(note: not to be confused with Luxe Event Planning also in the same plaza) I've been to a few tanning studios each with different machines to get a spray on tan for my dance competitions. This one has been the best so far. The location is good. Free parking in the evenings and along the side of the street. A little hard to find, as Luxe Tanning should not be confused with Luxe Destination Wedding planning, the first thing you see when you step into the small plaza. Keep walking around the pub, and you'll find it. The girls here are really friendly, courteous and thoughtful. Booking my appointment, they helped me consider the timing, and explained to me everything I needed to know before and after the tan. I was also running late,and they were able to accommodate me. What they have here is VERSA SPA. If you're going to a spray tan anywhere, not just here, try to find this machine. It's better than Mystic Tan, and this other one I tried at belliar. It left no streaking, very minimal smell, and a very natural colour. In the end I looked like the colour I became after my week long trip in Mexico. It was super easy to use with a electronic guy that talks and guides you through. Their suggestions to prep for this is to be able to shower prior. It will help get rid of excess oils and help the pH of your skin so the colour can take better. You also have an option to get a $5 prep spray. Afterwards you can also get a $5 moisturizing finishing spray. From the girl's suggestion, she said it was better to get the finishing spray than the first one, if you had to choose. Since I came in here with a Fabfind, I got both, I can't tell if it made a difference or not. Before going into the booth, you have to put some barrier cream on your cuticles or anywhere that's dry. I was confused because for Mystic Tan they tell you to put globs of it on your finger nails, and a light layer on the tops of your hands and feet. Here, she said, anywhere that's dry, thin layer. It makes sense, because then the colour goes into the creases, potentially and looks funny. Put some on your cuticle and fingers (if have lots of lines) and thin around your feets. You step into the machine, and you have to do 4 poses, (instead of jut back and front). Back, Front, and Two sides. The deep electronic voice guy will guide you and there are pictures on the side. My only complaint about this is that it's COLD. I was shivering in there, even with the heater! The whole thing took about less than 10 mins, but a bit longer before where she was explaining to me the whole procedure. The other thing that was pretty awesome was that about 2mins after I was done, the machine started to self clean. This means, no stink from the person before you, and no brown soles of your feet from the previous person. Win win for the tanning studio and for me! There are 3 colour choices, and I picked 2 (1 being the lightest, and 3 being the darkest). It was really natural looking for me and was perfect. but I may try the darker one next time. You cannot shower for 12 hours and the colour will develop over time. I did notice that after my shower, a good amount of the colour washed off, but continued to develop over time (like magic). It's been about 2 days, and the colour is till there, but my face (which I do wash a lot) is noticeably lighter. The colour comes off the more I scrub. I can't see this lasting more than a week. I fully recommend this for any spray tan, especially if you're scared about streaking and a non-orange look! read more

Went for a tan yesterday afternoon and paid $40 for a 10 mins session for one of the beds and came out looking the same as I did when I came into the salon. I decided to wait a day to see if my colour would darken, but nothing has changed. The lady at the desk advised me that since I already have naturally brown skin that the bed she recommended would definitely give me the colour I was hoping to achieve (told her that I wanted to look like I just came back from vacay - I tan easily, so I usually don't need to do more than 1 session) ... So disappointed that I wasted that much money and came out without a noticeable tan. Giving 2 stars because the salon is really clean. Edit *** I was contacted by Luxe Tanning and was offered a complimentary session with a lotion and eye wear. The bed they recommend this time was perfect. I got great colour this time around. They also didn't make it awkward when I came in to redeem the complimentary session. They were super cool and walked me through all the fancy options. Pretty good service. .. i went to do spray tan for the darkest and i didn't really get dark like I wanted. The tan still looks pretty good, good quality tanning as well. Unless u like to be just pretty much a little tan. . So i cant gjve it a 5 star sorry. Everything else is perfect. read more

I can't even begin to describe what a terrible experience I had at this place. I went in for a spray tan the other day and was blown away by what was the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The tan itself wasn't terrible, though it did come out rather orange. Most spray tans do anyway so I wasn't all that disappointed since applying bronzing cream tends to fix the situation anyway. I arrived there with no appointment and asked if I was able to do a spray tan at any point in the night. I wasn't busy at all and didn't mind hanging around for a while if they were booked, which I made very obvious from the get go. The woman at the desk told me I could do one right away and I was super happy. It was my first spray tan and I had a lot of questions about the procedure, wanting to go over it another time to make sure I was clear. For whatever reason the woman was super annoyed with me that I was asking these questions and made me feel like I was unwanted and wasting her time. She then belted out in a super-agitated tone that her next appointment had arrived, implying that I needed to hurry up. At this point I hadn't even been in the tanning room for more than 10 minutes and she was already trying to rush me. Since I was so flexible and open to waiting I feel as though she should have told me how much time I had to tan and let me know when another appointment was coming in so I was aware of how much time I had. When I left I apologized to the woman just to be the bigger person she grunted and moaned and gave me a huge dirty look. So its safe to say I won't be back. I get that maybe you were annoyed but the customer should never be put in a situation where they feel demoralized. read more

