Julian from SolarTech Industries is very knowledgeable and explained everything in simple terms so we could understand. He made it easy for us to decide what we wanted. Wes and his crew, along with Leighton and his crew did a wonderful job with the installation. We highly recommend them for your solar needs. Mahalo!

Absolutely thrilled with my recent solar panel and battery installation by SolarTech! From start to finish, the process was seamless. The team was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain every step, ensuring I felt confident in my choices. After getting quotes from several companies on Oahu, I chose to go with SolarTech since a couple of co-workers recommended them ah they did business with this company. Julian R. was my sales associate, and he held a lengthy professional presentation/meeting with my family and myself and answered every question I had. He gave me an up-front proposal with full cost, savings and ROI. He also gave me multiple options for several different brands of panels and battery systems and six different price ranges from low to high. I was never pressured into any specific brand or system. Also, I felt Julian R. of SolarTech was the most personable sales associate of all the companies I was looking at, for example he didn't just take look at our electric bill, he asked what are our needs, what appliances we run, what will we run, what did we want to get out of the battery system, and what kind of uptime do we expect to have. Julian always made time for anything I needed or any questions I had. I appreciate the entire team who helped on this project. From sales to technicians, I have to send shout out everyone they were all super friendly and helpful. Further I appreciate how fast this was done. I signed the contract on September 4 and as soon as the building permit posted just yesterday, and the job was completed today. I also appreciate the attention to detail and customer support I received. I never had to leave a message because Brandi A. (project manager) and Jelly B. (project scheduler) answered every call and question. Even during the install all the technicians and electricians were super personable and friendly, they talked story with me and answered any questions I had. Ikaika (electrician) even offered to pick up our dog's "poo". Lane one of the teams technician was experienced and took the time to scope and plan everything out. SolarTech doesn't mess around there was about 15 guys here on the job and they treated my house and property like it was their own. I appreciate that. The particular system I chose was a 20kw system Meyer-Burger panels with an Enphase battery system. I chose Enphase over all other brands mainly Tesla because #1 the Warranty of 15 years instead of 10 on other systems. #2 the support for Enphase because my last system was Tesla solar panels and I can't give Tesla support any positive marks. When my Tesla system broke it took multiple calls over an hour to get someone on the line to actually talk to. They pass you from machine to machine and it took over 2 weeks to get a replacement inverter when it failed once. I dreaded calling their support line. #3 Enphase's multiple redundancies compared to other brands single system and built-in inverter. #4 the Enphase system unlike Tesla's, is split into smaller Battery Banks and each bank has 4 inverters for High Availability. Lastly the panels, I was going with Maxeon panels but I felt that the better bang for buck was with Meyer-Bergers, plus the promotional discount SolarTech offered was the way to go. I have a piece of mind now knowing that I am not reliant on HECO's service as much and won't have to worry during those terrible frequent outages. It feels great to contribute to a greener planet while enjoying the financial benefits. Highly recommend this SolarTech's service to anyone considering solar energy! I highly recommend giving Julian R. a call at SolarTech. Tim C

I was left with no service provider. I called a couple of companies and they either couldn't provide service or the information given was really no help. I called Independent Energy and Sean-Daniel listened to the issue I was facing and provided excellent care. There were a lot of hoops to clear but Sean-Daniel guided me through the whole thing. Then to top it off just as the Tesla battery was finally ready for replacement, my inverter stopped working. Through our communication, I simply asked if that was also something they could help me with also. I simply had to provide some information and they took care of the rest. I was kind of left on my own with the previous company, but Sean-Daniel and Independent Energy really guided me through the replacement process and took care of me even though they were not the original installers. When I first contacted them, they were very responsive, came out to our house multiple times to check it out, and even offered very reasonable and competitive pricing. Installation had a few hiccups because our house is old, weird, and probably very hard to work with, but we're very happy with our system. All the kinks that the team had to work through were fixed/solved in a very timely and quality manner. The only problem we had was getting updates between signing our agreement and installation. Understandably we waited pretty long to hear anything about installation due to the overload all solar companies were experiencing due to the federal tax credit being cut next year. Our drawings were back logged, not because of HI Power, but because of the approvals they were waiting for. But I had to reach out to multiple people at multiple times before someone could explain this to me. This really stressed us out for a bit that no one was getting back to us, but once they explained all the issues they were facing, everything worked out perfectly. I would still like to recommend this company compared to other bigger companies based off of my parent's and grandparent's experiences.

Midway through summer, I found that out when my entire system went down when it failed. I reached out to Chris from Ecosolar right away and let him know that I was having a problem and he started troubleshooting immediately. After some investigation it was determined that the inverter had to be replaced and after waiting for Tesla to ship out the part, it was replaced in a timely manner. I was back up and running again, until December when my system started acting up again, this time seemingly having a problem with one of the batteries. I contacted Chris again and let him know that I was having a problem again, and although communication was rough with the end of the year approaching and federal tax credits expiring, I had a service appointment scheduled for the first week of January. On their site visit, it was determined that my new Powerwall Plus itself had gone bad. They were able to start the RMA process with Tesla and told me it would be replaced, possibly with a new Powerwall 3, because the Powerwall 2 was end-of-life and not in production anymore. That meant they would also have to replace my original Powerwall 2 as well with a new Powerwall 3 expansion pack. They hoped optimistically that I wouldn't have to wait too long for the replacement. Fast forward to April and it did take longer than expected for Tesla to send them the replacements but the good news was that Tesla did indeed replace both of my Powerwall 2 units with a new Powerwall 3 and expansion. This did require much more work on the part of Ecosolar to retrofit than just unplugging the old setup and swapping in the new one, for my particular case, and I appreciate the extra lengths they had to go through versus just having to swap out the old if Tesla had just sent a Powerwall Plus replacement instead. I had been down for a few months but the upside is that I have a brand new set of batteries now in 2026. I would say my solar journey has been rougher than I expected it to be. Parts have failed. Parts have been replaced under warranty. Yes, I've experienced periods of time where my PV system has been offline due to failures, and had to deal with big HECO bills until those failures were resolved. I've had two Powerwalls replaced under warranty in the last 7 years (technically 3 since they swapped my still working Powerwall 2 with a new expansion pack), and an inverter. I had problems with weird glitches with power that kept tripping the Powerwall into thinking that I was experiencing a power outage, that Ecosolar's technician helped to diagnose and find out was actually a problem with HECO's underground service feed into my home (which was another years long adventure with HECO altogether). Sunpower's PV control system got booted offline and needed to be reset remotely. Each time I've had a problem I've contacted Ecosolar and each time they've addressed it to the best of their ability. Yes sometimes it takes time to get things resolved, and it can be hard to be patient. Tesla seems to take awhile to get things sent here but they have always come through thus far too. My additional cost for all of their warranty work and service over all this time has been ZERO. Every single problem I've ever had has been addressed. It's great if you can invest in something like this and never have a problem, but I understand that things happen when you're dealing with new technology, and it sucks but sh*t happens. But when you do invest in something as expensive as solar, it's good to know that I've invested with a company that takes care of it's customers.
