I took a picture of this too. And at this point, it's not like I can just walk out. By the time I realized what she was doing, she had bleach on the back of my head. Her sloppy application got it on my shirt and ruined my new shirt. She rinsed my hair out and brought me to the mirror. This after just applying straight lightner/bleach mind you-- so my hair is bright yellow/orange. She starts cutting and blow drying. I spoke up and asked for toner. You don't go light and not tone. You just don't. It looked like 1980's trailer trash hair. Again without consulting me for the level of toner, she scoffed then went to the back and started mixing. When she came back out I had to ask what she was doing and what color she was going for. Loann came over and helped choose the toner. I wish she would have helped with my cut too. She then left so back to Lihn the butcher. So, as she's applying toner in my hair, her next client arrives. So, she moves me to the next chair over and proceeds to work on both of us at once. So unprofessional. My hair got rinsed and after I'm just sitting there, waiting for this other person to get their hair finished up. The color came out much better after the toner, but the fact that I even had to assert for toner is ridiculous, and the product application is so messy, I would have had better results doing it myself. Then the cut... A good even cut is dependent on good sections. She never sectioned my hair. She had already started cutting my hair in the back before the toner, then after my hair was rinsed and dried, she dry cut my hair by just pulling up random pieces and making a cut. The hair cut is visibly uneven. I've been growing out my hair for the last year, and it was finally to the point that it would have been able to have a cute style. Looks like I'm wearing it up with lots of bobby pins for another 6 months. She flat out said to me, "oh well, it will look better curled." Yeah, because curls will hide her crappy work. I paid and left. When I got home, I quickly realized it is beyond salvageable. It's truly awful. I am so embarrassed. I want my money back. read more

I have also gotten the 3D permanent eyebrow makeup done as well and it looks awesome! It's not too light or way too dark, it's just right. I grew up around the corner and used to come here consistently for my haircuts. I really enjoyed the cuts and service. Lin was always so sweet. Fast forward at least 10 years or so, and I got a gift certificate to use so I came in from out of town to use it. Lin remembered me! I was pleasantly surprised. What a great memory. The first time I came here with a groupon. I don't recall who did my cut (sorry) but I was very happy with it (long layers). She also did highlights/weave and it looked okay. I went a second time today to get highlights and lowlights and I am more than satisfied with the outcome. This time the highlights look much more natural and are closer to the root than before. The lowlights play nicely with my natural color and the highlights & I am VERY happy with the final result! Linh did my hair today & she is excellent. I came here after seeing the Yelp reviews. I have had a few bad experiences lately with getting a gel polish change. I can say, I have found my new place! ANNA is awesome. She filed my nails, buffed them and even pushed back the cuticles to ensure the paint job turned out perfectly. After she wiped them off when she finished polishing them, she put a very nice oil on my cuticles and massaged it in so they wouldn't be dried out. I will definitely be back to see her!!! read more
