I love the tapas style menus even though some items are a bit too big to be considered a tapa.. 2 separate options $42 including bottomless tapas for 90 minutes or $55 which includes 5 mimosas and tapas for 90 minutes. The mimosa service was a bit inconsistent it started slow and then all of a sudden it was B2B! - This portion is done by the bartender walking around refilling. Every item was spectacular. I made it over to brunch that was recommended by a coworker and he was right... it's amazing! Located in downtown Homewood, the location is on the corner and offers great sitting on the patio, bar or inside. Since I was enjoying a solo Mother's Day brunch I was sat at the bar. The menu is expansive and with the all you can eat brunch you can try a lot. It's a lot of food so come with an appetite. I also selected the mimosa option which was great. Soooo yummy. What a great place! We came on a Tuesday evening, and the place was pretty full. We got seated quickly at a table, but they also have nice bar seating available. There is a great patio for whenever the weather is nice, too. The ambiance was very cozy yet sophisticated. Our waitress was lovely as well. I got one of their gin speciality cocktails which was delish! So light and well balanced. We started with the fried green tomato app, which was 10/10. It had the perfect amount of crunch, and we loved the crab on top and the tang of the remoulade sauce. I got an arugula salad, and my husband got the scallop special of the evening. Both were very good dishes. We finished with the cookie skillet for dessert which was very rich but delicious. It helped having the vanilla ice cream on top to cut the chocolatey-ness. Came with SO for their Bottomless Tapas Brunch. It's $48 a person (plus tax and tips, of course) for unlimited mimosas with bottomless brunch and $35 for just Bottomless Brunch. What's kind of amusing to me is they put big bold "complimentary mimosas" on the menu even though it really isn't technically, not without a bunch of strings, as obvious in the pricing. Somebody needs to explain to them what "complimentary" means, ha. They do take reservations and I would recommend making one if you are set on eating there but don't want to wait. We didnt have a reservation but got lucky and was able to sit down right away. This was a bit past 10:30am on a Sundsy morning and the place was over 90% full. Staff there is super nice and efficient, definitely 5 stars in that regard. This being my first time there, I tried as many dishes as I could. A huge fan of the fried green tomato, steak biscuit, and beignets. Got multiple of these and would definitely recommend. Thought the bacon and sausage balls, shrimp and grits, and the fish were terrible. Bacon is floppy and I am a crispy girl, so that's definitely a personal preference thing and you may love it. The grit cake in the shrimp and grits were cold and hard, a definite no. The fish was over fried. Another thing of note is that at not even 11am (and their brunch runs from 10am to 2:30am), they were already out of the quail and almost out of the parfait and the oysters. So if you come at noon, you are already down three things you probably wanted to at least try! That's definitely a problem IMO. These factors caused me to feel like 4-stars is the best I can do, especially considering the cost. However, if you have never been, I would definitely recommend you to give them a try! If you choose $35, you can add alcohol at the individual amount listed on the menu. The tapas are unlimited; however, you can only order one at a time. I went back on Saturday for a friend's birthday brunch and we had a great time. It was a first time experience for a few of the ladies and they're already coordinating a second visit. Went to brunch on a Saturday and did the "All You Can Eat Brunch + mimosas" and it was fantastic. You could order as much as you wanted and the quality was surprising considering it's ayce. We just flew into Alabama this afternoon and walked to SoHo Standard from our hotel. It is truly something special. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and seated on the charming patio. Our server was wonderful. He was warm, welcoming, attentive and gave the perfect recommendations. My husband and I had fried green tomatoes that were beyond compare, a delicious arugula salad, creamy fettuccine with a pistachio pesto (me), tacos and rice (him), and the most luscious bread pudding. Literally everything we ate was the best we'd had and done to perfection! This is what happens when you have a smaller menu that focuses on fresh, quality ingredients cooked with a skilled hand. Soho Standard continues to be one of those places that I recommend for brunch. We have been for dinner once, but need to go back to write a proper review. I recommend inputting a brunch reservation so you don't waste your time driving there and possibly not being able to be seated. I guess this is my sauna weekend because we sat outside and it got HOT as time progressed. My friend and the table next to us that we made friends with (hey fellow Gemini's) mentioned their bellies and backs were sweating. lol You can order one tapa at a time and the bartenders keep the bottomless mimosas coming. There are several menu selections (most being very tasty). Some of our favorites include oysters, fish, hash, french toast, lox, shrimp and grits, and the parfait. The price point is very reasonable for your 1.5 hour window to indulge in as much as you'd like. We always have 15+ plates each and at least 5 mimosas which makes our visit more than worth it. Service is friendly and quick. Check out Soho Standard the next time you want to go on a brunch outing... maybe sit inside though. read more

We came as a group of 6 and were immediately seated. The service was top notch for us and the food came out super quickly. You get a menu that has 3 sections: sweet, savory, and supper. We visited soho standard today and we really enjoyed the food, but the service was terrible. We felt rushed from the moment we sat down. The older man with glasses with a long grey pony tail was our server, and near the end didn't even check on us. We were in the middle of eating when he came and forced a payment device in my face to pay and I looked at him with food in my mouth filling forced to close. We paid but still wanted to sit and enjoy our food. At this point we had 40 minutes of our reservation to spare, being there was a policy 1.5 hour reservation. While we waited to be serviced again with refills no one came so we decided to flag someone down. By the time we could, we called him over and requested another drink. He argued with us that we only had 10 minutes of our reservation left. We stated that we are aware but still wanted another drink and that time has not yet expired. He walked away yelling across the restaurant that we had "our 5 drinks" (which is the limit they give for mimosas) when we had only had 3 drinks. We ended up walking out because I didn't want to make a scene we were just done and irritated.
