Awesome service and the sod was probably the best I've ever seen! My only complaint is they dropped it curbside which doubled the work installing. No one called me before delivery or told me you need to request it be set in place. So if you want it placed across your property male sure you ask for that. We tried to schedule 2100 sq. ft. of sod to be delivered. First their harvester broke, then their loader broke, then they tried to reschedule us on a day they were closed. 3 weeks later, they only delivered ~1800 sq. ft. of sod and one pallet was incomplete and full of scraps that we couldn't use. Sarah in customer service told me she'd take off $100 for the missing sod but that we could totally patch together the pallet full of scraps they sent us. Absolutely terrible service and product. Edit: Tim from Sod King has since reached out and replaced the missing/unusable sod delivered by the farm. I've updated my review from 1 star to 3 stars. read more

Retail sale of sod lead to problems with supply, timeliness and quality. I had to wait over two weeks and when the product arrived 20% was old dried-up and damaged pieces. When I asked for a refund for the damaged portion, instead of crediting my credit card, I was told that I would get a check in the mail. Not very professional..... read more

I was told my sod would be delivered between 5 AM and 11 AM. When I ordered the sod, I told them I had a shared driveway and needed the sod delivered to either the driveway or at the end of the shared driveway. I was told this was not a problem, and I could coordinate with the driver when the Sod arrived. The Sod was delivered between 6:30 AM and 7 AM. The sod was dropped curbside 200 feet from my home. Once I saw this, I called Sod Kings at 8 AM when they opened and asked if they could come back and move it to the location I was told it would be delivered to. Andy told me he would call the driver and see if they could get it moved. Andy never called back and I had to call him again at 10 AM to ask what was going on. He told me that their policies were to drop it off curbside because they didn't want to damage the concrete. I told him my shared driveway is asphalt and that it didn't apply to my house. Andy told me he would get back with me. 15 minutes later, he texts me to tell me they can't come back. This is such crap. It would take them 10 minutes tops to move the sod. Now I have to haul the sod 200 feet to my house and then haul it to the back of my house. I understand its the busy season but come on. They already used a forklift to unload it, why not just drive it the extra 200 feet. At the very least have the driver call or text me, to tell me they can't drop it where I want it, insisted of surprising me with sod 200 feet from the intended drop off location. I never do reviews for companies, this is my very 1st review that I have ever written. I'm writing a review to share my experience so that others might have a better experience than I did. I ordered sod in April with the delivery scheduled for May 6th. Their choice, not mine. The delivery was supposed to be dropped at my house, in a fairly new neighborhood but over 4 years old, at 11:00 am. At almost 1 pm I have to call to find out where my sod is. The answer I receive is "it has been delivered." Then I get questioned if it's in my front yard, of course, it isn't I'm standing in my front yard. I get in my truck and drive through my neighborhood, over 3 blocks from my house on the corner of two major streets are my 4 pallets of sod. Why would anyone drop off sod at a random corner with no one to sign for the delivery? I call Sod King and let them know that they've delivered the sod a long way from my house, and we need them to come back and load them up to take back to my house. The response I got was they are too far away now and they can come the next day to pick it up and drop it off at my house. Anyone that knows anything about sod, you can't leave it out in the sun on a pallet for a day, plus there is no way it was going to sit on this corner for a day and be left alone, people would take it. The other option I was given was to again leave it on the corner, then the next day, and I could split the cost of an installation company which would have cost me another $160.00. Why would I pay more money for a mistake that the company made? So my son and I spent the next 2.5 hours loading up half a pallet at a time in my truck and taking the sod from the street to my house. I basically had to demand that they make it right, and the best they could do was take .02 cents off per square foot. People that usually order sod are in newer areas and should be able to do so with confidence that the products will show up. Amazon, UPS, and FedEx can all find my house. The company has my address and phone number, there is no excuse for this kind of customer service. Honestly, if I wasn't an honest person I could of when I found the sod not told them that I had found it. Then taken it to my house laid it and canceled my order. There would have been no proof that I ever got the delivery because I didn't sign for it and it wasn't delivered to my house. But I was honest and I took care of it, could have been a way better experience if Sod King would have taken care of their customer. read more

We got our sod when we wanted it. However the price was to include the sod, delivery and pick-up of the pallets. The sod is great growing well, BUT we STILL have 7 Pallets sitting in front of our house that need to be picked up. We received the sod on Aug 31st and here we are almost a month later and several calls & text messages saying they would send someone out to get them. :( Seriously! We are going to have to post on the classifieds and try and get someone to come take them. What a huge inconvenience. read more
