Walked in, and Hailey was such a pleasure to be greeted by! She was very welcoming and recognized me from the phone call where I called to see if they had our shoes in stock. I was able to ask for her expertise on sizing and really appreciated her insight as I struggled to choose between a few sizes . She also went above and beyond adding an extra hole to make the pair my dad got a little more snug. As we were checking out, she was even sweet enough to coat our shoes with the water repellent spray to keep our shoes looking extra clean . I stopped by on a whim while walking one morning. I had been getting online ads for some cute Birkenstocks and thought I'd try to find them here. A young man helped me but I had to go and ask him for help despite being the only person in the store. He was talking to a woman behind the counter and it wasn't such a big deal at that moment. Most of the styles that I showed him on my phone were not available in the store. Lately, I am between sizes 38 and 39 in Birkenstocks, depending on the style. This was another reason to come into a store rather than order online. The young man brought me a few boxes of shoes and then excused himself implying he had something to do. I tried in the shoes, and continued to look around waiting for him to come back. He never did and I realized he had gone back to socializing behind the counter. I was planning to buy a few pairs of shoes and ask about ordering what they didn't carry in stock. One or two people came in while I was there but otherwise I was the only person there and I was planning to spend money. I left without so much as a thanks for stopping in. Instead, I purchased four pairs of shoes online. I did have to return one pair for a different size but frankly, that experience was much friendlier and convenient than coming into this store and being ignored. I try to support local businesses but if they can't be bothered, well, neither can I. read more

Such a warm and friendly staff!! I was looking for Hoka's and Birkenstocks. Stumbled across Sole Concepts and they carried both! Abbey was so helpful when we called to do an inventory stock. When we arrived, she was warm and friendly. Abbey was working the register when I started browsing the Hoka's. Christian offered his assistance and he was informative and sold me on the Hoka Bondi's. He had a pleasant demeanor and was also friendly. We ended up purchasing a pair of Birkenstocks and a pair of Hoka's. Jessie struck up a conversation with us as well and he was great! He shared information regarding their membership and we were able to earn points for our two purchases. We visit this store every year on our trip to SD. The bonus to going there and not just buying online is that you can try on the shoe. This year during our visit we had one very positive experience with the tall worker with redish hair. He was super helpful and curteous. We purchased 4 pairs of shoes. The next day we went back to get another two pairs. The clerk who I think was the owner/manager was there and he was so rude. I spoke with Jessie, who was even willing to open the store early to solve my issue. I had a great experience. As a black couple my boyfriend and I did not feel welcomed one bit, we walked in and told the associate our sizes and right after a local walked in and received immediate service, the associate brought the man his shoes right away before ours while we are patiently waiting for our shoes again because we walked in first, he then went back and fetched him another pair of shoes because the first pair looked worn, then finally grabbed our items, walked away and went back to being attentive to the local.
