Although there was a line, it also moved quickly! The outdoor seating made for a vibrant and fun experience for an ice cream shop and we could tell there were many regulars in the crowd. We always pass by Main Street Creamery but today we finally stopped in because my 10 year old decided it was time to try something new to us, and let's be honest, she usually calls the shots when ice cream is involved! We were greeted with quick, friendly service. My daughter was thrilled with her waffle bowl (though to be fair, she's pretty easy to please when sugar is involved). I didn't want to look at the menu, so I stuck with a classic vanilla on a sugar cone simple and generously scooped. It's never too cold for some good ice cream. I was in Bridgeport for the weekend and went to get lunch. As I was driving back to my destination I drove by Main Street creamy and there was a crowd at the register so after my appointment I decided to go check it out for myself. A small parking lot is located to the side of the business and there is also street parking available. There were so many options to choose from. The options ranged from slushies, milkshakes, sundaes, soft serve, and many hard ice cream flavors served on a come or in a takeout container. Seating is also at the side if you want to sit and eat. The ice cream was so delicious and creamy. I love the texture and will be back to try other flavors. There is nothing wrong with having ice cream in the winter. read more

What a delight it was to stumble upon the Bridgeport gem. The menu is huge with cones and sundaes of every size and shape you can imagine, slushees and Italian ice too. The secret to ice cream is the quality of the product and everything we have had from the ice cream to the toppings and whipped cream is premium. I honestly could not imagine how they could keep the product and quality so high with such a vast menu, but they do. On our second visit we had the churro sundae, which is a larger sundae, Italian Ice, and a caramel sundae. The churros were warm and fresh. Again, home run. The lines can be long, but the staff moves swiftly so you will not wait long. There is also some nice sectioned off seating. I did find the tables to be sticky/dirty from previous guests, and the garbage bins to be pretty filthy too. It can also be very crowded with families, so there will be kids running hither and yon. Main Street has definitely become a local staple when you need an ice cream fix. It may not be as exotic as a trip to the farm, but sometimes you just need some good ice cream and you don't want to drive 20 miles and wait in line. One thing that I love is that they have a few vegan options, not something you see all the time at an ice cream place. My favorite is the cookies and cream version. It's made with oat milk and it's pretty darn good. I've had their dairy version and there is a difference, but if you are vegan or lactose intolerant, it's definitely worth a try. I think they have a one or two other flavors as well. One of the dairy flavors that I LOVE here is their pumpkin ice cream. Like everything else pumpkin, it's not around for too long, but you should definitely get it when it is. I've had it mixed with other flavors and it was delicious, even the aforementioned cookies and cream (both versions) is a good match. I like that the pumpkin flavor leans more towards the pumpkin than the spice, something other places get backwards. I also really like that I can get something for everyone in the family here, everything from fresh churros to a sundae or a dipped cone. It must be good here because there's always a few people waiting. They keep the line moving and use an order window and pickup window to keep people distanced. The hard ice cream is stale and Not fresh at all. Mine had a strange underlying banana taste and I didn't order anything with bananas. They must have cross contaminated of just had old flavors bear eachother. Not sure, but not what you want when you want quality ice cream especially for their price either. We had to throw them out, and I have literally never thrown out ice cream in my life before that. Delicious, and you can tell its the real ice cream (not from a powdered mix like some of the franchises serve) because it melts quick on a hot day and doesn't leave a heavy feeling in your stomach after you eat it! There is a nice, fairly shaded outdoor seating area with picnic benches, and an awning covering the sidewalk where you wait in line at the window (so you don't sweat to death waiting in line, get soaked in the rain, or freeze in the winter).
