This pizza shop was walking distance from our rental, so we decided to go for dinner one evening. First thing I noticed was their big black pizza oven outside behind the building - a promising start! By the crispiness of the crust and the speed they arrived at the table, I know that oven is ripping hot! These were some of the best made pizzas I've ever had. The cannoli was my dessert. I so badly wanted to give this place a 4 star rating simply for the fact that they quoted me 45 minutes for pick up, we got there and got quoted an additional 10-15 minutes, then another 5-10. What makes Pizzeria Tasso so special is that they are only open three days a week. Each week they have a new special which is always something fun to try. I find myself looking forward to when they announce their weekly special and getting excited to order it before it goes away! Besides ordering the special, we also regularly order their pepperoni and their margherita pizzas. We also love the garlic cheese sticks. I've been wanting to try this for quite a while now, so my anticipation of trying it was high. We sat at a table and ordered food from a QR code on my phone. We started with the garlic cheese bread. The dough was nice and it had a good balance of cheese and olive oil with a touch of garlic. It was a good appetizer. We also ordered the weekly special which was the Pepé that had mozzarella, olive oil, basil, and cracked pepper and I added pepperoni. The pepper might detract from the flavor for many. The pizza was also undercooked a bit in the middle and had too much flop to it, as well as runny sauce. Overall the taste was good, with fresh ingredients, outside of my previous complaints. My wife enjoyed her pizza, but had similar issues with the dough and sauce. I'd like to try the cinnamon roll pizza next time and hope the minor issues we encountered are resolved. read more

When I first moved to Utah from New York my number one priority was to find a good pizzeria. At the very top of that list of Pizzeria Tasso. They serve Neapolitan style pies charred to perfection in their wood fire oven. The chef was trained in Italy on how to make pizza so it's as authentic as y'all get in UT. In addition to pizza there are other Italian sweets & treats on the menu (I suggest getting the cannoli). Everything was decently priced and it didn't feel like we were breaking the bank to get a decent pie. The one thing that upsets me is it's only open 3 days a week (Friday, Saturday and Monday 5-9pm) but they do have frozen pies you can take home if you're craving it during the week. Everyone was super friendly and constantly checked on us to make sure we were settled. The restaurant is a bit small but we were able to get a table pretty easily. Would 100% go back, would go just to get the frozen pie and take it home, would even go just for a cannoli. read more

If you've ever had a wood fire pizza in Napoli Italy then you know Pizzeria Tasso pizza comes to a close second. But...first you have to get there, it's very well hidden. When talking to the staff it was told to me, some staff actually had hands on training in Italy. They have a little bit more to go in order to be a rival for Neapolitan pizza though. For example the margarita was super soggy which in turned made it impossible to pick up, and eat it without the ingredients sliding off and making a mess. I ended up using a fork but the crust was still too soggy. The basil should also be "Fresh" on the pizzas, not burnt and crunchy as in the case tonight. Once they can figure out the ratios needed it will be a go-to for sure. I would like to see their decor a little bit more inviting. Maybe add some Italian music and Italian decor. I can't believe I have lived 5 minutes from here for this long and did not know these guys were here, I've wasted a lot of enjoyment on other subpar pizzas. I feel fit to say that because I have traveled a lot of miles out of my way by foot, boat, plane, and automobile for pizza of this quality. The fact that they have Flatiron Pepper available inside shows you that they know what quality ingredients mean, and the pizza mirrors it perfectly. I used my Calabrian peppers from home to make sure I complimented the pizza without overpowering it (if your pizza makes me use the "I Can't Feel My Face Blend" for it to be edible, then I know I won't be back). Staff was super competent, and as friendly as could be expected for a busy Friday night. Whenever I come here the margherita pizza is my go to order. I tend to be a creature of habit and usually stick to the same order once I find something I like, but this weekend I decided to try some other items on the menu. I ordered my classic margherita pizza, of course, but also got bruschetta, a cannoli, and their cinnamon roll pizza. The margherita pizza never fails - it's a classic that's always delicious. Their pizza is made in a wood fired oven that's next to their in-room dining part of the restaurant, and