I contracted with Matt and the installer he represents, Radius Energy, to install two systems for the two homes on my property. The installation was full of issues. Under sized inverters, electrical code violations, no permits and no licensed electricians. It was clear that the installer's ethics were questionable. The final blow came when I was told that their contractor for submitting PG&E rebate applications had missed the rebate program deadline 4 months ago! I had been inquiring about the status of the application for months. This rebate was worth $15k and cost me $600 to have them apply for it. Matt has since backed away from this failure on their sub-contractor's part, suggesting I contact the CPUC. I would seriously recommend that if you're looking for solar, look elsewhere than Solar by Sexton.

(Just like those doctor reviews that complain that his staff was rude, or wouldn't schedule an appointment, etc. - We still don't know if the doctor is any good, right? If he's the guy who can save my life, I'll work around his nasty staff...!) - Bendix installed our solar system and it has been working great. Rather than put it on our roof we had it installed about 100' down a hill on pedestals, and it has functioned perfectly. The installation was neat and professional. All wiring is wrapped and secured in place. He even ran a water line there so I can wash the panels now and then. The crew was polite and efficient and cleaned everything up, no construction debris anywhere. I had 2 quotes, and his was the lowest but only by a few hundred so price wasn't a factor. Glad I picked them!

I need help with my generator so when the power goes out, as it often does, I'm not left struggling for air. But I can't get a response from this highly recommended electrician. The owner is a 27 year old kid in Dubai and they hired crew from the valley and got rid of us, the long time install crew without even formal layoff paperwork. I've now been informed by both of the electrical supply houses in Sonora that APS stiffed them both for thousands of dollars each. I'm sad to see a business that I worked at fail due to incompetent new management. For any former customers seeing repairs or service to their APS installed solar systems please feel free to reach out. The equipment has manufacturers warranties and I'm very comfortable diagnosing and repairing our systems.

Nate and Hayden came out for an estimate to install backup batteries and suggested we apply for the SGIP program to subsidize the cost. We found an amazing company to help with the application, and after months of effort, we secured approval and notified APS. That's when things fell apart. Communication from APS became sporadic at best. Nate and Hayden would occasionally respond with vague promises to start the installation "as soon as they finished their current project." The receptionist, Ashley, seemed unaware of any delays and repeatedly assured us we were on the schedule--but nothing ever progressed. Despite our $32,000 contract, APS showed little interest in following through. We made dozens of attempts to connect, but were met with excuses, silence, or--shockingly--hung up on when they realized who was calling. Because of the lack of connection with APS Solar, the batteries approved by PG&E's SGIP program were discontinued. We went out of our way to secure these batteries through the inventory department. Guess what! Nate and Hayden ordered the batteries--and then continued their ghosting behavior. Did they get them for someone else? It's baffling why APS would ghost us after a signed contract, especially for such a significant project. Whether it's a lack of expertise or poor internal management, something is clearly wrong. After reading similar reviews about their ghosting behavior (unfortunately, after signing our contract), it's clear this isn't an isolated incident.

I've been emailing back and forth with Stephanie, and she is just wonderful. She sent me a proposal I could understand, and answered any questions I had. I talked to her today on the phone, and again she was very helpful. I'll be using these guys when I move in. I'm glad my journey of looking for a solar company is over.

I called last week because we had a mini-split installed (DIY) and needed a technician to come out,…read moretest the lines, check the electrical and turn on the unit to test it. When I called, I was treated very nicely on the phone and was able to schedule an appointment within 48 hours. Diagostic appointments are $89 during the week and $149 on Saturday. Our technician, Wes, was very professional, on time and easy to talk to. He came out and checked the unit (we needed a different fuse) and turned the unit on and got it running. I was very happy with the service from the ladies in the office to Wes our technician. Just a heads up, they have a monthly maintenance plan ($12.95 a month) that they will try and sell you. It includes an annual check of your A/C unit and of your heater. Any additional work or service calls are then 20% off. Just an FYI, if it is a good deal for you, then I would suggest getting it, if not, they will still service you. Thank you Honey's for making our experience a Sweet One!

Walk down what they will be doing and always listens to our concerns as well. Today we got to meet Lorenzo, the tech that will be servicing us today. Just wow, what a nice guy and thorough as well cleaned our unit like his own. He also showed us some before and after pics. He also made a suggestion when he found out I had bad allergies and saw the 3 air purifiers throughout the house. lol. He recommended us to get the unit that plugs into out HVAC unit. So far I'm impressed of the install and can wait to see if it makes a difference, it should and kill any bacteria as well. Anyways I hope this review helps, tell them yelp sent you!!

I finally contacted him after a month of promises and asked if he was planning on coming out anytime soon to repair my system, move my existing solar panels and put panels on my business location. I received a text not a call back saying "dude I'm not your guy"... WOW... he could have been a decent guy and told me this a month ago so I could get someone else! Never judge a book by it's cover, he seems like a good guy but I'm not convinced.

I had my system installed in December 2025 and wanted to wait a bit to see how SS and GoodLeap handle follow-up on the project, Closeout issues, and customer service follow-up. Since my December 2025 installation and the January 2026 activation with PG&E, I have been more than happy with their service. I had put off getting solar for a while (bad decision on my part), so when the $1,100 PG&E bill came in last summer, I knew it was time for a change. Solar Sesame's pricing consultation was pleasant and informative. I had done plenty of research, so I knew my stuff, and being in Construction helped as well. Both their Sales Rep and Installation Lead were informed and knew their stuff. My Project Submittal documents to the City of Danville were professionally done. The building permit was obtained quickly, and the installation was completed within a few days. We did have an initial hiccup with the materials delivery; it arrived too early, but SS had it picked up and redelivered the following week. All in all, a solid performance from Solar Sesame!

We have made multiple phone calls over the years needing assistance with system issues and were constantly told someone would call us back. Those calls rarely happened, to the point that my husband drove 40 miles to their office just to speak to someone in person - with no resolution. Because SIG solar failed to provide support, WE had to contact the inverter manufacturer, twice in the past few years to get the system functioning, something the installer should have handled. When we just recently realized that we needed our roof replaced, SIG solar charged us $8000.00 to remove and reinstall the panels. We had to pay it because we did not want to do anything to jeopardize our warranty, effectively forcing us into this expense. This company appears focused on sales, not long-term service. For a major investment like solar, this level of non-responsiveness and lack of accountability is unacceptable. Experiences like this are why homeowners rely on consumer protection and contractor oversight agencies.
