By the time she finished, though, the layers looked a bit more jagged than blended, giving what I'd asked for a slightly unintentional edge. The toner she used was lovely at first glance, but it seemed to mellow out unevenly after just a couple of washes--roots a touch too warm, ends a touch too cool. I appreciated her willingness to chat through tweaks at the sink, yet the final shape didn't hold its form as long as I'd hoped. Mimi's kindness and tidy space certainly make for a pleasant visit. If you're someone who doesn't mind rebooking a tweak or two to dial in exactly what you had in mind, she might be the right fit. Otherwise, you may want to bring very detailed photos--and perhaps an extra hour to refine things afterward.

I don't think it's fair for anyone to spend their time and hard-earned money on poor service, so I'm sharing my experience. I came in for a flat twist with two-strand twists, a simple style I've had done at Texture before and loved. Unfortunately, this time was very different. My two-strand twists were not completed properly. Many were left unfinished at the ends, and some were already unraveling by the time I got to my car. I also noticed shed hair trapped within several twists, and I was literally pulling loose clumps of hair from my twists as soon as I got to my car. This made sense because after the stylist finished, they put me under the dryer for just a few minutes, then quickly ushered me to the front desk to pay before going back to another client. I wasn't given the chance to properly check my hair in the mirror before leaving. The stylist also didn't clean up the shed hair sticking out of my twists, which made me feel like they didn't really care about the quality of the work. I've had bad salon experiences since I was young, and Texture was the one place I felt I could truly trust. I've been coming here since 2022 because of that trust. After today, however, I feel taken advantage of, and unfortunately, that trust is broken. I don't think I will be returning.

I had come to the salon and was moving to San Diego, but I wanted the owner to do my hair since I had seen her Instagram and it looked good (and I had never had my hair colored before, so I trusted her). I had come in and gotten my hair done and the owner assured me that she would let me know the recipe used for my hair and would be happy to help me find an SD hair girl. After repeated messages, the owner would never reply to me letting me know what "recipe" she used on my hair. This honestly made me feel like since she knew I was moving, she didn't care to help me anymore. Even if she was the best artist in ATL, I can't support a business that doesn't value their customers in this way or care to help past a one-time appointment. EDIT: The owner personally reached out to me to apologize and mentioned that she realizes communication is something she needs to improve. Thank you for reaching out.

She was very straight forward and understood what I wanted without complications. I wanted my hair out of my face, half up with curls. I did not get the name of the wonderful young lady who did my makeup. She was very honest about what she could and could not do and did a great job. I wanted a basic cat eye with fake lashes and foundation that will cover my redness. I do recommend you bring pictures of what you want. It will help the staff and if you are like me, sometimes it is hard to express exactly what you want. I paid $125 for both makeup and hair. I will come back!

When booking, the reservation said to allot 1 hour for hair and 30 minutes for makeup. My entire appointment was less than 40 minutes. I ultimately do not feel I was listened to or that time and attention was given to me. Further, my blowout did not last long. The bounce and waves were beginning to fall out of my hair before I even made it to me event that night. For makeup, I specially asked for a natural look, stating my face does not do well with much makeup. I explained a horrible past experience and feel my time with Heat was nearly a repeat. The stylist rushed through the application and did not even have my wash my face before beginning. She said she would be applying neutral and nude colors but I ended up with extremely dark eyes and chocolate colored lips. The look was completely opposite of what I asked for. For someone who doesn't invest much into self care, I expected more of this appointment. It was my first day to myself after having a baby so I was prepared to leave feeling confident and pampered. I left feeling extremely ashamed of how I looked. It was a wasted $90.
