This has been the worst contractor I've ever had to deal with. First of all, originally Quoted me…read more$10,000 for installing my solar and ground mount for a system I already bought. By the end of the project he wanted $18,500. When I asked for an invoice to show why the price increased so much, he became Angry with me and stated "do you want me to count up every nut and bolt?" to which I replied "yeah otherwise how would YOU know what to charge me?". He only finished the job part way and I had to finish the rest. Also, when the county Inspector came for the final inspection, Kyle acted very suspicious and requested for me to NOT be present for the final inspection because he " grew up in the same town" as the inspector. I can only assume that meant it was questionable if the final inspection would be passed. On top of all this, he complained the whole time about installing my system, blamed me for everything, and took almost 8 months to finish this simple project. I would Highly discourage anyone from Hiring Kyle for Anything. Edit- Due to the inability to reply, I am making this edit. -Kyle was first contacted about the project mid October 2025, and no project was started before him. Only contacting contractors to receive quotes was done prior to Kyle accepting the project. - If I was originally quoted $10,000 for the project, and the price increased almost double, it would be reasonable to ask for an itemized invoice which Kyle was unable to provide and became very agitated when asked. - I was present at home when the inspection happened, but was requested by Kyle to stay inside, and not interact with the inspector for an unknown reason. - I responded to confirm what the final price was, but did not agree to it, and the original contract signed states if there is any price increase, there must be a new contract signed by both parties which never happened. That coupled with the inability to provide an itemized invoice suggests that the numbers Kyle came up with were arbitrary at best. - a cement pump was NOT required. Kyle originally stated they would hand mix and pour the concrete footings, then stated he could not get the concrete bags, and elected for a pump because it would be easier for them and per Kyle "it would be the same price". - Correct there is still an outstanding Balance of $1500 not paid to Kyle. Due to the job not being finished (battery Grounding wire not installed, inverters and data loggers not set up etc.) and there being no new written contract agreement signed by both parties, the last $1500 for the project was withheld. -Kyle's crew had used my pry bar during the concrete pour, broke the tool, and never replaced it. -concrete work was extremely messy and excess concrete was randomly dumped near the site. These were my biased experiences. I wish Kyle Dean electric the best, and hope they improve for future customers.

We couldn't be more happy with our solar system installed by Velocity Solar. From the start, their…read moreservice was top notch. They built out a system for us that made sense for our usage, and also specialized in a very specific panel type I was looking for, which is a hybrid Solar PV + Solar thermal (heat) for pool water called CoolPV. Velocity actually paid for our June PG&E bill while we waited for the system to be completed. They fielded any/all questions I had throughout the process with timeliness and total transparency. We're now enjoying a system that is producing an abundant net credit on the energy side (~38-45kW/day from a 6.7kWh rated system) so far through the summer months, producing with incredible efficiency; at the same time keeping our pool heated at an amazing walk-in 88-90 degrees (we were normally seeing 78-81 degree top water temps this time of year w/o heat). If you're on the fence about purchasing solar, I would highly recommend Velocity for an honest, transparent assessment on whether solar makes sense for you. With PG&E woes continuing into 2020 and beyond, we've traded our insane utility bill for a fixed monthly payment and a 30% tax credit (last year for the 30%!) that will have the system completely paid for in only a few years time. Thank you Conner & Eddie at Velocity for the great experience; and to Jason, a Velocity sub who specialized in the CoolPV install for completing the pool heat portion of my install.