the wood-fired taste of their pizza is incredible. The bruschetta was also delicious. I got it to go, so it came with four pieces of toasted bread, and the tomato/balsamic and parmesan toppings in separate little containers. I was really impressed by the bruschetta - it was delicious, even to go. I'm sure it's better fresh when dining in, but was a tasty to-go option as well. The desserts weren't my favorite. I always have a sweet tooth but didn't love either of the items I ordered. The cinnamon roll pizza topping was really runny and messy. It tasted okay, but I will likely not be ordering again. The cannoli was good, but it was pretty small. The filling was delicious, and I was left wanting more after two quick bites. Overall, I love this place and their pizza. Wow!!! I like to say Utah has quit a few really good Neapolitan pizza. This one located in Holliday Utah. Hidden in the back their entrance is down below. There is parking for customers and the inside was very clean we came around 530 when it was not too busy. There hours are different so make sure you look at them. They are closed Tuesday and Thursday. You order with a QR code which is good because then you don't have to flag down a waiter. They do have a couple of people that can help you with things. Pizza is fresh out of the oven when you get it so it's hard to resist eating it and burning yourself. Yes I burned the roof of my mouth but again at my own risk. Thin crust, light sauce, fresh moz the best! Parking is tricky. But I did see someone park behind where the Walgreens lot is and there is a walk way to the restaurant. Upon arriving there wasn't many people there since it had just opened. The gentleman that helped me was really nice. Let him know we were there for a Yelp event. Crossed my name off and let him know i would wait outside. Ordered another pizza to support and try it out! Outside you can actually see the oven and the peeps making the pizza pretty cool! Margharite pizza- so delicious fresh basil and mozzarella! Yum' I loved how light and fresh the tomato sauce tasted and the dough had good flavor! Garlic cheese bread was hands down delicious! Garlic flavor wasn't too strong either. Pepperoni pizza was also really good. Pep tasted different then your Normal pepperoni but in a good way! We'd definitely come back and dine in next time. I finally tried this humble pizza joint down the street from me! It's absolutely delicious! Since it was our first time, we decided to try all the pizzas they had to offer! This was a unique pizza experience and sure to be come a regular for my family! This pizza is incomparable to any other pizza I've ever had. The thing that jumped out right away to me was that the sauce has an indescribable and unexpected sweet flavor. The other star if the show is the bread/crust. It's not often that I'm excited to eat all the toppings and have the opportunity to eat what's left of the crust. It is very good! I highly recommend visiting here. If I were to have a complaint, it would only be that the location is difficult to find. So for over a year, I've been smelling this amazing pizza from my house since I live so close! It's only open three days a week, so be careful when ordering on their website, you might just be ordering for the next day they're open! Oh, and changing the time actually doesn't work on their website so don't try! But despite technical difficulties, this place is amazing and it tastes so good we will definitely be back! I highly suggest ordering online for pick up unless you want to wait during busy times. In the summer last year this place sold out because it's just that good. Parking is hard to find so take a right in front of the cleaners on 2300 and test. It was actually all the way in the back. If you can't find it, turned into the Walgreens parking lot and you'll see it but you're gonna have to go around to park... it's a hidden gem and will probably have its own bigger restaurant location at some point. Hard to find hole in the wall places are always the best right?? Pizzeria Tasso is on the back of a meat shop and is easily could be passed up on but it's worth finding ! The margarita pizza is great! With ingredients imported from Italy it's hard not to be amazing! You can taste the freshness in all the ingredients! Now fair warning this is not your dominos or Pizza Hut pizza. This is best handled with a fork and knife with very thin crust that does not hold up nearly as stiff as American pizza we are used to. And it is a smaller pizza with 4 slices per pizza so don't expect to feed more than one or two people. Some fun aspects outside of the food was the chocolate being sold up front (in my picture below). Apparently the owners mom makes the chocolate. I really wanted to try some but I already got charged twice for my order because the system was having issues And the cutout faces on the pizza boxes were something fun for the kids! For the desert I tried it was just okay. I liked the cream a lot but the cannoli itself was thick and really crunchy. read more

