Styles and quality fantastic- store personal very friendly and helpful - great location ample parking

The store had a culture change about 18 months ago which I enjoyed. Prior to that time, the sales staff was condescending, one even stated a couple of years ago that I didn't look like I was in the right store (jeans day, I went back in my suit and they fell all all over me.) But then something changed, and suddenly they were nice, didn't talk down to me, and overall I brought quite a few things there that I didn't find elsewhere. I did note that they discontinued the lifestyle products last year in the store, eliminated fragrances as the company shifted out of certain products, and prioritized to more mass market items instead of specialty fabrics, fits, styles, and items that had made them unique. Then after the '21 holiday, another change in attitude. Larger and petite sizes were only available online, and staff wasn't friendly and seemed to be highly stressed. Not a shopping experience to be enjoyed. Sad, I used to love their clothes, particularly ones that were dressy that I could wear for nice evening out and their holiday styles, but no longer. You need to be skinny, "upscale," and part of the social scene once again to be welcome. read more

I'm trying to call the Southlake store this morning at 10:30 and nothing happens. About a minute later a busy tone sounds. Tried calling the 800 number and couldn't understand a word the person was saying and then the phone went dead. I need help with an order ... how is it that a top they advertise online will not be shipped until 10/23/21????? read more

I recently discovered the product Wunderbrow and purchased it on line. I was hoping to find it in a store near my home. I was pleasantly surprized to learn of the Soft Surroundings store in Southlake, Texas. I called ahead, made sure they had what I wanted and ran by on my way home from work. It was a little out of my way, but I will definitely go back! I was met with a warm welcome, and made to feel as if I was the only person in the store! Apparently my twin shops there, because two of the ladies said you look so familiar. What made my visit even better was the birthday surprize because my b/day is in February! Thank you Soft Surroundings for showing me that customer service isn't dead and very much alive and well in your store in Southlake, Texas! read more

I do like Soft Surroundings, but this one feels tiny compared to another I've visited. While the store name brings up images of bath robes, moo-moos, pajamas, and tent-like attire, the clothing is a mix of comfort and style. So yes, there are some non-tailored items, but then there are beautiful outfits that I would wear to a nice dinner with the hubby. There are also candles, lotions, and other items meant for a relaxing evening at home. I can't say I found what I was looking for here - well I found it, but realized I didn't like it - but I've walked out of another Soft Surroundings after having parted with a nice chunk of change. I definitely wish I had one of these closer to home. read more

The Plano location needs to treat the customers like the Southlake location. I am ALWAYS greeted as soon as I walk inside. The overall ambience is elegant, helpful and most of all respectful. The prices are high but typically you get what you pay for. I will continue to be a devoted customer at ty his location ONLY read more

The staff is not friendly and helpful. No one says welcome or may I help you. Even when checking out not even a thank you. I like the clothing but I don't feel like they value my business. I won't shop at this store again. read more

The check out desk was in a frenzy the entire time, but the lady that checked us out was so nice. The reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the manager (Jen?) was NOT nice. She was very short with customers and talked down the her employees the entire time. The lady checking us out had a computer malfunction and asked for help, and the manager snapped at her for a simple mistake. Managers should encourage their employees, not scare them. read more

I first discovered Soft Surroundings through a mail order catalog. I didn't even know they have stores. My first experience in-store was in Kansas City, but since, I have also been to the Southlake, TX location. Great service. Fabulous clothes. Perfect fit for the "mature woman". I saw a dress in the catalogue that I wanted, but I wan't crazy about paying the shipping. I called the Southlake store to see if they had it, but they didn't; however, the very nice saleswoman said they could order it/have it shipped to me for free. Done! My beautiful dress came this morning! I love their clothes, and the saleslady was so nice and saved me some money. read more

Gorgeous clothes! But, this place is located in Southlake Town Square, which makes parking a pain the butt if it's a weekend. Go on weekday mornings for an easier time parking. The clothes here are just my style-casual, stylish, comfortable, well-made and they fit true to size. The ladies working here were really friendly but a little in your face. Asking if I need a dressing room every 3 minutes. Please leave me alone so I can shop! Not sure if that's because they want to appear to be super friendly, or because it's just habit to constantly nag customers. That point alone almost makes me not want to go back here, but I will because the clothes are just beautiful. So, four stars for nagging sales people and because the prices are high. read more

5 Stars for me - I called on the phone and asked if they had bedding in the store....they only have samples. Karyl (I hope I spelled it right) was absolutely awesome. She ordered my bedding and it will be delivered at my house no later than Friday - this call took less time than me clicking away on an internet order. And hey if it doesn't work out she lives nearby (as she has my shipping address) and I can give to her for a return and not have to drive to the store...seriously AWESOME customer service!!. read more

I visited this Soft Surroundings store several weekends ago. I walked in and was immediately welcomed and asked if I could be helped. I said yes, I wanted to see their slacks. Instead of helping me, the sales woman said, "Well, the pants are located all throughout the store." That was it. I was not asked again the entire time I browsed. This was disappointing to me. Comparably priced (competitor) clothing stores in Southlake Town Center have friendly, HELPFUL sales people who welcome customers and continue to help and offer suggestions, etc. throughout the shopping experience. During my browsing, one sales person was on the phone at the check-out desk. She was helping someone and the conversation permeated the entire store the entire time - it was too loud and it was clear the sales person was frustrated with the phone customer, who may have been elderly and confused. This set an unwelcome tone in the store, in my opinion. I am not generally a person who complains, but I believe that warmly welcoming customers and genuinely helping them with their shopping will actually generate more sales. I don't particularly enjoy shopping and appreciate it when sales people help me put outfits together. I hope if/when I enter this store in the future, the atmosphere will be more welcoming and helpful. read more
