Huge shout-out to them for keeping the energy up and making it memorable for the kids (and for us!). It was shocking to see the reception area almost empty during the season -- we honestly felt bad for people who traveled from out of state expecting a full winter experience. But despite the lack of snow and the weird season, the tubing itself was great and the team on the hill truly made it fun. 5 stars for the people who are still out there doing everything they can to make the experience enjoyable! I was in park city visiting some family and we were looking to go tubing and found soldiers hollow. It was $36 a person for a 2 hour time slot which they were very strict about. We got there about 1:50 and they made us wait til it was 2 on the dot before we could start to make our way to the top of the hill. It looked like they normally have about 6 or maybe more tracks but there was hardly any snow so they just had 3 of them open. It was so busy too so you had to wait such a long time for your turn. Whenever there is hardly any snow and half the tracks are not even open they really should offer a discount. 3 runs in our 2 hours there. Not worth the price. read more

Seeing other reviews I can see how it wouldn't be fun. It depends on when you go. We went earlier evening time. On a Wednesday. Went for 2 hours between 4-6 pm. There wasn't anyone hardly there. We didn't have to wait for a hill to go down. It was fun. I have done the walk up the hill and sled down style as a kid. This way riding an escalator to the top is the only way. We were able to go down at least 15 times in the two hours. The workers were easy going. When we were getting ready to leave, that is when everyone and their dog were starting to arrive. Took the fam sledding. It was fun, we had a good time. It was expensive, for around $50/person for 2 hours of sledding. The magic carpet takes roughly 7 minutes, then the lines at the top take another 15-20 minutes. In 2 hours we went about 6 times, we even walked all the way up twice so it was faster than standing in the line at the bottom and riding the magic carpet. The working crew didn't seem super efficient, there were long periods of time we'd just stand around waiting to get the okay to go. There seemed to be a shortage of staff or something. Then they said the snow was too fast, so they switched everyone from green to black tubes which we nearly stopped 3/4 of the way down. We barely made it to the bottom. It was lame. They only allowed single or doubles with the green tubes and with the black bottom tubes we were able to go as a group of 3. Maybe this varies depending on the weather. To take a family of 5 and have it cost $250+ is spendy for sure. read more

This place is a winter activity staple. It's a little pricey (more so on the weekends and holidays) but well worth it in my opinion if you go with a fun group! There are 5-6 different hills to go down - none too different than the others but all vary a little in speed and slope. Kids age 3+ can go making it a great family activity. You need to reserve a time slot in advance. Show up a little before your slot to go into the lodge and get your passes. Don't want to waste your slot time there! They have an electric belt that you can stand on with your tube to go up the hill but you cannot walk on it. The belt does occasionally stop for a few minutes due to rider complications so we opted for walking up to not risk wasting time. First time here in January and I was super happy with what they have going on. Free ski fridays? What?! Like that exists? That's a thing. Oh man it was the most fun I had on whim. I had just flown into town and needed something to pass the time. Sadly the tubing was fully booked but free ski sounds better to me anyway. Check in was easy and the staff downstairs were super helpful in getting you the skis and poles. Now onto the real deal. You're really out on your own.... No one to help you! No cry for help. I would not recommend going during the busy days/busy times/busy season. We did more waiting in line than actual tubing. There were so many people at the top waiting making the lines unfunctional. For 2 hours we went down about 3 times. I would also say the customer service was lacking, especially with the associates outside running the operations. Lanes kept getting closed down as time went on. Also, there was a rule change that you couldn't go down in pairs unless you are with a child under 10 years old. It would have been nice for someone to communicate to us why, that would probably result in less guest frustration and negative questioning. As a novice nordic skier, this was one of the most enjoyable sporting experiences of my life. I downhill ski often and participate in endurance sports whenever I get the chance, but there is something seriously special here if you're in shape and approaching the intermediate ability range for xc skiing. The course was groomed well, barely skated off, and almost empty, despite the parking lot being near capacity and the tubing hill looking packed. The course design is the best I've skied on, with the rolling portions for most of the "upper" portion of Soldier Hollow being absolutely thrilling. Tons of optionality, miles and miles of trails, and some difficult climbs. Prices are reasonable (maybe even cheaper than tubing?) and the staff is nice. read more

Horrible experience! Do not go sledding here We were visiting from Texas and took our kids sledding here. The entire process to check in took so long that we only had 45 minutes by the time we got on the mountain. Then the line was so long on the lift that by the time we got up we had 20 minutes left. There was not enough employees working to even run the mountain. Then the lift broke and they told us if we wanted to sled we had to walk up the mountain (we have 5 little kids). Part of the reason we paid $40pp is because of the convenience but nothing about this experience was that. We went down the hill 2 times and talked to employees after, they couldn't do anything so they gave us the owners name and email. We contacted her and she was so rude and unhelpful. She wouldn't do anything or give us a refund. Also there was a line of people behind us that day also wanting a refund. Do not go here, very disappointed read more

