1 Star Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. We paid for the food and ended up only eating one bite before deciding to leave. The first bite of the beef taco was cold. We addressed it with the waitress, and replacement tacos were brought out. The second order was hot, but when I bit into it, hot water/liquid came out of the meat and it was completely unseasoned. It was honestly disgusting. The "street corn" was also disappointing. It appeared to be canned corn that had simply been warmed up with mayonnaise and Tajín. It was not grilled or even pan fried, which is what we expected. The carne asada plate was barely warm as well and unfortunately not edible. We chose to just pay the bill and leave. There seemed to be a language barrier, and we did not feel additional complaints would have been clearly understood or addressed. The waitress also never acknowledged that almost none of the food had been eaten or asked if there was an issue when we left everything behind and did not take anything to go. Excellent stop on I65 at exit 2/Franklin KY. Friendly and fast service. Clean restaurant with happy music and TVs up high with sports programs. As soon as we weee seated we had chips and salsa brought to us and our drink order taken. My husband got a beef Chimichanga--it was perfectly spiced and came with rice and beans and guac/sour cream/lettuce. It was really good. I got a chicken taco salad. At first I thought it was pretty small, but it was actually very filling because it was a bowl full of shredded chicken with a very small amount of lettuce on top with diced tomatoes and sour cream. I decided it was best to treat it like nachos topping and scooped it up with the chips. It was good, but I'd been hoping for more lettuce. I can't think of anything good to say about this place. Waiter was not welcoming at all, and failed to deliver the appetizer we ordered. Portions were small. Chimichanga was just slightly larger than a deck of cards, and the accompaniments were equally chintzy...maybe a slight teaspoon of sour cream. Nachos, ordered as an entree, was small and presented in an unappetizing way. Guacamole was the thinned down goop like you find next to the onion dip in the grocery's dairy case. Three and a half, but I'll go with the current majority and round it to a four. The location is just off of interstate 65, which is super convenient and rare convenient location to find a four star restaurant. We were immediately sat near the door. The salsa was merely crushed tomatoes. My husbands asked if he could get hot salsa, but the waitress didn't understand what he wanted at all. The language barrier was my biggest complaint here. The three of us quite simple lunch entrees, but the ordering process was timely. I ordered the steak fajita taco salad and asked for the sour cream that is listed on menu with it, on the side. She brought out a side of sour cream, in addition to the sour cream that was ON the salad. Of course, I was charged for the side of sour cream. I will say that the salad was excellent. The beef tips were lean and grilled just right. My daughter ordered the signature lunch beef burrito, the Sol Azteca. She raved about the red sauce on it and the refried beans. If you like your refried beans simple, you might not like it though. The restaurant and the bathroom were super clean. I would go back, if I'm near Franklin, Kentucky and the Kentucky state line again. read more

Stopped in this tiny Mexican restaurant on the way home from vacation. Dinner rush was likely just over as it was nearing 630pm. My large party of 10 was seated promptly with no fuss. Chips, salsa and the normal routine for most authentic food places was completed without incident. Decor was cute, loved the little kids table and chair set! Music was great, staff was friendly and personable. Salsa was a little bland, nothing a bit of chopped cilantro on the side can't fix but overall enjoyable! Dinner was great! I had chilaquiles, my husband had bisteq Mexicano, the kids had cheese sticks, tenders, etc... my oldest son had the Molcajete and complimented that it was better than our favorite place back home. Many people don't know what the molcajete is. If you are hungry and adventurous, try it! If you aren't too hungry but still adventurous, share it with your friend! They are great! Get the super one with all the fixings! Summed up the total for a nice dinner, an alcoholic beverage, soft drinks and food for 10 at 140$. Not too shabby! The food had a good flavor but it was all Super salty. We ordered 3 very different dishes and yet they were all Salty. I asked for extra spicy and they couldn't do it. She said I could pay extra for some chopped jalapeño on the side. I thought this was weird since usually most restaurants can accommodate spice level. It made me think they didn't "make it fresh". Seemed like they must have a huge pot of premade stuff and can't change spice levels or substitution of ingredients. I thought the price was a bit on the high side for this area but they had good portions. I would have given more stars if it wasn't so so salty and if it was made to order and more fresh. read more

We choose this place when stopping to stay overnight along the interstate. What a mistake. First off the hot sauce is bland and the chips too thick and oily. The server, a nice young lady, did not speak very good english, did not know the menu and did not mention the specials that day. What a great place! Authentic delicious food. I got the Molecajete Supremo and there was so much food I could make 4 meals. The flavor was phenomenal. Great margaritas too! Highly recommended, don't be afraid of trying local restaurants when driving. Skip the fast food and leave your phone off and enjoy each others's company. There will probably be some variability in experiences since this is a small local restaurant, but my experience was great. This is not fine dining, so the five stars are in relation to other local Mexican restaurants I have been to. If you are on I65 near the border of KY and TN, then this is a perfect stop for real food instead of fast food or gas station food. There are at least two other local restaurants within sight, so it is in a perfect spot. We did not order much, and I did take pictures, but I will give a rundown. Bean dip: Not cereal bowl sized, but larger than a salsa ramekin. Had melted cheese on top, and it was excellent. Chips: Hot and unsalted, pretty standard, but that just means they are good. Salsa: delisciouly spicy. Everyone has their own favorite salsa, but this is one of the best tasting salsas I have had. Guac: good portion in a salsa ramekin. Standard, but that is still very good. Steak chimi: eater said the steak strips were too done. I tried it and thought they were perfect, but yes, they were well done (And delicious). Covered in ample cheese sauce Chicken chimi: same ample cheese, but eater did not like the chicken filling, sort of a red sauce and onions and pepper type filling with shredded chicken. I did not try it, but I am sure they have a grilled chicken chimi that would be tasty. read more
