You couldn't ask for friendlier service than at Idaho Joe's! They give you a lot of food and the prices are great! My only suggestion is for them is that the food arrive at the table hotter. Nothing seemed hot enough, from my biscuit, omelette, hash browns or even the coffee. It was all just warm. The grated cheese on top of the omelette wasn't even melted. Everything tasted great though. Our booth next to the wall needed attention because every time I leaned on it it would tilt. Restrooms were clean! Yay! I was in Twin Falls and when I travel I like to try restaurants that are part of the area. I got the chili to try. It was okay but not what I've had in the Midwest so it was different but in a good way. For the main I got the pepper jack melt and it was good, nothing to brag about. Fries were okay. My niece had 2 gigantic pancakes that covered the plate and bacon; her boyfriend had eggs, hash browns and a massive amount of biscuits and gravy; my wife had a large waffle and I had one of their skillet breakfasts with English muffins. My wife and I had coffee, the kids had huge glasses of apple juice. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and the bill was just over $50! Strictly reviewing the Saturday buffet: Haven't been to a ton of places with an optional buffet, in the middle of the traditional dine in service. No frills, but plenty to eat if you're looking to fill up for the morning. It was quite clear it's not necessarily what makes Joes special, but it was worth trying. Since you can go with the buffet, or go with ordering entrees from the menu, the AYCE section is not too big. But it wasn't buzz-kill small either. You can still look forward to the two rows of food available, with the crepe, omelet, and continental bar adding some meaningful dimension to the offerings. Joes generally did a satisfactory job with the breadth and quality of the selections. I don't think we missed much, between the traditional staples (eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes) and the slightly elevated brunch fare (steak strips, eggs Benedict, mini latkes, and cheese blintzes). Again, the locals who have been there and done that can make you feel like you got too swept up by the flashy prospect of the buffet, but Joes probably makes decent to good money with patrons who have to get the AYCE component out of their systems. Seems the Sunday version of the buffet is even more compelling, offering more food and AYCE features, so maybe we'll try to catch it the next time we're in town. But starting your weekend with the Saturday breakfast buffet - you probably wouldn't be sorry with the occasional go of it. read more

I purchased a strawberry and rhubarb pie as I was visiting friends. The filling was nice and crust was good save for it being too thick for my tastebuds. Since we were in Idaho I wanted to get a baked potato. It was hard to find a restruant that served potatoes as an entree. Fortunately for me they had a baked potato for lunch. The potato was exactly what I wanted. It was a meal all by itself. I added cheese and bacon bits. The bacon bits were a real piece of bacon, freshly cooked and crumbled. The skin was salted. While traveling, we are all about trying out local businesses. I mean, if there is a chain restaurant location in your area, why go to it while traveling if you don't have to? Looked up local diner style restaurants in Twin Falls and found this place. Took a chance. It is located in a strip mall and easy to find so there is lots of parking. We went after the dinner rush so we were greeted and seated right away. All the staff that we met were very nice. Our server was very patient with us and gave us all the time we needed to decide. I went with the with Haystack Burger with a green salad as the side and my wife chose the Chicken Pot Pie with cornbread. Both came out within 10 minutes. My burger had the right amount of char as well as other really good flavors mixed in. The chicken pot pie was really hot but had a good amount of chicken as well as vegetables mixed in. I can see why it is a house favorite. The desserts to go looked really good and it had probably the biggest cinnamon bun I have ever seen. But we were full from dinner. Came in after Sunday buffet (which is awesome, but this isn't about that) - very quiet on a snowy, cold day. Had the bottomless soup and salad. Salad was fresh and had plenty of variety. Italian dressing was tangy. Vegetable beef soup was the best, full of vegetables and strips of beef. Broccoli-cheese wasn't too cheesy, but I liked the broccoli. I had a taste of the spicy corn chowder (pepperjack cheese), but wasn't a fan. No Coke Zero - Pepsi products, but the iced tea was tasty. Not sure if it was brewed or instant.