Overpriced - paid about $1/per second of tubing per person. You're better off getting a group, renting a snowmobile, and towing sleds up a hill. You'd certainly have more fun and get in more runs/sled time. Overcrowded - they need to either reduce bookings by at least 20% or add at least 2 lanes/runs. Poorly managed - unannounced closure of 3 lanes (half of their total lanes) for 30 minutes (25% of your paid time slot). Surely you can plan/operate better than this after more than a decade open. Staff - most of the staff were nice, but a couple were quite rude, yelling at us for moving slower than they'd like due to us lugging small kids around with us. We will not be back, and suggest you spend your time and money elsewhere. read more

Been wanting to take our kids here for so long but couldn't get ourselves to spend the money, as it is very expensive. This year we finally decided to splurge for my husbands birthday. After 1 hour we only got to ride down 1 time. When we got to the front of the line the next time they told us they were closing down the slide and we couldn't go down after waiting 25 mins. Then they cut the amount of slides you could go down in half (3). And we had to go from the front of our line to the back of another. With the same amount of people being there you could imagine how much longer we would be standing in line with half the amount of slides open. They need a better system to get people down quicker. We went in to complain and ask for a refund but they refused. Waste of money and time. Even if we got down 1 slide each hour, we would be paying $80 for each ride down with our group of 4. Manager wouldn't even come out to talk to us. Don't waste your time or money. Way better experience down the road going to midway crater and for a fraction of the price. After emailing them about our issue (they sent us away with an email to email the manager) this was their response after asking for voucher to go a different day since half of their tubing lanes were closed. Everyone in the group had a great time. Those who hadn't been before were pleasantly surprised by how much fun they had. It's the perfect group activity when there is snow outside. On our first run we made a train with 8 people and it felt like we were going 15-20 mph down the hill. It was amazing. We eventually made a train of 13 people-our entire group! It's important to know that we went during the 4-6pm slot and towards the end they would only let us make trains of four because it was getting icy and very fast so groups couldn't stop at the end. So the 6-8pm group didn't get to experience the joy of long trains and the line may be slower since only groups of four can go at a time. Pro tip: lift your bum off the ground for speed and safety! There are chunks of ice sticking up on the path and the feel like rocks when you hit them. Very painful. read more

Overall a terrible experience. Overpriced, overcrowded, poorly managed. During our 2 hour slot, we were only able to get 3 total runs in. This was largely due to the fact that they let loads of people in, but only have 6 runs going - they need to either reduce the capacity allowed in each slot, or get 2+ more runs/lanes built. However, to make things worse, about 1 hour and 20 minutes into our 2 hour slot, they announced they were immediately closing 3 of the 6 runs for grooming, without any warning/heads up. This meant that everyone in those 3 lines had to suddenly join the 3 other lines, and the people at the very front who'd already been waiting 20-30 minutes for their turn suddenly had to get in the back of line for another lane. They could've given people a heads up/stopped people from queuing up in those lanes, or closed 1 lane at a time, or blocked time in between scheduled slots for grooming, but instead they decided to close 3 lanes for 30 minutes - aka closing half the runs for a quarter of our paid time. A couple of the staff were also fairly rude. One yelled at us to move faster up the hill to the lift, as we were trying to get our 4 and 6 year old up the hill with their tiny legs. Another told us to hurry out of the way literally 1 second after we finished our run and our 4 year old was trying to climb out of the tube and get walking. Overall, a very negative experience for us and absolutely NOT worth the money spent. We will not be returning, and would recommend you spend your time and money elsewhere. If you have a large group, you'd be better off renting a snowmobile and towing some cheap plastic sleds up a hill - it'd be the same price if not cheaper, you'd get more sledding in, and I'm positive it'd be a better time. read more

When I heard the tubing was scheduled in 2 hour blocks I was skeptical but turns out it was the perfect amount of time for us to get in several fun runs & wear ourselves out. Looks like during summer this is a golf resort and in winter there are all snow activities possible. My review is for the Nordic Center. I got a gift certificate last year that I had not used yet and thought it had expired but luckily not. I am new to the sport, just trying to learn and have a good time. The check-in process was easy and personnel very friendly and helpful. However I was expecting proper tracks where I can practice and it was all pretty messed up and icy. I fell several times on ice and that was not pleasant. Also, and maybe because was during Christmas day, there were too many people with different levels of expertise. read more

