First they couldn't come out until November (almost 1.5 months) just to do the estimate. Then, they have a $2500 minimum for doing work ("we're a small company", they said). In my particular case the budget/minimum might not be an issue (I don't think it's a small job). Got them to come out next week because my issue is somewhat urgent. About twenty minutes later they called back and said I was already in their database. They don't know why. The last time I had any landscape work done was several years ago, and it was not by Shady Grove. They assure me it's because they've already come out to provide an estimate. But they have no other records. They only have my name and contact information. So, because I'm in their system, they wanted to charge $75 because they "must" have come out before... No thanks. I am an fairly organized person. On a lark I searched my email history and, lo and behold, I find the email thread with Shady Grove. From 2011. Where I *CANCELED* my appointment. So, because of their poor record keeping and a need for $75 not only did they lose an entire project but they also earned a negative review and lost any potential for future work. In the grand scheme of things looking at their other reviews on other sites it's clear that they do quality work. But I can't deal with this kind of silly shenanigans.

Whenever Fern saw something that was not up to her exacting standards (even if we thought it was fine) she would have her team break it down and start over. I foolishly agreed to this, because he was making it sound necessary to finish the landscaping and he was clearly not offering to pay for his own mistake. I like some things that were planted, but the overall look is not at all what I expected (I acknowledge that the guy walked me through it, and I just decided to trust him). My husband hates everything about it.