I first started going to Luxe about a year ago for spray tanning. They were having a special so I ended up purchases 6 spray tanning sessions. When I first went in the girl at the front desk was extremely informative, and easy to talk to. She showed me all the moves and left me to enter the booth. I was very happy with the results, I did have some orange on my hands but I guess that was my own fault for not putting on enough of the blocker-cream. After about 6 months I decided it was time to start using a tanning bed since I was feeling overly pale in the winter months and needed some colour. I have been tanning in the past and have a pretty good idea of what I want and want I need. The girl I spoke with when purchasing my minutes seemed a little nervous (which happens to the best of us), but also extremely pushy. I am not sure if they're working commission but I do not like being pushed in to purchasing something I do not want. I was very clear with the amount of minutes and the type of bed, and I do understand that it's good to explain to the customer other options. But at a certain point I felt annoyed, and had to cut her off. Overall, their beds seem pretty clean and I do enjoy using the spray tan booth. It is a little expensive, but I guess that's what you get when there isn't many tanning place around. read more

I've been to Luxe Tanning three times all for spray tans. The girls at the front are usually super friendly and informative if you need to ask them any questions about the process and how it goes. They are even very friendly in bringing you to the back where the tanning machine is, showing you each move and then letting you get in to try it yourself. The first I went I was really nervous and therefore had some orange spotty parts on my hands..however the second and third time around I was really aware of which spots needed to be worked on and it came out perfect! There tans always leave you glowing and feeling great and they usually do come out great if you follow procedure and are very careful with application on your hands. You do go home feeling a little sticky however I have found that the tan ends up applying really well and won't go aware for two weeks. On the downside it is about $50-$55 bucks for one which is the only reason I gave them one less star. Aside from that this place is a great addition to Liberty Village and very recommended! read more

I've been tanning at Luxe for 8 months now, after I became a member and signed on with the unlimited monthly tanning contract in September. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It's a great location, there isn't really any other tanning salon close by, beautiful atmosphere, always clean, reasonable prices, great beds, and knowledgeable and friendly staff. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for a bed so it's never too busy which I love since I don't make appointments when I tan. read more

I go to Luxe because I work in the area and was looking for a tanning salon I could use while on lunch. The beds are really good and clean, so are the rooms and the salon overall. Its a beautiful place. However I have to say, I don't know if its the neighbourhood, but the front desk ladies, are not so friendly and borderline condescending. Im surprised because everybody seemed to say that the girls there are very sweet and friendly. I have a membership, I go there 3 times a week, and she couldn't remember me to save her life - even though she is the one who sold me my membership and she is the one I'm seeing everytime I go there. You could blame it on "lots of people" but lets be honest here : the salon is EMPTY. I really like the place itself - but i can't say the same for the people working there. So far the worst service I ever had in a SPA / Salon environment. read more

My fav tanning salon so far! I've been to a good share of salons and Luxe is by far a top quality salon that will not break the bank. After a few months of on and off tanning I did the monthly membership. I love the cleanliness and the friendly girls that work there. There is deodorant, body spray and sanitizer in every room which makes it convenient. The open sun bed is amazing, one tan in that bed is better than 3-4 sessions in a regular bed. Overall I love this salon and I would recommend it to anyone. read more

The girls at the salon are super nice. I had two spray tans there. It was my first time, so the girl really took her time explaining what to do in the booth. However, the tan does not last as long as they advertise. I purchased the most expensive spray tan ($50 per session), it was suppose to last up to two to three weeks, but it was coming off in patches upon the 3rd day. Which is very noticeable on my legs. I am 30 years old, and I have smooth skin, and I followed all the instruction for care. But it still comes off easily, if i scratch my leg, or by towels. Second time was even worse. I don't think I will get another spray tan again. :( read more

I have tanned at Luxe for 3+ years and can't say enough good things about the Studio. It is always clean, the staff are friendly/ knowledgeable, and their products (beds and lotions) are top of the line. Having a fair complexion naturally, the high quality beds help me get tanned faster than other places I have tried downtown and I am a huge fan of the Versaspa spray tan. it is an amazing way to get a natural looking boost of color that goes on evenly and lasts about a week. I would recommend Luxe to anyone who is interested in tanning (UV or Spray) at a clean studio with an overall great atmosphere. read more

I've been going to Luxe for a while. The customer service is always great. The staff is very knowledgeable about the products and services. I can usually get an appointment when I need it, but if not, they are usually pretty flexible. Recently they changed the bulbs and the beds are always clean, but lately the place just seems a bit tired. I used to always walk in and feel the glitz and glam, but that feeling is fading. Maybe it's because I've just been going here for a while. The locks for the rooms are broken. I've mentioned it, but they seem to be aware. I used to go to Goodlife. If you live in the area, worth checking out, but don't venture from afar. read more

I am ok with the beds and facilities. However, I find the staff very cold. Every time I come in here the girls have an expressionless look on their face, they don't look up but just stare in the computer and rarely smile or show interest. It makes me feel awkward and it makes the place unfriendly. read more

Went in for my first spray tan ever and the two ladies working were absolutely fantastic. Was so impressed between explaining how everything worked and calming my anxiety. (Because let's be real....when you're pasty white, all you worry about is coming out looking like you just took a bath in Doritos.)
