I was so impressed with the service that we received from Solar during our home buying process! They were very clear with us about how backed up they were on scheduling surveys due to both illness and the need to honor scheduled vacations within their company and we knew that our survey would be close to Christmas Day. Our on-site surveyor did an exceptional job marking all the property pins as well as sinking additional needed pins that we didn't request but because it was the correct/professional thing to do! Top notch work! When we touched base with them to find out when we would receive our final reports, they again apologized for their backlog and assured us that they would have reports to us by our closing date. I thanked them for their onsite work, taking care of their staff during the horror-show that has been the last year, and told them that I wished I could give them extra time for completion. They went above and beyond for our family and actually returned our final reports at the end of business that same day. Unbelievably kind and giving! The reports were clear, professional, and easy to read. We cannot recommend this company highly enough. There isn't a single company within the realm of real estate/land development/construction that isn't working beyond capacity in the last 9 months and each of them are doing so with regular staffing shortages. For a business to take care of their employees, turn out exceptional work, and still take the time to care for their customers is a rare, gem indeed! Trash they will screw up your survey and it will take a while and a lot of going through other professional surveying companies , the county, and courts to get it fixed. This a true statement please don't hire this company to do a survey and they will not fix their screw ups they so call claim that the company is under another name with the son in law. read more

I needed a survey of 9 acre property and requested a quote on 12/22. On the same day i sent over the Deed and the older property survey I had from the house purchase. I've had to make numerous calls and emails with untimely responses just to get a quote. I was promised a quote the evening of January 4th (Monday). After a few more follow-ups i still had no quote as of Wednesday January 7. I called McClung Surveying on that same Wednesday. They pulled the dead and the survery on their own and had a quote over to me in 2 hours and i have it scheduled for next week. We are trying to put a pool in and these folks put a 2 week delay into the process just to get a quote. I recommend you use another survey company. read more

Paid for a survey, but never received a receipt despite the charge going through on my card. Called a week later asking for a receipt and to let me know when they would be coming out. Still didn't get a receipt and no one called to let me know the schedule. Gave them another week and called back and they hadn't even scheduled me yet. I asked for a refund which I am waiting on now. Given the tight timeline of getting my yard redone, this may have set me back a year. Avoid this company as they simply do not care about their customers! read more

We are moving. Unbeknownst to us, our buyers hired this company for something, I'm not sure what exactly. We were never notified they were coming, never asked permission from us (being the current homeowners) to be here, we didn't even know until after we looked at our cameras! Well, they left our gate open when they left. I never thought to check our gate because I wasn't notified they'd be here. I got home and let our dogs out. Our dogs escaped. I sat inside cleaning and didn't even know they were gone for almost an hour. Thank God we found them, but it took nearly 50 people over 3 hours and now we are out reward money. Well worth it for my wonderful dogs and so thankful for the woman who found them, but had this company responsibly left things as they found them, it would have never happened. Careless, irresponsible, unacceptable. The manager did very kindly apologize but unfortunately that's only words and does not change what happened. If my dogs had gotten hit by a car or gotten hurt or died... I just can't even think about it. read more

We received communication about the timeline and the gentleman completing the survey was professional and thorough. We received our completed survey so fast and it was EXACTLY what our pool company needed. The staff at Solar Land Survey were kind and responsive. Yes, survey companies are swamped right now, but everything was perfect for us. Great companies are busy companies, right? I've never experienced such horrible customer service in 20+ years of home ownership and 25+ years in the property management field. 13 years ago, they worked diligently with me as I built my home. This year, in need of additional services, I naturally thought to contact them. The goodwill they generated from my past experience has completely evaporated and turned my goodwill into sheer frustration. My current need isn't a simple survey, which is perhaps something they are no longer equipped to handle but because I have been met with countless unreturned phone calls and emails by a brick wall of an office manager, I will never know! Sadly, it seems they are only equipped to receive automated survey requests through their website, and no longer able to tackle projects that might require a greater effort or time commitment. To top off this infuriating experience, I requested a copy of my as-built survey (which they had originally completed), so that I could forward it to a surveyor who might actually be able to assist me, and the response I received was "due to the age of the project, they cannot release the file". When I asked why that was, and offered to pay for a copy, guess what their response was? Shocker - I received no response at all. read more

I called and asked to speak with someone who can give solid advise. I describe what my scope of work would be and asked what all is needed in my survey. I was told I would be sent a proposal. I receive the proposal called and paid. I ended up taking the survey to on expeditor to get things going but was told I'm missing items from the survey. I had to go back to Solar and explain again what my intentions for the house was and was told a higher price tag and of course more was needed than what was initially proposed. I was told that it would take 3 weeks to get it done. Not only were they trying to charge me more than it should typically cost (because their guys are going back out, so I was told I had to eat the cost). I was told I would receive it Monday...today is Tuesday and I have no survey. The deadline for the UDC is today and I stressed that initially. No recommendations over here. In fact I received this today via email: Good Morning, While processing your survey yesterday, our senior drafter notice he did not have all the necessary points to finalize your project. We had to dispatch a crew out to the subject property this morning to collect additional data and once he sends that information into the office we will finalize the drawing and forward the finished product to you today. Sorry for the delay and any inconvenience this has/or may cause. 8/22/2018 I'm adding to this message because I cannot leave another review. Today is Wednesday and still no survey. read more

I have tried to give Solar Land repeat business several times, and they simply won't return emails nor phone calls. I wanted to build upon the survey they did for me 4 years ago with additional layers and details, and I am being forced to start from scratch because I can't get a response. I used Solar Land Surveying to mark my property lines and setbacks. I chose them because their price was better than a couple of other quotes. They performed the work promptly and gave me a detailed survey. I did have to call them back out to set a couple of pins but they did that promptly and even added a few property line stakes at no charge. read more

Please save yourself valuable time and money but not using this company! My husband and I used Solar during a renovation project. They provided a land survey and site development plans for use in acquiring a building permit. Deadlines were missed, emails not returned, all while being charged for various items that they either neglected to include or needed to revise. At one point we were told that a report would be ready by a certain date, only to be told that the person who promised it never relayed the request and was now on vacation. Our builder, architect and structural engineer all commented at how unprofessional they were. They have caused our project to be delayed by over a month. Lesson learned after a huge expense! read more
