They did xeriscaping in my front yard 2 years ago in the summer, at first I thought it was great and they had done a really good job. however, by the next spring the yard was covered in weeds. Ken, the owner, has very poor customer service, he would never answered the phone, never officially told me that it would be covered under the warranty until one day I was told they were on their way to the house, of which I was renting and needed to give the renters notice. While they did pound the metal back down, removed the weeds and prayed weed killer, the same issue repeated again this spring. My mother and I spent 16 hours removing the weeds this time, only to find there was at least 1-2 inches of dirt with the red rock, where there should have been 2-3 inches of just rock, thus why the weeds were able to take root and grow. When I contacted Ken this year, it was again via text, and he said they had fulfilled the warranty obligation. But if something continues to happen year after year then it isn't resolved! Watch them, make sure they don't add dirt to your rocks to save themselves money by not having to give you as much rock as you paid for. My rocks were supposed to come washed and polished. You can clearly see in the pictures that wasn't the case for the red rock because that's where the weeds grow, you'll notice they hardly grow in the other rock colors. All States was one of the few companies to actually get back to me when landscaping was in very high demand. Doug (our sales guy) came over and had good ideas about the yard. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and a good guy. We signed the agreement in late May and put down a sizeable deposit ($10k) with the understanding the project would start in mid-August. The price was more than expected, but that's what you get when you sign up during a materials and labor shortage. Fast forward 10 weeks later (to the week before our start date) and our sales guy calls to tell us they can't start the project because they can't get supplies and haven't ordered them yet. Apparently the ordering team just didn't do their job. We're presented with alternatives, choose a few, and those are either on backorder (with no timetable for availability), not available till 2022, or significantly more than the agreed-to price. So the start date comes and goes without anything even being ordered. I search through my email to find the contract since this seems like just cause to cancel, and it turns out we were never given a copy of it. Then when we decide to cancel the contract (because nothing has still been ordered), the owner/president comes in with a long-winded email to deflect all blame and to tell us there's a no cancellation policy and the deposit had to be forfeited since they already 'began to incur cost to complete the project'. How? The sales guy had never came back (I sent him everything he needed so he wouldn't have to), their team never ordered anything, and not one hole has been dug. They hadn't even scheduled a time to come work. After some tense phone calls, we got out of the contract but All States insisted keeping $500 of the deposit for 'administrative services'. Considering the utter lack of movement on their end, I can't imagine this went to anything other than the owner's desire to stick it to the customer for daring to question the business. If you're a massive customer, maybe the company will follow their own processes and have everything lined up and ready. But if you're a smaller project (we were $30k), I think these guys are hit or miss. I loved the sales guy, he was knowledgeable and and I know he did his best to help us out (he worked overtime to make up for the failures of the procurement team), but I have no faith in their teams behind the scenes or management structure. read more

