If there was a negative star rating I'd rate it a -2! I took my 8yr old for an unplanned spa day. $15 for her nail paint, literally no clipping, shaping, cuticles, buffing, massage, lotion, NOTHING but paint. The technician didn't even remove all her paint from her previous nail painting. I didn't want to cause a scene or I would of told them take that ** off and not paid! I 100% DO NOT recommend Ocean Nails the only thing nice was the building and decor, they are over priced and half fast. Don't act disappointed when y'all give them a try! I Do Recommend "Nails Of American" on New Road. At least the only bad thing about them is they are often busy. And for me, not just down the street. But set an appointment and you'll be fine. My pedicure was no better! They began with skipping steps like the salt soak, and when I brought to their attention they threw some salt in the water 2 mins before draining the water. So much for a soak! Skipped the massage but claimed the massage was when he rubbed the exfoliating cream on and rinsed it off with the water my feet were sitting in. I asked to stop half way after only one product was used and asked how much for what he did (hot water, french tip polish removal, nail cut, cuticles, & exfoliating cream) & owner proceeded to tell me full price!! I explained to him he skipped things and I was not happy with my daughters nails he still told me full price for both. I told him ok, I might as well get the rest of the products done since I HAVE to pay full price. Alex, rubbed the "hand lotion" from one of the manicure stations, and right away wiped it off with my "warm towel". Asked if I want color I looked at my nails and said no thank you. He said your done. The worse $55 I spent on a $35 pedicure. And worse $15 Childs manicure which should have been $5-$8 I spent. No one even thanked me as I left, of course I didn't leave a tip and of course i will not be returning. Good luck if this place is your choice, it's definitely a hit or miss spot. read more

Had to find a place that my daughter and I could meet and have a "spa day". After research we made appt and had the best time together getting a mani/pedi. I was impressed with friendly staff, the quickness they got us in (this was a Saturday afternoon) the service was extra special the way they massage your legs, feet and arms. My nails were exactly as I requested. It was hard for me to go to another nail tech but in order to have the companion of my daughter I had to I could not of found a better place. Since we have been back and will continue to go. The place is very clean and service is great!! What a deal for Waco when I have to drive 2 hrs! read more

I just received the worst pedicure from Michael. This guy had no clue what he was doing. When I made the appointment I asked for Sammi because it looked like she did a great job one someone when I was there last. She is on vacation so I asked for someone else who is really good but I got stuck with Michael. He did the whole fake pushing back the cuticles, he did the whole fake smoothing of the top of the nails. I got absolutely no foot massage. He rubbed the same spot on my calf so long I had to tell him to stop it started feeling weird. I get home and still have tons of dead skin on my feet. I'm so angry I wasted $30 here. Now I have to either redo my feet myself or pay someone to do them again. I'm going on vacation and this put me in a crappy mood! read more

Really like this place. I've recently relocated back to Texas after being away for over 10 years. Relocating from LA, I had my favorites who faithfully did my nails and my feet in my previous neighborhood. Saw that this place had good reviews so I wanted to give it a try. Came in today, a day before thanksgiving, and it wasn't packed! I had my gel nails done right away! Lynn, my nail technician, was wonderful! She's very professional and did a really great job. I love when I don't have to guide and direct when I sit in a chair. For example, she did three coats automatically on my gel nails. Sometimes you have to tell the techs of when I'm sure they know they should lol. In addition, the establishment is clean and they are organized! All of the staff where the same red shirts with their logo on them. That's how you do business! Definitely coming back to this place. #winner read more

This was my first time to Ocean. The Good: -Building is nice -Convenient location next to a hair salon -My nails turned out great -Lady who checked me out was very sweet The Bad: -My nail tech kept stopping to text and answer his phone -When it was over he basically just told me to sit down and don't touch anything. I've had my nails done a million time and I know they need to be under the lamps for a few minutes but he didn't turn the lamp on and just left the place. I finally asked someone if maybe the lamps should be turned on and the woman turned them on for me. It was pretty obvious that he was busy with something else and so I guess I was hoping someone else might notice and help me out when he just left. It was just awkward. I'm sure this is a one off experience but I can definitely say that I've had experiences other places where I didn't feel annoying and I prefer that. But it seemed like other woman were having a different experience so, I would probably still go back and give it another try. read more

