We Met with Kat, the Admissions Director who was very knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. Then Mary, the Executive Director stepped in to visit with us and finally Stephanie, LVN. Stephanie had the sweetest personality and we just know that dad is going to respond well to her. The facility is nice and will meet dad's needs. we also really appreciate that their rate is all inclusive will not increase as dad's condition declines. Other places we visited are corporately owned and double the cost. Whereas Villa South is family owned. Dad doesn't need granite countertops and fancy dining rooms. He needs a place that feels like home and at Villa South, my brother and I believe they can offer that. They have a theatre, lovely garden, and activities to keep dad busy. Obviously dad has not moved in yet, so this review is solely based off of our experience thus far. We are very hopeful for a happy future for dad at Villa South and look forward to working with the pleasant staff at Villa South that we have connected with.

They truly love them and have their best interest at heart. With very difficult disease states to manage most places would have discharged them. Yet the Villa South has worked diligently to address their needs, have been extremely patient at keeping my family happy. The staff communicate well and have always been willing to work with me . These places are expensive. But they are providing 24 hour care to your loved one. This is second place we have had our loved one in. The first one was not good but Avanti is 100% different. The staff are so friendly and caring to us and to their residents. They treat them just like they are their own loved one. They do actives with them to help keep their brain functioning sharp. They acknowledge it but have been claiming the Che k would be mailed for the last 90 days while refusing to provide any information for follow up. It's clearly " the checks in the mail" nonsense to keep an elderly person money. I can only imagine how many elderly residence have been over medicated and fleeced by this company. Their care for my father has been way more than I expected out of an assisted living facility. 2. The list of services is worth every penny spent. 3. Some of the services we were not receiving at another facility were in house doctors and testing. 4. Any time there was a change in my father's care it was implemented as soon as possible. There were no delays in putting in place changes in medication or care. 5. Last, but not least, is the fact that my father has a regular check in by administration and his in house doctor, which I can always count on. This check in is always followed up with communication with me as a reassurance of the level of care he receives. All in all, the level of care he receives is superb!

Frontier Management took over in January 2022, now residents are fed sandwiches, and mystery mash. No appetizing meals as before the takeover, no chicken, salmon, beef, no real meat, not even McDonald-like chicken tenders. Sandwich comes with cheap deli meat, no tomato, no lettuce, mayo only. No nutritional food pyramid for seniors is evident. Guests are not allowed to eat in the dining room with their LO. Ex Dir stated she knew the food was bad, and not nutritional, but it was a supply chain issue. She offered no solutions. Hopefully change for the better will occur soon. Am supplementing healthy meals as well as HEB deliveries. No covid testing done on residents after they are quarantined. Very few guidelines via the State of Texas are enforced like those for a nursing home. New management brought in new staff. Sadly it is lacking a healthy actively engaging environment and cleanliness.

Such as needing assistance with bathing or medications . 24 hour nursing staff available. They have a gym availability with supervision. A nurse practitioner from Pak medical clinic is available 1 time a month. And a local podiatrist also comes to the Blake. Transportation on Tuesday and Thursdays for doctor appointments. Once a week residents can get in the tram to go shopping at either HEB or Walmart. They can also sign up to go to restaurants( of course they pay individually). Occasionally they go for a play or other entertainment. I went with my mom to see an Elvis impersonator, great fun. Another residents could sign up to go to local playhouse, circle Arts entertainment. The front receptionist ladies Courtney and Deb are the best. They're always sweet and welcoming. My mom loves it here. For those whose family members need it there is a memory care.
