We returned a couple of days later and tried the beef enchiladas and ceviche. The enchiladas were great and the ceviche was some of the best that I've ever eaten. Great execution!

The ambiente is great. great food as well. The service was nothing special for a small place was taking log time to get to ours table. The drinks wasn't good, I returned my first drink and the seconds margarita is on top five worst that I have. For Mexican restaurants margarita sucks however is nice place with great foot. Definitely coming back once I'm in MY.

Delicious Chuletas Asadas - pork chops and yellow rice! I loved it!

I had the Spanish platter which was delicious! Another time I had the pastelon, which is Spanish lasagna. It's out of this world delicious. The pork chops were delicious too! They are a nice place for going out on a date. They have all kinds of drinks and happy hour and all different types of Spanish food. Puerto Rican, Cuban and more.

No! They've gone downhill big time! 50% of the time I go here they get my order wrong or totally forget part of my order ! Tonight was another night they forgot part of my order ! I'm done! I advise you to go elsewhere! I told the MOD (Manager on Duty) what happened and he did apologize and I asked him if he could accommodate us in anyway and he repeatedly said I'm sorry... I'm sorry it's not enough for missing part of your order again ! I ordered mussels .... This is 2nd they forgot to bring them .... Well they did arrive more than 30 minutes later ... I refused them There was one other couple at the bar and three other tables .... They were not busy! Inexcusable! A male from kitchen left the bathroom when I was done my business and reached for the hand soap there was none. Sooooo the kitchen person could not & did NOT wash his hands! Super bad experience AGAIN! Liz our bartender was great!

    Pastelon...huge and delicious

I have to say that sol y luna was a great. The food was excellent. The ambience is amazing and the service is exceptional! Crystal behind the bar knows exactly what she's doing, what to recommend and how to keep people entertained. The food was super tasty and well worth the money. We will definitely be going back every time we return to Myrtle Beach. I could not recommend it more!

My family and I came to Myrtle Beach for a short vacation and wanted to fulfill our "tradition" of eating getting mexican while we were here. In the past we have dined at Abuelos, but unfortunately we weren't impressed with Abuelos our last visit and wanted to try something different this trip. I read decent reviews about Sol y Luna, so we took a chance. The interior and ambiance is very lively and it is decorated with modern Hispanic art, etc. the restaurant itself isn't huge, but they do have outdoor seating. We dined on a Friday night and were seated quickly. I will say while we were seated quickly, we had to wait about 10 minutes before our server even came out and asked for our drink orders. The water that the four of us ordered took longer than expected to arrive. And by that time we were ready to order our food after reading the menu. The complimentary chips and salsa came out after our orders had been placed. The chips were good (not greasy) and the salsa was fresh and salty. For our appetizer we ordered the shredded beef nachos supreme. Our server gave us small plates for our nachos about 5 minutes after we ordered them. We thought we'd be getting them soon because of that. But we ended up getting them about 10+ minutes later. They were attentive when it came to replenishing our chip supply. When the nachos arrived we dived right in. They were great! The shredded beef was very flavorful and the jalapeños added an ice kick. The whole table enjoyed them and would recommend. About another 10ish minutes later our entrees arrived. My father ordered the beef chimichangas and he enjoyed the Spanish rice that came with them. The rice wasn't the typical Mexican restaurant rice and was packed with flavor. Overall he said it wasn't anything "out of this world", but it certainly wasn't bad. My mother ordered the seafood veracruz dish with mahi mahi, mussels, shrimp, and clams in a queso crema sauce with white rice and broccoli. She really enjoyed her meal and was surprised with the amount of fish that came with the dish. She really enjoyed it, and again, they didn't skimp on the amount of fish. I tried some of the mahi mahi and it was very flavorful! My sister ordered the birria tacos. They were massive! They came with a flavorful consume to dip the tacos in. The beef in them was so flavorful and juicy. They were packed with lots of cheese as well! Overall a really good dish and again, the portion was quite large. I ordered the seafood enchiladas. I knew I had to try these when reading the menu. They were 3 corn tortillas stuffed with sautéed peppers, calamari, shrimp, and crab. SO FLAVORFUL! I'd never had seafood enchiladas like this before. They were smothered in the same queso like crema the seafood Veracruz had. They were amazing and the corn tortillas made the dish even better! The portion was large and filling. I opted to get the pinto beans instead of the rice that came with them. They were not refried, but they were very flavorful and not too heavy. Overall the service was slow and our server wasn't the most attentive. But the food was decent, will return when we come back to the beach in the future!

