What a fun outdoor dining experience this is! I'd never heard of it, but when a family member recommended a food truck dinner with outside seating on a nice summer night, I was all in! The day I went, there were six food trucks offering pizza, lobster, tacos, Thai, Hawaiian, and burgers, respectively. I was impressed with the selection of food choices each truck offered. Soho does a good job of keeping tables clean, despite how many people come through. Picnic tables are covered by tarps to offer lots of shaded seating. I'll definitely be going back now that I know about this gem! read more

Food parks always DRIVE me crazy (in a good way)! I wheelie love all the different options and trucks, and every day there is a different choice. Not only are there different choices on the daily, but there are usually 4-6 trucks to choose from as well--pizza, tacos, thai, waffles, noodles. There are many picnic tables and places to sit and enjoy your meal, and the Soho employees always keep them clean and wiped down, which I really appreciate. The food truck employees are also great as well, they give great suggestions and I've never walked away hungry or disappointed. I've tried Suzy Thai, Fiore Pizza, and Maize Street Tacos. All were delightful and well priced: Suzy Thai: Great people, great food and lots of it, and the savory peanut-flavored Massaman chicken is to die for! Be sure to check in and get "1 free Drink with Entree Order", I'm always a fan of free things. Fiore Pizza: Wood fired pizza is one of my very faves, and these guys know how to do it. Totally sold me on adding bacon to my pizza but instead of making me pay for it, they just threw it on free of charge. I'm not saying they'll do that every time, but it goes to show how much they care about their customer satisfaction. Maize Street Tacos: Pretty great. I love their chips and salsa! It always takes a hot minute to my food, but it's worth the wait. The food is delicious and the ambiance is great, only giving it four stars because of a few nit picky things. Parking is a pain, but you can usually find a parallel parking spot on Kentucky Ave. Also, I still don't know if there is a set schedule for the trucks or how to figure out if the one you're craving is there that day, so until I know my tacos will be there when I go, I will withhold that last coveted star. Tips and Tricks: * There is a delightful snow cone shack that stays there every day, they provide drinks and snow cones and smiles. * Usually there is enough seating to go around, but if you're with someone, have them save you a spot because it usually takes about 10 minutes to get your food after you finish ordering. read more

I love having downtown Holladay so close to my house. Soho Food Park is one of the areas I really enjoy having in our neighborhood. May through September-every Wednesday through Saturday, they have a schedule on the website, so you can plan ahead and know which food trucks will be at the park on certain days. There seems to be a little pattern going on that you might notice. Each night, there are different types of food that is offered, which is great for families that sometimes all like having different things. It is also a nice option if you are not in the mood for cooking, but want something tasty that also supports local business owners. Everything looks amazing, and there is so much I still need to try. My favorites so far are Jamaica's Kitchen for their jerk chicken and Freshies Lobster-Real Mainah Lobster Roll. Something else that I am really looking forward to trying are the different offerings at the shaved ice place there. They have plenty of tables and are also pet friendly! read more

I've been here several times over the years and there's always something good to eat and a place to sit (even if that's on the grass). Downtown Holladay is a nice area to walk around too. Recently, I ate Suzy's Thai, which was great, and Llama wings, which were delicious (Guava was tangy and sweet, but not TOO sweet. Cooked perfectly.). I had just been thinking it wasn't worth getting burgers at restaurants anymore. I can make better stuff at home for much cheaper. ...And then I had El Sarten's amazing slider. WOW! The meat is GOOD! And the toppings are great. The buns are nice and thin, just enough to hold the burger but they aren't trying to fatten you up with bread. It was super tasty. It takes a few extra minutes, but it's worth it. I've tried one or two of the taco places and meh I can pass on those. I recommend bringing a bottle of water with you. read more