I've been here a few times and each time I have to try to focus on the positives/enjoyable aspects, just to avoid all of the negatives from ruining the fun. WHY ARE ALL OF THE RUNS NEVER OPEN!! If you are going to charge $30 for 2 hours, and allow as many people as there were this past Sunday, you need to have all 6 runs open. We each went 5 times in two hours, that's $6 per person per 30 second tube ride. A few options help make this a more enjoyable experience: 1. Get rid of the kid at the top of the conveyor sitting in a tube doing nothing all day and the kid with the orange stick at the bottom who just stares at your and says "I don't know" after staring at you for 10 seconds after you ask him if masks are mandatory (maybe then the price can be lower?) 2. fix the air filled safety tubes at the bottom of the runs (because apparently that is why all 6 runs weren't in operation). 3. Lower the number of people allowed to register per two hour session 4. If you can't lower the price, have all of the runs open so people don't feel like they got ripped off when they leave. The runs are super fun and fast and long and you can connect with other people in your group for a speedy group ride, which is hilarious. This place would be a zillion times better with a faster lift. We waited 20 mins in between each run because the lift was painfully slow and the line was humongous. Reservations were required for 2 hour appointments so call ahead. We had fun and were able to get 4 runs in. It wasn't crazy crowded but the line to get on the mover was slow. You can also walk up the hill on your own but it was exhausting only one person per party was allowed inside to get tickets and it was not me so I can't report on that. There were signs asking for masks while in any queues but not many had masks on but we were able to keep a good space between groups and enjoy the fresh air. We had a lot of fun overall read more

Sorry to say it, but definitely not worth the time or money to go tubing here. For $25 per person, we were only able to go down the hill four times. The moving walk way that takes you up takes 7 minutes each time and you have to wait for the person to get completely out of the run at the bottom before tubing down and going down was extremely slow. No speed at all. I would recommend this for only little children. The hill is a not a steep incline and there are no jumps and barely and bumps. The "bumps" slow you down a lot and takes the fun out of it. Unfortunately, this was not worth it. read more

I've never posted a negative review before, but our experience was so bad I have to warn others. We brought a huge group up to tube and my family had been before so we were excited for the outing. When we arrived there was nobody working on the hills and it was snowing pretty wet snow. Having grown up in Utah, and an avid skier, I am aware that companies do not control the weather. However, the SHN Center was doing nothing to mitigate the conditions. I tried three times to tube down the hill, but ended up literally walking down because my tube wouldn't go more than a few feet before stopping. I spoke to the manager about the lack of prep on the runs for the conditions and she said that the lanes are prepped every morning. I would venture that wasn't true as we were there at 9:15 and saw nobody on the hill. But even if it was true, it clearly wasn't adequate. She refused a discounted return ticket and basically said they don't control the weather- which I understand, but they certainly have a duty to provide customers with an actual tubing experience OR close if they are unable/unwilling to do so. Absolutely do not recommend this place. If you want to go, do not buy tickets in advance as your ability to actually tube at all will be based on current conditions as the SHN Center does next to nothing to provide a good experience unless the conditions are naturally good. read more

I'm surprised this business' Yelp rating is so low. I went tubing with my fiance and another couple, and we all had a great time! We reserved the 6 o'clock slot on a Thursday, which was good because it wasn't busy. We never had to wait more than a minute or so to go down the fast, single lanes. The wide lanes are slower, but it was still fun. Once we did the fast lanes, we had no interest in the slower ones though. They do police you a bit. They closed down one lane "because too many people were crashing into the barrier." That was the fun part: going into this giant inflatable thing at the end. And honestly, after staying in Park City a week and researching activities (dog sledding, snowmobiling, skiing, anywhere from $200-900 to do), $20 for two hours of fun seemed like a bargain. The only issue was it was about a 35-minute drive from where we stayed in Park City. Our Lyft driver told us it would be difficult to get a ride back to PC, and it was. We waited almost an hour for a cab ride home, which cost $65. So plan accordingly for transportation if you're visiting from Park City. read more

The tubes were not sliding at all. We had to keep standing up and get a running start to then jump on our tube and go 7 feet. No joke. We had to stand up and walk at least 5-6 times to get down the hill. Nothing was being done to help with anybody's situation or experience. Anytime we would ask an employee, they would just tell us that it was this way because it was snowing. Well, I feel like we should have all been given a pass to come back on a different day then. We tried to be positive for the kids and make the best of it, but really, we were so disappointed that we paid so much money and could not even have one complete ride down the hill! There were signs everywhere telling us that we could not make changes due to the weather, however, we have to somehow book 2 weeks in advance. Nobody knows the weather that far in advance!
