I live in houston and if you know the nail shop milano you know it's nice but they might seem expensive to some people. However this nail shop in waco charged me $92 for shellac, pedicure , and 2 overlays on my big toes which i never paid before. I was already annoyed but i had somewhere to be that weekend so i left it at that. Couple days later my fake nail on my overlay chip over a minor thing and when i asked if they would fix it they said it would be a $7 charge. next thing you know a couple days later my other overlay nail came completely off. It's always clean there and staff are very friendly. I don't care for the old lady piano music they play continually end up with my earbuds in. It feels rude to Lynn but the only way it's tolerable for me. I drive 45 minutes JUST for her service. The prices are quite a bit higher than the place in my city but ok, I guess. I have been going to the same nail tech for the past five years and being out of state, I had to find a place that could do my nails same day. This is absolutely the place.! Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. They literally got me in 30 minutes after I called and Kelly did my nails, she did an excellent job. Tai did my pedicure and I generally don't get pedicures because the techs are usually too rough, but he was very gentle, thorough and very friendly.! My entire experience was relaxing and enjoyable! I have been twice. I get builder nail gel. They don't fill it's always a complete removal. My nails hold up well and last about three weeks. A small issue with language but other than that the salon is ok. They do use the same files and buffers on everyone. read more

This was my fist time coming to solar nail. I loved the salon the owner Philip left a good vibe loved his attitude! I just didn't like how the technicians did my service. On my pedi my big toe was cut at an angle. Also when I was getting a gel mani I was cut when they were pulling my cuticles. I have only recently gone to a new technician which works from home, as she was "trying" to soak off my nails she came to find out that MMA was used on my nails which is illegal and isn't supposed to be used!!! This stuff can cause infections and ultimately ruin your nails. My new nail tech had to soak them about 5 times for it to come completely off. I went there to get my nails done for the first time yesterday and they did not disappoint!!! When I called to make an appointment, whoever answered the phone was really kind and offered suggestions and was very helpful and willing to answer any questions I had. I knew I wanted a design, so when I came in I showed her the pictures, she had me sit at Amy's station (number 7) and I am SO GLAD she did! Amy was very attentive and really took her time to make sure the shape was to my liking and worked hard to make sure the color and design of my nails was as close as possible to the picture I showed. I have learned over the years to be very particular about my nails, and any time there was even the smallest flaw that I could see, Amy would fix it before I even finished my thought. I like solar nails and the owners Philip and Kelly, but you do have to get the right nail tech for you. A couple I don't prefer are Sunny bc of his attitude (I read another review so I know it wasn't just me) and the older man. Kelly and Ty are the best at this time in my opinion. They do a good job of thinning the nail near the cuticle and around the edges where it doesn't come loose easily. I think it's important to tell any tech what you like the first few times you use someone, even though I don't like to sound picky. But it's so expensive now, I am!! If they don't listen, choose another one next time till you find the one that works for you. Don't use the older man here for nails or pedicures if you're picky. You won't be happy. But overall I say give them a try. And you get a drink as well. read more

Giving it one star cause the first time I went my nails came out amazing and they charged me $115 (what they said they would on our instagram messages.) I got my nails done again but this time it was something way more simple and shorter than last time no rhinestones or anything, and they had told me $90 on our messages, got the service done and didn't even get offered water (which was offered to everyone around me) but the nails came out really good so I didn't complain, when I went to pay they told me it was gonna be $125 and I told them they had told me $90. They told me they charging me more cause of the "length" and "shape" (which I've never been charged for shape) when I messaged them again and told them on instagram they told me they charge $20 for length(which they weren't that long) and $10 for shape (the nail tip they glued on me already had the shape) and told me they'd give me "a $5 dollar discount" which I ended up paying $120. I've also gotten a pedicure and still didn't get offered water or anything till have the service and the man that did it filed the side of my foot so hard it opened my skin. Came here for the first time due to being in Waco for the weekend and really needing my nails done. They couldn't do the color I wanted because they didn't have it which is fine so I chose something different. I was seated with a nail tech, then moved to a diff seat a few minutes later and then moved a final time. By the time I got to the third person I had shown a picture of the nails I wanted multiple times and this person was going to do something completely different. This nail tech was extremely rough and I pulled my hands away multiple times because she was hurting me. My nails didn't even come out to the design I wanted but they will do for now. This was a complete waste of my money and I would not recommend them. Literally find anywhere else in Waco. read more
