This is one of the best sports bars in the area. I have been to Solberg's Greenleaf several times. I have had good food during each visit and they usually have a good beer selection. I stopped in yesterday for dinner and they had their fish fry. I went with a combo which had cod and perch. Both were very good. The beer selection was not as good as previous visits but they still had a better selection than most of the local bars. Friendly service and plenty of parking.

Fish fry combo: perch and cod.

Ho. Lee. Cow! We stopped in for dinner, expecting to get burgers, and were surprised to see that they offered a Friday fish fry! There were several options to choose from, but hubs and I both chose the combo, which was cod and perch. It came with tartar sauce, slaw, a slice of rye bread, baked bean medley, and your choice of potato. We went with fries. We both got beer cheese, and I got ranch as well (extra charge for both). I went with a coke and then a Dr. Pepper, as I needed the caffeine pick-me-up, and hubs started with a beer flight, and then had a pint. The fish was cooked perfectly. The breading was that golden, bubbly cover, versus typical breading. We were both given three pieces of each. The tartar sauce was very tangy, and I had to go easy with it. Hubs ate the slaw, and the rye bread was nothing special. The fries were spot on....somewhere between a straight cut and a steak fry, they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The ranch was delicious, and the beer cheese was a bit strong, but in a good way, with a slight beer aftertaste. Neither of us could finish it all, so we left with a container of leftovers. If you're in this part of the U.P. and want a great fish fry. Solberg's is your place! I look forward to a repeat visit! 17/2025

    Broasted buffalo wings

Wings were massive and reasonably priced. I had the buffalo bone in broasted. They were very busy and the bartender was very friendly and attentive considering how slammed she was. Will definitely stop back. I stopped in on a Tuesday but Monday's they have all you can eat broasted wings for a very good deal.

    Wednesday - Steak Special

What a joke! $15 dollar special turns into $50 dollars in a hurry! Ok yes I did have a pick ax blonde and a twisted tea and added onion and mushrooms but where is the spaghetti??? And the steak is gone in 3 bites... lessons learned never again

Loaded Mac and cheese (sorry it looks so dark)

Last night was our first time here and we were overall impressed and highly satisfied! The place itself looks small from the outside but offers a ton of seat when you get in the door. You have to wait to be seated. But the wait staff is super friendly and super helpful. They have daily specials and a huge menu. The menu has several different food options, like burgers, handhelds, noodles, Mexican, etc. There is also a large list of different beers and drinks they offer. As far as the food taste, it's awesome! I had the loaded Mac and cheese which was definitely loaded and delicious! My fiancé had the bacon pepper jack burger which he said was one of the best burgers he has had. Plus the fries came in the cutest little basket. If you are in the area and looking for a place to stop at, I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed!

The ambience to the restaurant was nice and it felt clean and updated inside. I can't recall the exact price of everything, but I do recall that everything was priced as I would expect. Definitely not overpriced and everything was in line with the average rate. All the food was great. The cheeseburger was great including the bun. Sometimes you don't do so well with those. Someone else got macaroni and cheese which was awesome. I actually was a little surprised that it tasted so good because that is an always so great and restaurants. The pizza got great reviews by people. And a few other males did well. The couscous meal was ok. Now for the people. I will acknowledge that finding help these days is very difficult post pandemic. There was a younger teenage girl working as the hostess. While she may be young, somebody really does need to train her on customer service. She initially told us that they were waiting for two table tops of 16 even though the two tables of 16 had already been seated. She told us that we would not be able to eat for an hour but we cannot get a table for another hour and a half. Obviously this doesn't make any sense. You have to have a table 1st and then you can eat. She told us it would take an hour and a half for the six of us to be seated even though there were plenty of tables open. The thing that makes this bad, is even if she was totally mistaken, and totally wrong, she was very rude the entire time. There was no smile, her tone of voice was pretty crabby, and she definitely did not make you feel like she was going to do anything to try to make it work for you. She seemed somewhat grouchy and irritated that you were coming in to eat. I would have no issue if she had said this and clearly been wrong, but her tone of voice and everything about her customer service was wrong. She did not appear friendly and definitely did not smile or look like she was trying to accommodate. She presented like a sulky teenagers. After giving a few solutions to the hostess of how we could use one of the several open tables available, she finally figured out how we could be seated immediately since there were so many tables open. We ended up being served by Thale, Who is a total gem. She saved the meal. The server was not only nice, polite, and friendly, she was humble and made you feel welcome. A far cry from the hostess a few feet away. The server was on top of her game, refilling drinks, and stayed very on top of our meal to make sure that we had everything we needed. She was charming and made the meal awesome. I would definitely come here again and I would hope that somebody in management considers talking to their hostess about how to provide better customer service. Other than that, everything else was great. The server should be acknowledged for her friendly and outgoing attitude. The food is great so nice job to the cooks on the line.

Let's start off by our server coming to our table without introducing herself or welcoming us. But…read moresimply just said "what do you want!". If that was any indication to what the rest of the meal was like we should've left then. So we came in for a Friday Fish Fry. We ordered two Walleye's and one Perch Fish Fry. And to say that our fish was burnt is understatement. Please see photos of the madness. We immediately asked for the entree's to be recooked. They brought out our fish a second time and at least they didn't look burnt but there is a reason. They were undercooked. Not completely raw but undercooked. At this point just don't serve any more Fish. You obviously can't prepare it correctly. The manager explained "that it looks dark because of the spices in the batter". Cause that's a reason why food looks and tastes burnt. We paid, left a tip and went to another restaurant in Iron Mountain to wash away the taste of what we just experienced. I know this resort is up for sale and all I can say is to the new owner willing to pay the $4million price tag. Please focus on this restaurant and kitchen experience immediately.

We weren't very hungry, but even if we were, what we ordered would have filled us both. Each had a very hot bowl of French Onion Soup which was delicious. It was full- bodied, not overly salty, with a nice bread covered with very bubbly, browned cheese overall. We also split a Black and Blue Gorgonzola Cranberry salad in which the good-sized piece of steak was nicely charred, and tender, and the greens fresh and plentiful as was the cheese crumbles and bacon. What really made it delicious was the absolutely delicious balsamic vinaigrette (maybe the best I've ever had and that's saying a lot because I am a salad fanatic)! The waitress was very nice (though the other woman wasn't so friendly). The only thing that wasn't great the ambiance. The ceiling is so high and there was a table of four women who were so loud it was hard to have a conversation at our table of two, and no one else in the restaurant. The walls are very bare and the tables look like they were haphazardly arranged. But who cares much when the food is so good, and the prices exactly reasonable!.
