I decided to try a place closer to home. The top of the detergent dispensers had tons of mold. I was looking for the attendant to show them but there was no attendant the whole time I was there. No restroom. Also 25 cents for 5 minutes for the dryers. It took $3.50 to fully dry one load of laundry. Whaatt?? I will not be returning here. read more

My husband and I had a debacle with a laundry service app (after our washing machine broke and parts are on back order) so we had to re-wash our giant pile of laundry at a laundromat - not ideal as two high-risk individuals during a pandemic. Well, Sock Hop was as safe as could be! We went at 5:00 am to avoid contact and risk, and it was immaculately clean and no one was around. We were able to get in and out quickly, using multiple machines with ease. The fact that all of the machines accepted credit cards was such an asset so we didn't have to handle coins! (They have the huge monster machines for $8, large for $6, and regular for $4, so we were able to have a variety of options.) The cycles were quick, the machines were in great shape, and the whole place was well cared for. I would highly recommend Sock Hop and would definitely go back, especially to use the big machines for bedding! read more

The cleanest laundromat around with the most convenient hours. Sweetest attendant Brandy. When I had an issue, the owner was very nice and fixed the situation as best as possible. The price of the machines are expensive as the rest but I love the giant machine and getting all clothes done at once. It's worth it IMHO. They even offer services for them to do your laundry for you. My kids love the claw machine and win every time . My only wish is a vending machine for soda, water, snacks. I definitely recommend this mat for Milford residents. read more

Due to my dryer being out of commission at the moment I have been coming here recently. The price is right here only 25 cents for 5 minutes in the dryer. The dryers are high powered and quick to dry even a large load of laundry! I have only had to use 25 min at the most for my clothes. They have a wash club where they do your laundry for you all you need to do is drop off and pick up your laundry. This place is very clean and open late. They just require no one in the building after 12am and once it hits 11pm if you go out you can't get back in. I feel like that's very reasonable to keep this a safe place to go. They provide many different size machines including extra large washers and dryers. I recommend here if you need a clean, safe place to do your laundry. read more

My girlfriend and I recently moved from NYC to Milford. On our first weekend in our new home we quickly realized that our combo washer-dryer unit was not equipped to handle the volume of laundry we had, and it was already 9:00pm on Sunday evening. We loaded up all of our laundry and headed to the Sock Hop Coin Laundry hoping to be able to finish everything by the midnight closing time. When we arrived, we were immediately impressed by the quality and size of the machines. What would have taken an entire day to launder in our home could be done in two loads using their medium-sized industrial washer (and it could have been done in one in the largest unit if we didn't separate whites and colors). The wash cycle was incredibly fast (23 minutes total!) and 40 minutes in the dryers was more than enough time to remove any traces of dampness from all of our articles of clothing (including towels). All in all, we completed nearly three weeks worth of laundry in a little over an hour. The machines were very reasonably priced and the owner was on hand throughout the night to answer any questions we had, even catering to each one of the patrons on their TV preference in the waiting areas. There was also a shopping plaza right down the street so we were able to get some errands done while we waited for our clothes to dry. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this laundromat to anyone in the Milford area. read more

I have done my laundry here several times in the last year plus. I have never seen it dirty or unpleasant in any way. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. The machines are all clean, relatively new our at least obviously well kept and there is a good amount of washers and dryers. The facilities are well lit, the bathroom is not the typical "public" restroom, it's nice, large and clean. read more

There is zero customer service. I walked in, was looked at and not addressed by the employee. I said hello, she mumbled a response and proceeded to count her drawer. When finished with the coins at hand she could have helped me. Instead she finished counting the drawer. I understood that she probably didn't want to lose her place so I continued to wait. When done counting all of the content of the drawer she continued to ignore me and began summing the amounts. At this point I left. Let me explain to you m'am that the figures you had written down on that paper would remain there and not change while you addressed me, the customer, allowing you to finish up the adding after helping me. My time is valuable too and helping a customer is a simple best practice in running a business, not rocket science. I won't be back and I will be sure to spread the word. read more

I am fairly new to the area and needed to do some spring cleaning which would require a washer and dryer with a much higher capacity than mine. I went on line and saw the great reviews for Sock Hop so decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly greeted when I arrived. I was offered assistance on using the machines (not very techie I guess LOL). The items -- blankets, curtains, etc. came out sparkling clean! I was so pleased that I came back the following week with other items that I have been holding off cleaning and got them done too. This time I was even offered assistance from one of the patrons to help carry the items to my car. Love this place -- friendly, clean, efficient!! Highly recommend it. read more

Freezing inside. I don't know why they don't have any heat on when it is 6 degrees outside. Otherwise, very nice laundromat. Very clean.

Local laundry spot. Usually very clean, staff is friendly and helpful, and owner seems very nice. Over time I'm noticing it takes more quarters to dry my clothes than usual and the washing machine have mold growing inside them. I told the woman working and she tried to clean it with a dry paper towel. I don't know how that will help but I'm sure they'll be on it!! read more

I have been coming here (New haven ave location) since I relocated from over six months ago. The staff is great and the service is even better. I drop off my laundry in the morning and they Wash, Dry, and Fold it for me typically by the end of the day or even shortly after. Also, another bonus that I personally love is the $5.00 off every time I spend $100. They are truly awesome! read more
