She really took the time to consider what I wanted, what would work best for my hair type and lifestyle, and gave me a great hair cut. I had my haircut by Mia last night. She is super nice and did a good job dealing with a difficult hair situation. I do like my cut and the service was good. I would recommend them. The only things that I would mention are these 1) their prices are pretty high $72 for a haircut and blow dry 2) they require a 50% deposit for first time appointments (I have never had to leave a deposit for a hair cut appointment in my life -- seemed very strange) and 3) they have a cancellation policy that if you cancel your appointment within 48 hours you have to pay 50% of the service. read more

Just moved back from Florida and was searching on Yelp and Google for a stylist. Salon had great reviews and 5 stars. Phillip was excellent!!! Very professional and took his time. The salon was beautiful and immaculate. I am a retired licensed stylist for 50+ years and considered myself to be the best at the time in my trade so I expect the same now, and that is very hard to find. My hair is fine and getting thin, and I like it to look perfect. Phillip exceeded my expectations on the first visit. He is a master at haircutting and really cares about the results. I hadn't gotten my hair cut in about 2 years. Morgan completely transformed it! She gave me multiple options and talked me through each one. As a mom, having hair that's low maintenance is important but Morgan made sure it was beautiful and would style easily as well. She explained what she was doing and what products she was using throughout the entire process. The way she talked me through everything made me feel very comfortable. I have been going to this salon for at least 3 years. The place is very nice inside and the staff is friendly and polite. Shaun cuts my hair and he does an amazing job every time. I used to have long hair and it was not very interesting and I never got compliments on it. Since having Shaun cut my hair short, I often get strangers coming up to me and complimenting my hairstyle. I'm so confused. This salon has a great reputation. I don't know why my experience was so bad. Despite great customer services my hair coloring turned out just awful. Instead of balayage i got some patches and the roots have different colors from the rest of the hair. So dissapointed. Such a waste of money. read more

Four of us went here to get our hair done for my sister's wedding. We were greeted warmly by the staff, and they showed us around the clean, modern space. We brought champagne with, and they had chilled orange juice, champagne flutes, delicious fruit kabobs, and treats from All Chocolate Kitchen waiting for us...exactly what we needed to start this special day off right! There was also an area with a Keurig for coffee, and cucumber and lemon infused water. My stylist was Amanda. She was very easy to talk to and made me feel at ease. We talked about what kind of hairstyle I'd like and then she made it happen! I got so many compliments on my hair that day, and it stayed in place all night, even through hours of dancing. The price for a bridal updo was $75 and was well worth it. They offer makeup application as well. This is a great salon for special occasion hair and makeup. read more

My wife and I have been going to this salon for over four years now. We are very satisfied and our expectations have always been exceeded with esch visit. The stylists we have are the same as four years ago except they are better trained and experienced and it really makes a difference in the work they do. The stylists do a great job at consulting with us on our desired look and make spot on suggestions! They also suggest products which work for what we need or the look we are striving for. The salon has a very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. We are seen promptly upon our appointed time and since we know our stylists, we have a great time each visit. This was my first experience with Sojourn and Shaun. Upon entrance I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and offered a beverage. The salon itself is contemporary without being overdone. You can tell that the stylists and their clients have great communication. This was continued with Shaun as we discussed my plans and he gave great feedback while still creating open dialogue. I brought photos of what I wanted and he definitely succeeded. His personality is warm and you can tell he genuinely loves his job and wants his clients to be satisfied. I ended up having a baylage color performed and when I left the salon I couldn't have been happier! I've had my hair died blonde before and left with it feeling dry. Not the case here. My hair felt fabulous, smelled wonderful and is so easy to work with. Also, side note, the scalp/neck massage is fantastic! Additionally the products he used were not overly potent in odor, unlike I have experienced in the past. For those with sensitivity. Also, I would like to mention Philip, the owner made sure to stop by and introduce himself, and to see how my visit was going. This is just another way that the salon stands out! Kudos to y'all! I've been putting off doing my hair for months due to Covid. I'm also admittedly not great about scheduling hair appointments in the first place, but I've been even more hesitant to schedule an appointment now. I felt so comfortable at the salon. I felt like Emily and Brandon really took the time with me to make sure they knew exactly what I wanted. They were also great at communicating with one another, to make sure everybody was on the same page. Brandon was even nice enough to take the time to explain the difference between textured and layered to me, which I've never had a hairstylist do before only to discover that what I really wanted was textured hair and not layered hair. Emily was so great, she took a ton of time explaining all the different ways they were able to color my hair and the benefits of each. And I also appreciated the overall precautions taken by the salon to make everyone feel safe during this pandemic. They are still currently not using any blow dryers, which was totally fine with me and I thought a great way to make everything extra safe. Even without the blow drying, I still felt pampered and like I was getting a great service. I am very excited to come back pandemic or no pandemic. read more

My go to hair salon was in Chicago. We moved to North Aurora less than a year ago and after so many months of searching, I finally came across Sojourn. I initially communicated solely thru Yelp and the owner (Philip) was amazingly responsive which I truly appreciated. After a week or two of communicating with them, I finally was able to come in for a cut and another day for color. Devin cut my hair and Monica did color. Both ladies were so professional and informative and I just loved the experience overall. I am still going thru the process from brunette to ash blonde and Monica was so helpful and explained the whole process before everything got started. She explained that it will likely take several sessions to do this and kept making sure I'm okay with it. I am currently pregnant and she took full consideration of this by taking a much gentler approach. Although I believe that she would have been the same way with any client regardless. I appreciate the care that is being put towards my hair during this process. I'm coming back in 4-weeks, as Monica recommended, to get that ash blonde I'm going for. Overall, I enjoyed everything about the salon, all the services (neck massage and head/massage was may super favorite) and not to forget their little nook completely equipped with studio lighting for the perfect, well-lit, shot of your before and after.
