It was in a Holiday Inn and seaside. We decided to try it out. Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had Arnold Palmer, and I had unsweet tea.For checking in on Yelp, we get an appetizer at 50% off. We chose the Nachos, which was plentiful. Actually all the dishes were generous portions. I got the California Shrimp with 7 jumbo shrimp and artichoke hearts. Horrible, the worst! It took over an hour to receive our simple lunch order, which included a sandwich and a shrimp taco. They messed up the order, and there was only enough shrimp for one taco. The Reuben sandwich was burnt, and the fries were cold. We weren't offered any silverware, napkins, or ketchup; instead, we had to get those ourselves. Additionally, the bar stools were uncomfortable, and the service was unsatisfactory. read more

The food in the drinking this establishment, our exceptional. But that's as far as it goes. There were four of us and we arrived about 10 minutes after five in the evening. We were the only four in the place. It took an inordinate amount of time for us to get our food. Others came in after us, sat at the bar, got their food and drinks long before we did. They're just seemed to be a disconnect between us, our server and the kitchen. Several times our drinks were left sitting on the bar and one time my sister-in-law had to go up and get it. If you don't mind slow service or bad service this is a place for you. I gave it three stars because the food was great. read more

The restaurant is in a hotel. It was understaffed for the business they had on a Saturday evening. We ordered the crab cakes and salmon. Both came with rice pilaf and "fresh seasonal vegetables." The rice pilaf was from a box, the vegetables were a frozen veggie medley and both the salmon and crab cakes seemed as if they had been frozen and heated up. With drinks and dinner our bill was $90. Expected much higher quality and freshly prepared food for those prices. read more

Went for the buffet. It was NOT as described on the website. No muffins, bread, no waffles, or waffle "station", and cold. We still had to pay full price. The service was good. I have been to Saltaire at Holiday Inn (Formally known as Shoreline Restaurant) many times. Each time I have been the service didn't meet my expectations. They are usually grumpy and don't really care about their customers. Besides that, Food and drinks have been pretty good. If you are in the Surfside area, mabey try to go more towards the entertainment district. But, if nothing else is calling your name or not open. Try Saltaire. read more

Went to go see our favorite band at the beach "Sweet Tea" at Saltaire. It was packed with people. We were able to secure a table of 8 with the help of the one waitress working. I forgot her name but for all the tables she was working she definitely was the star of the show. We ordered our meals had a few drinks. After a waiting a bit, we were told they only had one cook so it may be longer. We didn't mind as the music was great. The food finally came and was great. I had the chicken linguine, others had burgers, chicken tenders and Asian salad. The cook came out and apologized for the kitchen and she was absolutely sweet. I applaud Saltaire. The view was exceptional, but pricey and even more on the weekends. Loved their food and drinks. Especially their Black and Blue Filet tips with their sauce and blue cheese crumbles. Will return in the Fall. read more

Great if you are staying at the hotel; wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. Menu is close to standard bar fare - casual, nothing fancy. We had breakfast one morning - food was tasty, service was good; coffee was standard boring hotel coffee. Next day we had afternoon apps and cocktails for happy hour by the pool. Cocktails were good but overpriced. Generous portions of apps were pretty good - calamari and coastal fries. Overall, we love this hotel, and Saltaire is above average for a hotel restaurant. I give it 4 stars if you're staying at the hotel for the convenience of it. read more