Professional landscaping services with integrity and follow through. My wife and I could not have asked for anything more. We started this process in March of 2024, well before the completion of our new home. I contacted six landscape companies. I had four actually show up and discuss our vision of the yard. Two of those supplied bids via a text. One took a pass. Ken Doyle with All-States Landscaping met me at my home build. He took the information I had created, and we discussed our vision of the yard. His bid was very detailed and covered everything we were looking for. From lawn, drip irrigation in the beds, landscape boulders, a terraced rock wall. He added as many flowering trees, shrubs and perennials we could work into the yard. Darren his designer came next. He visited our home, and we walked the property. He took that bid and created an actual work of art plan. The All-States crew with Victor as the foreman completed this job in ten working days. I watched neighbors languish for 6-8 weeks getting the same size yard installed. Outstanding work ethic and complete understanding of the job with this crew. Prior to completion and after I have contacted All-States working with Maricio Munoz to follow up on a few items. His response times are within minutes when I have called. During the course of last summer, we revamped out entire yard using Allstates. They took out the old deck, and put in a patio/deck combo. They tore down our crumbling retaining wall, and put in a new wall using Belgard. They figure out ways for us to save money by keeping our still good retaining wall, and put a new stone exterior on to make everything fit together. They put in a sprinkler system, and went above and beyond what they quoted us. Very happy with the service, and we actually just called them for a couple more projects this year. We hired All States Landscaping to remove a "jungle" area in our backyard and transform it into a fire pit and Xeriscape area. They were very responsive to the request to provide a proposal and listened well to what we wanted. One of my favorite things is they learned that some items had sentimental value to us and they incorporated those items into the design for the area - small water feature, bricks, rocks, flagstones, and a couple of existing trees. Using some of the existing materials saved some money and really added to our satisfaction of the area. The project was just finished and we are very happy with the result. The fire pit works very well and is nice to enjoy with both the fire and the water feature running. All States listened to our concerns during the project and was flexible in adding a few items to the project as it progressed. The work was done very professionally and this area will be a highlight of our yard for many years to come. I am updating my review 3 months this after completion of the project. I have now had to dig up existing sprinkler pipes 4 times since I gave my final payment to fix problems that were caused by the project and covered up without being adequately fixed. One of the problems was a pipe connected to my main water supply header that was buried without being capped. The other problems were in sprinkler pipes damaged while laying a gas line to the fire pit. Several pipes were cracked or damaged and covered up without repair. We love the visible portion of the project and I would probably hire Allstate again, but I would watch their work much closer on the "non-visible" work that eventually gets covered up. I can still recommend their work, but also recommend that you watch them very closely to avoid similar problems. read more

After contacting several different landscaping companies, we chose AllStates Landscaping for a large spring cleanup job. We appreciated that they actually came out and measured our yard and gave us a full detailed quote before starting the work. Other landscapers we contacted wanted a credit card up front before they even saw our yard! This was our first time hiring a landscaping company and Jeremy actually took the time to explain to us what needed to be done and how much time it would take. His crew came out and were miracle workers. They worked fast and efficiently! Our backyard is a quarter acre and had many overgrown flower beds filled with weeds and overgrown bushes. They went above and beyond what we expected and the end result was a beautifully clean and trimmed yard. Their pricing was on point with other quotes we received, but their initial professionalism put them over the top of their competitors. They did have a delay on delivering our mulch, but we appreciated the fact that they were up front and honest about it, and not afraid to say they didn't know when it would be in (it ended up coming in just a couple of days later). In my business, I would rather have honesty over a "yes" man any day!! We couldn't have more good things to say about All States Landscaping! First, let's start with the President and Owner Ken Doyle. We called 4 different companies and Ken was the only one to come to the house and give us a quote. He visited in just a few days and did a thoughtful walkthrough of the entire backyard to help us develop our own ideas and then add some of his personal touches and experience. He had designer Darren come out a week later to walk the yard with us to fine tune the design and colors. Darren later presented us with a detailed backyard landscape plan to visualize the design. The design included trees and plants to be used to help bring the plan to life (see attached). The full job started in just a few weeks and was led by Mauricio Munoz as our Project Manager. Mauricio could not have been more fabulous. He was on site and checked in with us several times per day as key changes and/or decisions were being made. He brought creative ideas and solutions to the project as we made a few changes on the fly and we were amazed at the progress each week. In fact, he still follows up with me today months after the project was done. The entire crew under Mauricio including Luis as foreman were fabulous and easy to work with each day. Ken and Mauricio were back to approve the final results and we couldn't be happier with the results. Ken and Mauricio have also been incredibly responsive and easy to work with as we have added a few more touch-ups and projects after the initial plan was completed. These guys did our HOA lawn mowing. As I was driving in the neighborhood, one of there lawn mowers shot a rock at my truck and left a pretty good size chunk. It was a nightmare for them to even give me a few hundred bucks to take care of damage. Said that it wasn't there fault, but for example if the rock had hit my window on my house, they would of paid to replaced it. When the incident happened, I had stopped my truck immediately as there was a very loud pop from the rock. Allstates Landscaping worked hard to put my backyard in. Once they started it was in within 2 weeks. The work involved taking dirt out. Cleaning up the weeds that had overgrown, bringing new dirt in. Putting in a sprinkler system doing a final grade, and also installing sod. They did great work. read more