Vera Cruz over white rice and Mojito, fresh tortilla chips, salsa and fresh sliced lemons & limes for our calamari and ceviche

Another wonderful delicious meal. We tried something new but started with 2 favorites lightly floured friend calamari with tentacles and shrimp and shredded crab meat ceviche (I do prefer lump crab and more of the cilantro and lime flavor than they had). We had the Vera Cruz dish and the sauce was excellent. The Manager Alexandro introduced himself and Our Server A was great with checking on us without being intrusive. Also the mojito was not watered down with too much ice and had the right amount of mashed fresh mint and their Sol e Luna margarita was on spot. Thank you for another wonderful dining experience. Oh and since we were there last they added a upper divider to the booths for more privacy from the bar as well as hanging plants to absorb sounds so it's not as loud sitting inside which was a nice touch and positive atmosphere to the ambience of the restaurant. We usually sit outside because of the interior being too loud for us.

The Service was outstanding, Ny was very pleasant and helpful for our party of 9. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. They have a full bar with plenty of bar seating in addition to the table seating throughout the restaurant. I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed an Arepa, an Empanada and a side odder of Scrambled rice with black beans. The name "La Vinotinto" is inspired by the Venezuelan national soccer team, whose official uniform is famously known as "La Vinotinto" (The Burgundy). From the second we walked in, we felt the vibe -- super clean, beautifully decorated, and full of that energy that tells you "yeah, this place is gonna hit." The food? Legit authentic. Not that watered-down tourist stuff. Everything had real flavor -- like someone's abuela was back there blessing each plate. My mom said the seasoning reminded her of her aunt's cooking back in Puerto Rico -- and that's saying something, because her aunt doesn't play. Drinks were next level. I ordered a margarita and they brought me what looked like a whole bucket of joy. I literally said out loud "¡Papi, bring me another!" Vacation mode was fully activated. The staff? Super friendly, super cool. Spoke Spanish with us, cracked jokes, made us feel at home like we were regulars even though it was our first time. Beautiful spot, authentic food, great people, and good vibes all around. My parents are already talking about coming back next weekend -- and we live 4 hours away.

One from our group ordered quesadillas, she enjoyed them a lot. We also had guacamole and the boiled shrimp. The shrimp was such a generous portion, it came out warm, and not on any ice, which was surprising to us. It was too hot to peel when served and so we had to let it sit for a bit. It was very good, the flavor was great however, there were a few of them that were getting mushy towards the end. If I ordered this again, I would ask them to plop them on some ice. The guacamole and chips were fantastic. The reason I took off a star was because the happy hour menu was only offered in the bar. The bar had a large private party that night and therefore wasn't really available for us. I think if you're going to have a happy hour, it's kind of ridiculous not to extend it out to all the tables. I typically don't go to restaurants that only offer it in the bar.

I did end up ordering the chicken and waffles, it was OK, but have had better in many other places. What was frustrating is they would not do the grouper as it was too early in the day. So between the lack of service, mediocre food and lack of grouper, just can't recommend this place.

It had been on my radar for a while because I was craving fried pork belly, and I'm glad I stopped. I ordered the fried pork belly to go, and it was outstanding. The fat was beautifully rendered into a silky, melt-in-your-mouth layer, while the edges were perfectly crisp from the fry. It struck that ideal balance between rich, tender, and crunchy. It comes with plantain fries, which were a nice touch. I only sampled one since I'm currently following a keto/low-carb diet, but they were tasty. The biggest surprise, though, was the restaurant itself. The exterior doesn't prepare you for what's waiting inside. As soon as you walk through the door, you're transported into a gorgeous, open dining room. It's hard to believe you're standing inside one of Myrtle Beach's historic buildings. The space is stunning, with a beautiful bar, eye-catching décor behind and around it, and even a large decorative tree in the middle of the dining room that really adds to the atmosphere. They did a fantastic job with the design. If you're in downtown Myrtle Beach and looking for somewhere different to eat, especially if you appreciate well-executed pork dishes, I highly recommend giving Boteco VIP a try. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