Came here on a cold Friday night with a group of 4 girls--it was before my flight back to Cali for the winter and we wanted a pretty place to eat at somewhat near the airport. Natalie C, Xinmiao L, and Angie L have been raving about SoHo for a while and so I felt obligated to come here with my friends for our last Christmas dinner! There was a decent variety of trucks ranging from BBQ to Thai to Korean to Japanese and even sweets like shaved ice, hot chocolate and artsy donuts. We all got the $3 Belgium hot chocolates and it was more sweet than cocoa in our opinion. Towards the end, things were too powdered to drink...first sips were definitely better than the last. Donuts were okay. Ramen mobile and Cupbop were as they usually are. I'd like to try this place again on a warmer day/night before the summer. I hear the decorations change, so I'm looking forward to seeing that. Why the ding in point? There were tons of fire lamps but the glass container held the heat in and everyone was left freezing cold! Besides aesthetics and lighting, they served no purpose! It was freezing cold and made our party wish we had chosen something indoors! Everything was beautiful, but the benches had layers of thin ice over it and no where could we sit outdoors to enjoy the beautiful scenery at ease because of our shivering bodies! If you're unfamiliar with what a "food park" is, just think of it as an outdoor food court, where the restaurants are always changing. That makes sense, right? You roll up, you park, and you see what options are there that day. That's pretty much SOHO in a nutshell. For a more granular description, read on: SOHO is a food park located along Holladay Boulevard, where an ever-changing lineup of food trucks come to park and serve food. Most of those complaints that many people have about food trucks are solved--there are no facilities, no place to sit down, you never know where they're going to be--and so you have a nice eating experience while still trying different things. If you work in the area, I imagine it's even better--instead of relying on the same restaurants day in and day out, there's a nice rotation that comes to you. Facility itself is pretty basic. There are several "driveways" where the trucks back in, with sidewalks where customers can approach. You can peruse the selection, make your order, and then make your way to the seating. There are probably a dozen or so long picnic tables, and nearly half of them have large shade umbrellas. On the especially hot day I visited, the shade was at a premium, so I wish there was more available. But still, it's a far cry from sitting on the curb as I have done so many times at other trucks. I don't know how often they rotate. Or how that's structured really--what they're charging, how long they contract--but I had several options when I was there--a sandwich truck, Mexican food, lobster, more sandwiches, and corn dogs. Super variety. The place was packed and parking was prickly. There is some dedicated parking, but not enough for the lunch crowd. Don't park in the residential area to the east, and beware that many parking lots are dedicated for other businesses only. It looks like a popular choice is to either park along Holladay Blvd. or on the streets to the west, and then cross the street at the crosswalk. Holladay city transformed a long time oasis of rocks into a food truck extravaganza. And did they hit it out of the park! Each truck has its own station, with a built in path for our ordering selves. Tables with built in umbrella into the cemented areas is sleek with strings of lights to boot. The classiest and most elegant truck stop I ever saw! Food trucks rotate through the weeks so pick a night and try something new! Seems to have a wide variety of options. Was pretty busy the first night (Tuesday) I tried it. There is plenty of parking - especially in the old liquor store, but they could use a little bike rack for us bike commuters. This is how food truck food park should be! Did I mention their make hot chocolate by melting actual chocolates? Yep, not powdered chocolate mix with water. The perfect drink for the cold weather! Tonight we tried sliders and Mongolian grill rice bowls. I got the deluxe veggie mix with beef, white rice and teriyaki sauce. Hubby loved his sliders and fries. There was a waffle truck, ramen noodles truck, and the German food truck along with the snow cone shack. It was a lot busier tonight because we were there an hour earlier. Still wasn't too difficult to get a table. Soda cans are only $1. I'm still waiting for Mexican food. read more

It's a food park! How could you not get excited about this?!? They have several tables, about half of which have shade/coverings. The food park staff do a great job of keeping the tables and surrounding areas clean. I wish the truck rotation would be mixed up more lately but there's probably a lot that goes into that. I bike there from home and just leave bike on grass, a wee rider is attached too so it's not easy to "walk away" with this bike. Mexican-- avoid Jurassic taco-- everything is too well done-- burnt and hard/ dry. Pizza oven place -- big black food truck fires the pizza made as you order-- the crust is also singed and bubbled so if you like the wood fire this place is for you. SUZY Thai is my winner and go to truck-- pad Thai with shrimp authentic and amazing flavor-- just enough lemongrass and Thai chili. Aztec Mexican food truck -- this may be the name not sure but it's a yellow food truck and they serve the Carne Asada taco plate and long line always-- this is a winner too. Cup Bop occasionally shows up-- I'm not a fan of the place -- that orange mayo sauce is all over everything and the glass noodles on top have them on the side. Of course the kiddo loves the shave ice place -- white kiosk-- so they actually run out of ice so by the end of the night they're finished -- arrive early for the ice-- lime so refreshing. This post isn't about any one food truck that may or may not be there on any given day. It is however about a long-time Holladay native that is giving back to his community. A successful architect and high-end home builder he doesn't need the money but thought it would be a great idea to improve Holladay. It does. So much more life. When I moved into our cute little craftsman house in Sugar House, I thought it was the "hip" neighborhood. And it is hip. And I love our the community we've built in SH, but secretly, I also really love Holladay and kinda-sorta wish we had bought a house is this up-and-coming 'hood. In the past 5-years I've seen Holladay grow from the sleepy neighborhood of retirees and old money to a mecca for casual eateries, salon and spas, fitness and yes, still retirees and old money. The intersection of Murray Holladay Blvd and South Holladay Blvd is where the action is at. In addition to my home yoga studio (The Yoga Center, check it out, it's the best) a slurry of amazing business have set up shop. At least once a week I find myself in this area, weather to nosh on the delicious guac and tacos at Taqueria 27, enjoy a boozy drink on the patio at Copper Kitchen, or pick up an iced coffee and a savory scone at 3 Cups after asana practice. Now I can add the SOHO Food Park to my list of reasons to make the trip to Holladay. On one rainy day in September, I drifted out of yoga class to see The Ramen Mobile pulled up to this gorgeous slab of concrete, umbrellas and patio lights (and I'm not just saying that, it really is a gorgeous setup, see for yourself). It was the only little truck out there in the downpour, and like an oasis in the desert of cold, rain, and power outages. They served up two bowls of delicious, piping hot ramen and I've been hooked ever since. In addition to my mid-day escapades, at least one night a week, usually two, my fiance and I will find ourselves driving over to the SOHO Food Park to see what they have in store for dinner. Ugh I love this place so much. I eat here like once a month and I just want to camp here overnight so I can get more food the next day. They always have so many different options and I love just the whole experience of eating at a food truck. So family friendly and they keep it super clean! You always have people wiping tables or sweeping. They're always rotating out trucks and each of the 5 or 6 every night are always a different kind of food! I highly recommend but I also recommend looking up the individual reviews of each food truck just so you know what you're getting! read more