We're really excited with our new Xeriscape landscaping. Our front yard looks beautiful and clean. Ken and his crew did an amazing job. We were hesitant to hire a landscaper and thought we could do it ourselves. We are glad we didn't try it. We drove around our neighborhood to see how other xeriscape projects have turned out. My experience with Allstates was vastly different than the other posts - however, it's still early, so we'll see how the follow-up is. But I think a lot has improved over the last couple years - the owner even admitted they have had to and have been improving on their follow-up. But the results we received for our yard was fantastic! It matched the design perfectly. The crew was very responsive and willingly made any change or addition we requested. Nothing was too hard for them. The trees they planted were already larger than expected (2+ inch trunk girth), which helps our new yard already look more established. They provided key information in helping us keep our yard maintained and looking good and making sure it gets firmly established. The crews spoke a different language than we do, but all the foremen speak the same, so it was relatively easy to communicate any questions and changes. The owner himself visited occasionally and confirmed things were going in correctly and well. Yards, from start to finish, are expensive. However, the Allstates bid and final cost was very competitive, and for the quality of work they did, including the professional landscape design completed by an actual landscape designer, it was a very good value. read more

Our yard turned out better than we'd hoped. We first began discussions with All States and Ken over a year ago. At that time, he came back with a reasonable bid and some great ideas and vision for our not so simple project. We decided to postpone until the next spring. We reengaged Ken early in the year and selected All States after receiving two other bids. As with any project, there were issues that needed to be worked through and communication could have been better, however, all commitments were kept and we couldn't be happier. The included design work/designer was fantastic and practical. The crews were professional and clearly focused on completing a project that we would be pleased with for the long term. Ken worked hard to ensure that the scope of the project and phasing worked well for us and for our budget. He also stayed engaged to make sure it was done right. Extremely unimpressed. I had them come out for a free quote. From the get go, they call the day of my appointment and reschedule. Ugh, I asked for that day off for a reason. Strike 1... Then comes the day of new appointment date... The guy is 2 hours late... he didn't call me to let me know he was running late, I had to call him and ask him WTF !!! Strike 2.... So he comes gives me a quote and leaves, I call him that day to ask if we can do the job in 2 phases over a couple months. He says,"yeah sure, let me call my masonry guy and call you back today .... Yeah, bud.... 3 weeks and I'm still waiting... Strike 3.... You suck All States. Now you've been put on blast. read more

