I spoke with Michiko as I'm going through a divorce and she was able to provide clarity on things holding me back from my ideal life in ways I had never considered. To be honest before I went for my appointment last week I did not fully know what tantra was however, felt intrigued. Now that I have gone can give you an honest assessment of the session. Wow! It was a mind-blower! Michiko is an incredibly sincere, honest and caring parson. I have been practice yoga for over 10 years, but it was my first Kundalini couple yoga workshop and I was little nerves when I arrive to the workshop. After a small talk with Michiko, she welcomed us warmly with open arms and I felt so secure and comfortable to focus on the class. Michiko is very gentle and has a lot of patience. She adequately answer all my questions with smile! She guided me into where I never visited and taped into the sensation within my body. I felt a deep connection with my fiancé who are taking a class together. It was a magical moment! I felt it. Now I learnt how to approach chakras to build/use energy and knew how to re-visit the deepest sensation in my body. It works great for a couple as well as yourself. Thank you for welcoming me in your Workshop. I must confess that I was totally in the dark about the existence of such kind of yoga. However, since I came across the word Kundalini, my desire to know more about it hasn't abated. I have scorched my fingers on my laptop keyboard just trying to see if I can find articles written on Kundalini to see if I can find a way to activate mine soon enough. It is exciting that there is so much energy existing at the base of our spine and that all we need to do is to find a way to ignite it. About the Kundalini itself, I was surprised that the yoga could have negative or positive consequences on the body of an individual once Kundalini has been unlocked. As such, I am very determined to ensure that I take all the required measures, which will guarantee unlocking Kundalini with positive, as opposed to negative consequences. I am also particularly intrigued by the power of Kundalini to give an individual psychic ability. therefore, it is unlike other yoga since it links the physical attributes of the body to the spiritual aspects. The ability to link spirituality to physicality, therefore, gives the potential of unlocking the mind and the heart of an individual. I am amazed by the different life perspectives that I am already starting to explore as a result of attending the workshop. It is intriguing just how much Kundalini has the ability to change the lives and perceptions of an individual. Through Michiko's guidance, an individual can find themselves forgetting about their old self and focusing so much on the new feelings and sensations brought about by the practice. The fact that it has the potential of impacting the general livelihood of an individual is a testament of its strength. I am also an individual who is usually deeply spiritual. I have long been interested in finding the solution to the conflict between pursuing a spiritual path or focusing on the physical things that I can see and trust. I have, however, come to understand the importance of linking such a powerful yoga to spirituality. The main reason for doing so is to ensure that people who eventually get to unlock their Kundalini energy get to use it properly in society. Hear me out. I once ate insects. Not willfully, of course, but was deceived by friends in a foreign country. I was asked what I thought of it. I said it was quite delicious. They all started to laugh. "Do you know what you just ate?" I admitted I didn't, and they confessed to me what it was I just ate. Well, the look on my face must have clearly relayed the fact that I was not amused at having been deceived, and had I known what was in the dish I would have declined. They assured me it was quite safe and even healthy, and that people have been eating this for millennia. In other words my personal prejudices would never have allowed me to ingest that dish had I known the "ingredients" prior to scarfing it down. Who knew? But those disgusting insects were, ultimately, quite tasty! The reason I bring this up is to compare it to a tantra lesson I recently took with Michiko. We'd all have to admit that there's a lot that we just don't know--we haven't done everything, seen everything, know everything. There are practices, traditions, theories, philosophies, etc. that are outside of our knowledge base or our own comfortable terra firma. Yet just because we don't know much about them doesn't make them any less real or valid or true. We don't understand quantum theory or string theory, or relativity, so we outsource them to the experts who do. Michiko knows tantra. What ARE chakras or kundalini, or tantra or neo-tantra? Admittedly, I don't know, but I'm smart enough to know that I don't have all the answers, and that there are other, different, more esoteric pathways to unlock our potential as human and sexual beings, and that if possible and willing one should investigate areas beyond our personal comfort zones. So if you're an explorer or an adventurer you should go see Michiko for a session (or more), and let her take you on a deep dive to internal places you've probably never been to before. Check your biases, skepticism, doubts, preconceptions, inhibitions, intellect, formal education, and ego at the door, right before you take off your shoes, and get ready for an extended three-hour joyride of intense connection with Michiko as she patiently, kindly, and skillfully guides you through your first session and introduction to tantra. You will breathe deeply, you will stretch, you will meditate, you will stare intensely into her soulful and wise brown eyes, and you will start to feel something (gradually, almost imperceptibly) moving within that you just quite can't pinpoint what it is. Just go with it. Next is, as others have commented, a deeply reinvigorating back massage. It's not a massage in the typical sense that Michiko will rub out the knots in your back or relieve the tension in your neck with vigorous assaults to those areas but one of intense relaxation and inner peace. It's hard to describe in words how wonderful I felt after the massage, how renewed and fresh and free and peaceful were the sensations both during and after. Again, here you just have to drop all preconceptions and intellectual prejudices because during the massage she will chant, hum, vocalize, and sing quietly while she's working on your back and thighs. Let her do her thing. She knows, and we don't, so enjoy the ride and luxuriate in the bliss of the occasion. The last 30-45 minutes of the session is kind of difficult to describe, although it's still quite clear in my mind. For me, I had to suspend my disbelief in what I was seeing and experiencing. You may achieve results at this juncture, and you will see things that will undermine your understanding of how the human body works, what it's capable of doing and any previous experiences you may have had. I was astonished and intrigued (in a good way) to bear witness. This is something you'll have to experience for yourself, and you be the judge. And you just may want some of that inner power for yourself too! Michiko is graceful, composed, kind and knowledgeable (and she has a great sense of humor), and during your session you will develop a deep connection with her that may surprise you. A few days after your session you will get an email from her with individualized exercises and other homework with the aim of increasing your kundalini and unblocking chakras. You should be diligent and do your homework. At the very least, you'll be more limber and flexible, will do some deep breathing to get the blood flowing, start getting in tune with your body, and for me because of one exercise she recommends, my stomach muscles have become tighter and I might have lost a few pounds. That's at the least.... At the most, who knows? That's up to you. You might be surprised at what we're capable of. I left there feeling like a million bucks with a bounce to my step and deep inner peace, and the high was tangible, real, and sustained. So I took a step into the unknown by eating "insects" again, taking a neo-tantra lesson. Both were delicious. You should try some. read more

Michiko is the Obi Wan Kenobi of Tantra and a true Kundalini Yoga Master!!! To many the words "discipline" and "freedom" might seem paradoxical but in the safe, judgement-free and nurturing space that Michiko has designed, the two words are synergetic. The more committed I become to the studies, practice and exercises, the easier it becomes to activate a mind, body and spirit that is constantly liberating.