I live within two blocks of the food park and probably eat here a minimum of once a week during the season it is open. It has been a terrific addition to the food scene in Holladay. I love that the owner is almost always there, that shows a passion for the project and that it won't get run down or stale. Toward the end of last season, it did seem like they needed to rotate trucks that were coming in, this season started with a bang with a bunch of new options. The owners have done a great job and are always open to feedback. I love that when I told the owner that I liked a certain truck, he asked me what my favorite thing was. That let me know that he does try the food and cares about the products he is bringing in. Love the design of the park, cleanliness (I think the owner might be a bit OCD :).. ) and just the general feeling it has. read more

This place is fun. Holladay has turned into a great spot to hang out, and this is one of the premier spots. We ate from the famous corn dog truck, and were very pleased. Tasty stuff. My family ate from a Korean BBQ place, and that food was great as well. The place was pretty full of people when we got there, but there was plenty of parking to accommodate. This type of setting is great for the summer, and in a beautiful place like Holladay, you can't go wrong with going here on a weekday, or weekend cool brisk night. read more

This place is amazing! We decided to try it out after a coworker told me about it. This place has about 6 spots for trucks to pull into and do what they do best. The day we went wasn't super vegetarian friendly but there were a few options that we got to try. Fiore Pizza, Maize Street Tacos, and Clark's Island Donuts. The pizza truck was running a great special pizza with pistachios on it. I was scared but it turned out to be a hit! The donuts place was also amazing and this coming from a girls who doesn't really like sweets. There's a decent amount of seating in the ways of picnic tables as well as cute lighting and music. I recently found out that you can follow them on instagram and you can see whichever trucks are going to be present the next day. I love this gathering of trucks in Holladay. Thai, BBQ, Pizza, Lobster Rolls...even corn dogs. Most are quite good, and the prices are food-truck average...with entree costs between 10-20$. Busy on Friday nights, waits can run 10-20 minutes, and table seating is limited in peak dinner hours...but regulars will bring a blanket and sit on the lawn. Designated parking is limited, and they are serious about no parking in the residential area behind the food truck zone. But there is parking in adjoining lots and on the street. So I'm new to the area and honestly haven't had much experience with food trucks.. but this place is so good! We tried "Haute Burger and Fries" food truck.. apparently it was there opening night and WOW the food was amazing!!! Garlic fries or sweet potato fries. Huge 1/2 pound burgers cooked just right. It was amazing! To me, it was a little pricey but I'm not sure how pricey compared to other food trucks since this was my first. This is a fun place to go for a meal. Typically my boyfriend and I order from different trucks so we can try ALL the things. The one complaint I have is that a lot of the times the trucks are the same rotation. I would love to see Lola's or Chow Truck more if at all. The owners of the park are there almost all the time and they are so kind, friendly and always keeping up with the trash etc. it's a great place where we can take our pup and have a meal and try new things. We recently had a catering catastrophe--the food truck we hired didn't show up. We'd been planning our Halloween party for two years and had 90 hungry guests.
