No PT session is ever the same and she challenges me at every session to do more than I think I am capable of doing. Ciara customizes every session based on how I am doing and always gives recommendations on ways to improve and get better. Because of her sessions, my knees have improved, and I am able to go on much longer walks and I am able to do my day-to-day activities with greater ease. My hip issues have improved dramatically. RISE in Solana Beach is a small PT office but they do a great job in their space to provide an hour of great, personalized PT care. I am fortunate to have found this great office and Ciara close by.

One issue was the room was very small, so I would be hitting my body when getting up. The PT or PTA should have moved the table out but I think they moved so this problem is probably resolved. My 2nd issue is one of the Pt or PTA used so much pressure that I had a black and blue bruise and was in a lot pain. My mom, a registered nurse, wanted me to go to urgent care as the bruising was really bad. My 3rd issue is after my prescription ran out from the doctor they told me I so come back for 12 PT more visits. They did not ask me to run that by my doctor at all. I ran it by 2 different orthopedic surgeons who said no wait until after surgery for more PT. The company then called me to schedule even though my doctors said to wait. From my experience, I do not think high of the PT at Proactive at all.

It is crazy to me that they would not pay this money back and I have stopped using them as a therapist in the future. Select Medical Corporation (the parent) has received 1 out of 8 favorable reviews at BBB, where it is unaccredited. I am telling everyone I know not to use Select Physical Therapy in Del Mar. When I started having extreme pain in my back and legs, my doctor suggested that I go to physical therapy as a way to help control and elevate the pain. At first, I was extremely nervous because it hurt to move my body any which way I turned but after my first session with Carolyn, I knew I was in the right hands. I also knew that some days I would have to push through the pain as it would the only way to truly heal but Carolyn made even the toughest and most painful of days not feel so bad. She came up with exercises and a daily routine that would help to mend my injury and made me thankful to be able to move my body again.. even in the slightest of ways. She is also the sweetest person - Beyond friendly, super compassionate and you just know that she really cares about your progress and doesn't view you as "just another patient" - She is a true gem! The entire team here is amazingly helpful and personable but I also have to give a huge shout out to Marea and Mary as they were also a crucial part of my healing process.
