My husband and I stopped for breakfast on October 27, 2025. The wait staff was very rude. There was no menu and she stated that people our age would have visited diners enough to know what would be on the menu. We both ordered what they called biscuit and gravy with eggs medium. I could not identify the meat in the gravy. The biscuit was a glob of dough and the eggs were cold. We should have left. We were not aware of the cost until we received a paper bill. The amount did not match what was stated online. I got up and left, my husband paid the bill and there was a dog running loose in the restaurant and quickly jumped into my seat and started eating off my plate. My husband was not happy. I later reported this incident to the health department. I don't know how they stay open. It was a total waste of money and time. I should have read the reviews first. Not impressed. Prices seem fair until you find out they don't come with a side. The turkey burgers are frozen pre made and bland. The BLT was lacking in size and the buffalo tenders were by far atrocious and no cook, chef, boy scout or vindictive person should allow something like that to leave the kitchen. Best. Vegan. French toast. Ever. And the tofu scramble has little crispy bits like eggs sometimes get. And the veggies are fresh with some crunch to them instead of cooked to death. In other words: PERFECTION If you need more convincing, here you go. The diner is clean, bright, and quirky in the best possible way. Service is impeccable. Food served quickly. Flexible with substitutions and even servings. I was still a bit hungry after the French toast and asked for a half serving of tofu scramble with no mushrooms. "Not a problem!" they said. Oh and your typical (read: fantastic and nostalgia-inducing) juke box music. Now about that french toast: I eat a lot of it, especially in NYC. This tastes like mom's growing up. Like every amazing diner in CT or Jersey. Like home. I almost cried eating it because it was so good (and I'm an emotional sap so go with it). Bottomless coffee is strong but not too much so. This place is adorable! The staff was so sweet and friendly. I got a vegan "egg cream" (yes, this is apparently possible!) which was my first ever experience with an egg cream, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I also got a veggie burger and fries, which were pretty good, not amazing. But the housemade black cherry vanilla soda was awesome! It was so good I got a raspberry vanilla one to go, and it was excellent too. Also extremely reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is very cute too. I've lived in the area my entire life, but only just learned about Soda Jerks when trying to find a place we could walk to while waiting for our truck to get work done. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant, and we liked the look and how retro it was. I liked that the eggs were supposed to be farm-fresh, since that's the eggs we're used to eating. To start off with: the drinks. My son and I ordered water, which was obviously tap/city water. Anyone who's had Oneonta's water knows it usually tastes like pool water. It's disgusting. My husband ordered a soda, and when it arrived we were told it was made there in the restaurant. I wish it wasn't. It was flat, it had zero carbonation, and it tasted like syrup water. My husband couldn't even finish it. The pancakes were over-thick and undercooked. They were flour and water, no flavour at all. Even basic pancakes taste good. These did not. The syrup container had an ant on it when it was delivered to us. It was disgusting. The eggs were absolutely atrocious. I don't know if they were bad when they were served, or if they were actually even farm-fresh, but they were absolutely disgusting. We took one bite and couldn't eat any more. We eat farm-fresh eggs on a regular basis, and these were far from farm-fresh. I don't know what they did, but they were disgusting. The home-fries were okay. They had red and green pepper, which we weren't used to. My husband wasn't a fan and couldn't eat it, I wasn't a super-fan, but it wasn't too bad so I finished it. It was definitely weird and not worth trying again. The bacon was over-cooked and dry. I've never had dry bacon, and I don't know how they cooked it, but it was like trying to eat a piece of bark. Except bark probably would have tasted better. How do you manage to have bacon not taste like bacon? The sausage was okay, but it wasn't anything spectacular. My husband and I both got wheat toast, and had to add a LOT of butter to each piece to make it edible. My son had white toast, and that was about the only good thing that we got between our three meals. We definitely will not be back. If we had been thinking about more than leaving, we would have complained and refused to pay, something we've never done before. I don't know what they're doing in that kitchen, but it definitely is not conducive to a good meal. read more

I heard nothing but great things about Soda Jerks bakery. We decided to give it a try. The cake was heavy, the cream center was almost not there. The cupcakes were overdone and stubby. We asked for baby shower toppers and were extremely upset with what we received! It was just a Hodge Podge of tops from match box cars to pink toppers. It was only to be blue pacifiers and bananas for a little boys baby shower. We will never go here again! read more