The customer service lady is horrible. Every year for the last 9 years, I had to call so many times turn on/off the sprinklers. Every year, they found some things to fix. I am done with their horrible customer service. I called the place to schedule ... oh we have to do the commercial first... we will call you on Friday. They never did. I kept calling but this time, this lady is so rude. She is supposed to take care of the scheduling but asked me to call their contractor Jerry. Oh we have to do the east side first because it's colder. Guess what! I have enough of their shitty service and attitude. BEWARE!!! As they were working on our neighbors yard (yikes) we had them come over to give us an estimate in their down time. The estimate was pretty fair with the exception of sod portion which was double the going rate of sod throughout Utah. We called the following day and agreed to all of the work he bid on but opted to leave out the sod work. He agreed and set an apt for a few days later. The night BEFORE the job was to be done he texted and said that he no longer wanted the job unless we included the sod portion. We declined and said that we wanted what we originally agreed upon. When getting quotes Allstate was the only one who didn't leave things out which was wonderful. We ran into issues with the fence company and Allstate was there for me to fix those issues immediately. I have been very impressed with Allstates. Our project was to renovate our existing landscaping. Our yard had been neglected for a while and the existing sprinkler system was horrible. We also had them remove multiple bushes and plants that we were not happy with. We were pleased with the design process, especially because they actually listened to us and took our input into their design process. We told them that we wanted a simple, attractive, low-maintenance yard and they designed exactly that. They didn't overdesign the yard and require us to ask them to take out additions we didn't want. I know a major concern of some may be the workers who come to your house. We were very pleased with the workers that Allstates employs. They were hard working and on-time, but they were also very respectful of our privacy and our property. We have children and dogs and we felt they were safe while they workers were there. When deciding who to go with on a backyard remodel, we went with who our neighbors used which was Allstates Landscaping. They seemed to have done a beautiful job next door. Little did we know the issues that would follow. We had Greg out to do our initial quote. The vibe we got was that our project was insignificant and he seemed disinterested from the start. He was either repeatedly late for appointments, or completely stood us up one of the times. He was very unresponsive to our questions and we never received a final quote before work began. The start date of our project was delayed multiple times and we were never kept in the loop. We reached out to the owner who we were told was to embarrassed to even talk with us about the issues. They then parted ways with Greg and we got Robert to oversee our remodel. We didn't even know it until the project had already started and we had questions and had to ask someone else. When Robert finally introduced himself, we thought we finally had someone who cared and was going to manage our project right. We were dead wrong. Robert is the kind of guy that tells you what you want to hear, but when rubber meets the road, he doesn't honor what he says and instead turns it back on you insinuating that you are the liar. Needless to say we got to the point that we looked at what we could take away from them and finish on our own just to be done with them. Then the final bill came. It was wrong (in our favor). We reached out to them to let them know, but they weren't getting it. Finally they corrected it and added costs like $250 for bolder placement (they weren't even going to do this even though it was thoroughly discussed with them and it took them 10 minutes to place a couple of boulders and the rest I picked up by hand and placed myself). We did most of the on-site project management and had to continually watch them and have them fix their errors. If we weren't doing so, there would have been multiple issues with our concrete pad and stairs. One of the biggest issues we had, is that we had two sets of concrete steps poured coming out of two bay doors. One of the steps coming out of the door had a steeper grade than it should have. When trying to figure out what to do, I reached out to my friend who is a general contractor and he asked if we meant to make the steps not up to code. We were surprised to hear that comment, but we looked into and he was correct; the brand new $3600 concrete steps were not made to code. When we brought this up, Robert said there was nothing they could do and that they were to code. We got documentation from our city showing that it was not to code, but they kept saying it was. This went on for months and we ended up withholding payment for a time until they finally took a little money off. So frustrating to pay professionals that do work that isn't even up to code and then blame you for it. I completely regret going with them and would advise anyone considering them to reconsider. There are more issues that happened, but this seems sufficient to get my point across. read more

Hired this company to fix my backyard. Honestly my back yard was a mess. It had a sprinkler system installed by amateurs, had massive weeds all over the place, a firepit installed again by amateurs and had been ignored for more than a year. Allstates came in and within a week had totally re-done the entire thing. I had them replace the failed sprinkler system, do a gravel area on the side parking area of the house and re-do all the planting areas. Not only were they fast but the results looked awesome and they left the professional touch that I needed. Seriously impressed with this company and their work. We hired Allstates Landscaping to help us with a backyard project of removing some unnecessary fencing, moving garden boxes and pouring concrete for a basketball court. Everything looks great, but what was most appreciated was the level of communication. I had a hard time even getting other landscaping companies to follow through with sending me a bid, but Ken and Efrain were accessible and communicated through the whole project, making sure we were happy and clarifying expectations when necessary. I was very happy with Allstates landscaping. I loved that I received a professional rendered drawing to keep of our yard for free! That was so helpful for me to be able to visualize everything. Ken and his team was very quick to answer emails, phone calls and texts, which is unheard of in a landscaping company unfortunately. They also have a receptionist you can call, which is unheard of! I loved being about to ask questions and check up on things and the receptionist was there 8-5! So wonderful! Allstates was the best price and the value was very exceptional. When they layed the sod they were removing little rocks, clumps of dirt and making sure it was flat and level and removing any other debri that was in the way. I was so surprised by that! The sod was such a great quality too. I also loved going over to Allstates landscaping to pick out my pants. That was a really cool feature you don't get with most landscaping companies. They had unique and interesting plants, mature trees and I loved seeing what my plants would look like in person. Very great experience and we love our yard! I requested a spring yard clean up (trimming, mulch, weeds, etc.) with the intention of creating a 2-3X per year scheduled recurring service. This was one of the worse experiences with a contractor I have ever had. First the price quoted was high but I hoped for high qualify work and was willing to move forward. Instead, what I got was no show, no call back for a month. When I followed up, I got an unannounced visit several days later on a snowy day (no one was home because no notice was given) only to call and tell me that they couldn't do the work in the snow (duh). It took over anther two months of calling before they came back (again, no notice was provided so no one was home) and the work done was 20% of what was requested and quoted. It took another month to finally get the rest of the work done. Four months, a huge hassle, and a hefty price tag relative to others. Safe to say, I will not be using them again or recommending them for yard maintenance. read more