Easy to fun, lots of parking, on the coast, friendly staff, food was good. The bangin shrimp was sooooooooo good. Highly recommend the shrimp. Fish was standard, I like the home made chips and the salad had extra dressing but the Parmesan cheese made up for it. Used the Groupon 1/2 app coupon. Great experience overall. We were staying at Ocean Lakes and needed a fast place to eat for dinner. Yelp led me here. This place is so cute! Right inside the Holiday Inn on the beach. The food was actually really good! I had the cauliflower pizza and it was huge and enough for my own meal vs app. The boiled shrimp peel& leaf was super yummy and fresh. My husband had the short rib grilled sandwich-he liked it. My son got the fish tacos and loved them. We had some adjustments on our orders. All were done perfectly. The dessert was brownie ice cream and omg the brownie was BOMB. The waitstaff is awesome and super fun and kind! This is a fun spot and great to get away from all the crazy bananas restaurants around here. On the beach. Parking is no problem. First time here I was looking for great seafood with a beach view close to Market Common. I was surprised to see it was at the Holiday Inn on Surfside beach. All the staff, bar tenders, and servers were very friendly and efficient. I ordered the Captains Catch, which had red snapper, calamari and shrimp, all grilled, plus a fresh veggie medley, roasted potatoes and corn on the cob, all were delicious - and what a bargain at $32! That amount of food was 2 meals for me! I've lived in the area for 3 years, of course with everything Covid related I have not visited as many restaurants that I normally would have, but I've tried more of the seafood ones in the area because that is my favorite food. Decided to try this restaurant in the Holiday Inn in Surfside Beach SC. Went there for breakfast. Turns out it was the very best breakfast I have had here since living near Surfside Beach. I ordered the standard 2 eggs, ham and home fries. The potatoes were real small potatoes cooked and fried to perfection. The ham was very thin sliced, not salty and extremely good. Another person would charge me a different price for a drink. The ambience is not existent. It's a restaurant bar inside of a hotel, the servers were all very nice people. I have no complaints there at all. I would've really enjoyed having some good seafood choices. Being right next to the ocean. We got chicken waffles and they are so good along with beef corn hash brown. This place is so underrated. Five stars for food and services. This place was fine. I had the dinner special - tuna tacos, and the next day I had the blackened whitefish tacos. They were fine, I don't have a good reason for having eaten them twice though. Atmosphere was weird, outdoor tables were filthy, bartender was the only one on front of house staff while a man who appeared to consider himself part of the management team neglected to assist her. The food was subpar, steak salad had some wilted/soggy greens, steak that was on the salad is just a beef stew beef. The only positive from this experience is a great waitress, Jess. We were staying here at the hotel and after looking through yelp for a good place to get dinner, we were surprised that our hotel had a great rated restaurant. The drinks were excellent and very generous. The food was outstanding!!! The lobster linguini, surf and turf and the risotto is what we ordered. I've never been so impressed with a hotel restaurant! It was absurdly delicious! And since we're staying at the hotel, we can eat, drink and stroll on the beach without having to leave the property. My wife and I ate dinner here this evening. The food was very good. I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had the blackened mahi fish tacos. The shrimp was excellent, but the grits had way too much cheese sauce on them. We also had two drinks that were very good. The Myrtle Vice was a combination piña colada and strawberry daiquiri. However, it would have been better as a dessert. Watermelon Mojito was very good. Now the problems. Like most restaurants, it was understaffed. Our waiter forgot to bring out the salad. I had to remind him when he brought out our entrées. Worst of all was the live "music." A Janis Joplin wannabe was screeching loudly. Indoors. During prime dinner hours. It wouldn't have been so bad if she didn't have her amp cranked up to rock concert levels. Yikes. It was painful. I suggest calling ahead and finding out whether they have live music indoors. Not great, honestly and I really had high hopes! Not looking for Gourmet in a tourist town but I definitely hoped for better food and experience. Maybe it was my bad for expecting too much. The food was not the best, I had a special Ahi tuna taco dish they were running and my Ahi was way overcooked (no pink, so basically like canned tuna at that point) and the toppings didn't rescue it. Worse than the food though was the service, no lie the host made me actually nauseous. First, we had a reservation requesting outdoor seating and when we arrived the host told us we wouldn't want to sit out there because "the flies are insane and they'll bite you up" this may have been true, I don't know (though I was staying about a block from Saltaire and went to that portion of the beach and never once encountered these flies). Anyhow we were okay with it even if it seemed they just wanted to close the section. The host wasn't satisfied telling us one though, he kept coming by our table exclaiming about "the flies! the flies!" Which was totally not necessary and not what you want to keep hearing about while eating. Then, he did the worst thing, he stuck out his leg and pulled the pant up and tried to show us all his bug bites from the flies. YUCK. Why would anyone working in food service think that's a good idea? We were literally eating and he was trying to show us his bug bites. I tried not to look but it really grossed me out. I cannot rave enough about this restaurant. We went on Taco Tuesday and they were delicious. They have a great selection and the ingredients paired together made these some of the best I have had. We dined outside overlooking the ocean and felt very comfortable. The lights on the patio were just perfect, I felt like I was at a resort!! This is truly a hidden gem in our community. I also need to mention these appetizer, scallops paired with the Brussel sprouts, the crab cake with sauté spinach and the avocado fries, YUM YUM. This place will not disappoint.