My daughters and I came in for a last minute mani/pedi while in Waco. Overall they were really nice- only 4 stars are because of the mixed service we got between the three of us. One of the ladies (not sure of name) gave my daughters a bag of gummy bears which was surprise. We had 3 different people give the manis and that is where the issue happened. My youngest and I had a great experience but I just found out (the next day) that my oldest never got the warm water hand soak or arm/hand massage. at the time I asked the lady the redo her accent nails because there were obvious lines in the polish. She added another layer to all of the accent color when I brought it up but without a top coat. not sure why she skipped some steps for my oldest. overall good atmosphere, nice people just be observant if you bring in young kids to make sure you're getting full treatment. With the high rating I expected to have a great experience here. Unfortunately that was not the case. I called ahead to ensure they could take me late in he afternoon and they agreed they had space and time immediately. When I came in I ended up waiting despite the fact there were several employees hanging out. The man that came from the back to complete my fill in was coughing and wiping his nose on his hands. He was rude the entire time, sighing when he nicked my skin and handling me roughly. He didn't speak to me at all, but did laugh a lot with his coworkers while avoiding any possible eye contact with me. He also got offended when I got up to wash my hands as soon as he was finished, making several loud statements in my direction. My nails were rushed and definitely look the part. I am so disappointed. They are literally right up the street from my house and I was hoping to find a new salon to frequent. It won't be this one. read more

I only gave one star b/c I had to do that in order to write a review. Do not go to Ocean Nails unless you want to be completely ripped off. My 16 year old daughter went in for a mani/pedi and spent $110. My daughter asked what the prices were (I was on the phone with her). Throughout her visit she was asked if she wanted certain things w/o being told that there would be extra charges. The charges were ridiculous. My husband and I went to inquire about their business practices today and basically the bottom line was that they took advantage of a kid. My husband asked if they truly believed that the product she walked away with was worth that kind of $. They wouldn't answer. It was a yes or no question and they just kept talking about other stuff. At one point the man raised his voice loudly at my daughter. I am truly astounded with the way they handled the situation after admitting that they did not clearly communicate with my daughter. I went here to get my nails done for st Patrick's day and she did wonderful. I got acrylic white tips and she was very careful and did a fantastic job. This will be where I go from now on when I come to visit Waco. read more

This place was awful! I only needed the basic pedicure which included trimming, cuticle removing, massage. The guy that did mine went as quickly as he could! Barely trimmed the nails and very minimal cuticle trimming! Polish had streaks and bubbles! Will never go back!!!! read more

staff was great but services were not. received dip and my nails cracked shortly after leaving salon. 6 days later nail have been cracking off. spent $115 on nails to chip and a pedicure that wasn't great. and received gel on toes when I asked for regular polish but still had to pay the extra. read more

This salon has to be the worst one I have ever been to! I waited over a half an hour for an appointment that I had made. When I finally was attended to, I was so disappointed from the time I sat down. The man who did my nails, a fill, was in an extreme hurry, as if I was inconveniencing him by being there. He was very rough & tore up almost every cuticle & hurt my nails with friction burns when using the drill. When I said something about the pain, he said I must have sensitive nails. (I have been getting my nails done for over 20 years, and I'm a former OPI educator) Also, he did not fill all the way down to my cuticle, when he was done it didn't even look like I had anything done. My nails were bumpy and not smooth at all, and it showed thru the polish. I brought MY OWN OPI GEL POLISH, and they wanted to charge me $38 for a fill with my own gel polish, so I opted for just regular polish because I thought was just an excessive cost for providing my own gel polish. When I told the manager I was not happy with my nails, they simply said, "I'm sorry", and walked away. No offer to repair or fix the mess he made. I ended up going straight to the salon in Walmart, and they had a heck of time fixing my nails due to the crazy amount of acrylic that was put on my nails. Needless to say, after paying for TWO FILLS ON THE SAME DAY, my nails look awesome now - thanks to Regal Nails in Walmart! When I walked in, I was so happy - I thought I had found a new nail salon! Never again will I go back. Don't waste your time or money on this place, they obviously don't care about customer satisfaction - just the money they can rake in. Do yourself a favor & GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more

I received a gift certificate for this salon and received excellent care and service. I treated my mother and myself to a pedicure. We were both taken care of quickly and efficiently. The salon was quiet and clean. The staff was professional and welcoming. The prices are great and my nails stayed perfect for over a month. I would recommend this place to friends in the area.