Terrible customer service. We had a guy come out and give us a bid for changing our yard. They said they wanted half up front and although it was expensive we decided the work needed to be done. We gave them the money and they said they were two weeks out from starting. A MONTH later WE CALL THEM and they say they are still a couple weeks out! Two weeks later we still hadn't heard from them so we asked for our money back. They said "sure". Its been almost two months since they said they would give us our money back and multiple phone calls and we still don't have our money!!! read more

I contacted this company 4 weeks ago, because the previous owners of our new home recommended Jeremy. BTW Jeremy came to our house last September to winterize the sprinklers. When i called 4 weeks ago they said Jeremy no longer worked there and that they could get someone out to turn on our sprinklers by the end of the following week. Even though Jeremy had left, this company never bothered to call us to schedule us seeing as though Jeremy left. They did say they would be by at the end of the following week. I agreed. The end of the week got here and suprisingly No-one bothered to call to confirm that anyone was coming or not coming. I again had to call them back Friday morning, Amy said someone will be out there by the end of today and worst case Saturday morning. In the meanwhile my grass is burning in the heat. No one called me nor did they come on Friday or Saturday. A week and a half later i called and they said someone would come out by the end of the day. The guy shows up and determines that there is a leak or busted pipe. He leaves without fixing it because they needed my signature (what?!?!?) so I had to call them to inquire and they said the guy would return early next morning to do the repairs. At 9:00 am i again found myself calling and some guy answered who said everyone is in a meeting and I would have to call back. Guess what? At 5:50 pm i asked my brother if they came to fix it. he said no body came. Their website says they are open from 7:00 am until 7:00pm. I called at 5:50 pm and the same guy from earlier who answered said everyone had left for the day! You have got to be kidding me. The guy shows up Wednesday and finally was making repairs (so i thought) By the way it is now 4 days and $400+ after, my sprinklers have NOT come on once this week. I manually ran it this morning to find some sprinklers still not working and the worst part they did not make all repairs (near a corner of our house there is clearly a break) As of 28 Jun I will add that i spoke with the company this morning and they fixed the over priced billing. read more

I needed a sprinkler repair done and they sent out a guy fairly quickly, within a couple of days. I had dug around the pipe to find the leak and so the pipe was already showing when he showed up. When he finished there was still water in the hole covering the pipe, When I asked him about it he said it would drain by it's self and would be good in a couple of hours. I called in while he was there and paid $300 for his service. Well, The next day The hole was still full of water so I called up and they sent out a new guy. The next guy showed up and sat in the car in front of my house for 1 1/2 hours before getting out. I called him while he was there and he said he was "filling out paper work". When he did get out he went around and checked all the sprinklers and did other busy work for another hour. Then he went and fixed the leak and buried the pipe. He said he could not give me a price right then but the company would send me an invoice. I soon received a bill for $900. I called the main line and complained to no avail. They said the work had been performed and I needed to pay. I probably could have fought it out more but I decided my retaliation would be to leave this review on as many sites as I could to warn off other customers. read more