This is a very unique pizza place. Their limited menu is only outdone by their extremely limited hours. Their ingredients are absolutely top quality and they really shine with their well balanced traditional recipes. My only complaint is that the center dough has been significantly undercooked both times I've been there. Well, either undercooked or soaked through. The second time we ate there because I was thinking the problem would be less if we ate the pies right out of the oven. It was worse. Now that's not to say that it completely ruined it for us, the pizza was still really good and the flavors popped, but it was frustrating all the same and the reason for four stars. The staff is made up primarily of teenagers but they do a pretty good job of taking care of customers. Not fine dining standards by any stretch but they are friendly and helpful. It's a casual spot. So they are a little bit hidden and parking is a bit tricky and you'll have to catch them during their extremely limited hours. The atmosphere is definitely basic, but the service is friendly and excellent. The curbside takeout is such a great option here. Ladies and gentlemen I've searched far and wide for a pizza that stood up to my strict expectations for Pizza Napoletana. Midici in Orem once was close, Terra Mia in Orem wasn't bad, Settebello in SLC was always a favorite and there were a handful of little pizzerie that were good. In the words of Brigham Young, "THIS IS THE PLACE." I live in Vineyard so this was a bit of a drive for me, but after having tried Pizzeria Tasso, I'm trying to convince my wife to let us move to Holladay. They serve, by far, the most authentic tasting pizza in Utah and one of the best pizzas I've ever had in general. (Just don't tell that to my friends from Napoli). From the Jovanotti playing on the loud speakers, to conversing with the pizzaiolo Zeke in Italian and then finally getting our incredible pizzas, it felt like I had taken a quick trip back to my beloved Bel Paese. Seriously it was incredible. I had the Salsiccia (sausage) and my wife had the Diavola (Devil "spicy"). Pizzas were cooked to perfection, the sauce was real tomato sauce, not that red sugary garbage that's served here, the crust was thin but had some stretch with that flavor of "Tipo 00 farina" that is unique to Pizza Napoletana with the perfect balance of burnt parts and soft parts. The mozzarella was real mozzarella and the salumi were all great too. I had the apple pie pizza and just barely finished it after having it for breakfast the past two days. We ordered a margherita, margherita pepperoni, and the caprese skewer. The food was good. The ingredients are fresh and the crust is solid. They only offer a few flavors but they do them well. I give it 4 stars for the food. The reason for the 3 stars is that it took about 15 minutes for one pizza and 30 for the other. Apparently, there was a problem with a batch of pizzas and they had to remake them. That's fine. What's not fine is that we had to ask about our food after 25 minutes. If there is a mistake with an order, communicate it clearly and quickly to the customer. Maybe offer a discount or another appetizer. read more

Walking into the place, amazing smells of pizza immediately hit you. They cook their food in a domed wood fired oven located right outside the restaurant - another good sign. I honestly wasn't expecting too much from this restaurant because I figured the last place good authentic Italian pizza would be is in Holladay, UT; I was wrong to doubt them. This is my new favorite authentic style pizza place! The crust was delicious, the sauce was great, and the cheese was fantastic. The garlic cheese sticks were very tasty but not heavy on the garlic. The spicy pepperoni pizza came with a spicy honey drizzle which was subtle but added a great flavor to the pizza! I'll keep this short - very seriously unimpressed with Pizzeria Tasso. Always a bummer when the garden salad is the best thing you order at a pizza restaurant! We ordered two pizzas for carry out this past Friday evening; perhaps being to-go negatively affected the food quality. The pizzas were surprisingly small and the crust was soggy, it was impossible to eat without a fork and knife. The toppings didn't stay on (not the best cheese/sauce/topping ratio) and the outer crust was tough as well. One pizza was a meat pizza and the other vegetarian, and both lacked the integrity of a well made pie (ie Bricks Corner on 700E). Which tells me that maybe they are still figuring out their process or cooking techniques? And two pizzas plus two salads cost almost $50, which is fine assuming the food quality is worth it. So many other better (at least decent) pizzerias in the nearby area, I'd recommend trying someplace different if you're wanting quality pizza (and for sure if you're getting carryout). read more
