It's not unique anymore. One of the draws of going here was to walk in and see all the liquid nitrogen and making the ice cream. It's just not fun anymore. Also, they served my bubble cone in a plastic cup? That was weird. The inside is also in need of attention. The lighting was dim and it was pretty dirty in there if you stand and look around. It's like it hasn't been deep cleaned in 10 years. There's also no restroom! People seemed nice to us. I won't complain about them. It seems like a lot of kids working, to be expected. It's basically a fast food ice cream chain so what can be expected. The real issue is, they need a manager there running the ship. The crew was all over the place when I was there. They kept looking at the order receipts, running around chaotically. Asking each other questions etc. I think they need a boss or someone there that can help the crew out with direction. I think lack of management was the issue. I recommend spending your money elsewhere. Go find a mom and pop place nearby. This place is just not as "cool" as it once was.

But Plaskos is that one place that makes you feel like you just walked into your grandparents kitchen and they have all of your favorites waiting for you, and they are just as happy to see you as you are to see them. People don't just go to Plaskos because it's an ice cream store or cafe, even thought their home made ice cream and creative flavors taste like nothing you've had before, and their coffee makes you close your eyes and wonder where this has been all of your life. People go to Plaskos because it's tradition. It's who New Englanders are. The original Westport location closed its doors in December 2023 due to financial problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. My family and I recently visited Saugatuck Sweets for ice cream. We just had lunch next door at Firehouse Deli and thought that ice cream sounded like a good dessert idea. We really liked the interior and their selection of old school candies. After looking over the menu, I ordered a cup of "Peanut Butter Blizzard", my wife ordered a cup of "Mint Oreo Bomb", and our son ordered a cup of "Cookie Monster". We all enjoyed our choices.
