I always get asked where is the best place to buy San Diego souvenirs. Besides Old Town this is one of my favorite places to go. They have a little bit of everything here. Novelties, clothes, trinkets, sunglasses. A little of everything can be had here. The store itself is huge and lots of room to explore what you want. The best part about this place is they will ship your items to anywhere you want too! The prices are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly. Was walking through Sandiego downtown and found this souvenir shop. It's a large shop with so many different soveniers and branded SD jerseys . Nice location .. right in the heart of the city . Of course parking is tough here .. lots of walking up and down the streets and they have some good collection of stuffs . Service could be better . Billing can be faster too. Many of the stuff here is expensive . If we had to get a soveniers u have to search a lot to get it with a fair price .. got a couple of soveniers - magnets , etc.. quality was good though. I mean seriously, between the AGM Brandon who treats everyone like a brother, the bartenders Leo & Leo who seem to be competing for most handsome guy in SD, and the rest of the staff that deserves and equal shout out but I was two distracted staring at the Leo's to remember their name, this place is truly one of the Gaslamp Quarter's hidden gems. And now let's talk about the $6 dollar burger. I mean seriously, what is this 2008? Where else can you find a great burger for less than the price of parking? While visiting the Gaslamp Quarter, we passed a gift shop called Gaslamp Garage. Since I was a tourist I wanted to go in and see what kinds of souvenirs they sold. I thought most of the prices were reasonable so I started shopping. I found a t-shirt on clearance made of soft cotton. I won't buy tshirts unless they are soft and breathable. I also purchased a San Diego shot glass and a Kissing Statue magnet. I spent about $25 on my three items. Looking for a souvenir shop to hit up before leaving San Diego I can tell you that this was not the place I thought we were heading for. In fact, it was not the one I had searched for at all. However, I am happy that we came here. I was able to find more than I expected. Most times when I'm in an area I like to find a shop like this to grab myself a few things to take back, sometimes I throw in there a gift or two for people I enjoy being around. I definitely found that here and encourage other people to look this spot up when in town and being a tourist. This store has a little bit of everything when you think of souvenirs. I initially came in here to grab myself a magnet as I have come to be one of those people now. I grab a magnet on all my travels to add to the fridge. Their magnet selection is huge. It's own section, completely covering a three wall alcove with variations of every type of magnet you can think of. I did browse throughout the store. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but I did end up picking up a few more things. There is an alcove in the back of the store that has their clearance items. It doesn't hurt to look through this as you may find some things here that have your name printed on them. I appreciated that they used whatever company they did for some of the souvenirs. My nephew's name is a now common name, but not a common spelling. When I found an item spelt the same way as his, I had to grab it. I thought I was done shopping, that was until I got in line to pay. This is where I stumbled upon stickers. I didn't need one, but I wanted one. My intentions was to put it on my laptop, but instead it hangs on my corkboard in my office. read more

Becky went in looking for a small wallet that would fit into her clear Padres/Petco Park approved clear purse. She needed it to be small, but cute too. This is a souvenir shop located right near the convention center. It is ok to be a tourist here. It is huge and has any type of souvenir and toy that you would want. There is metered street parking and commercial garages and lots within a reasonable walking distance. They have T-shirts, mugs, bracelets, dresses, shot glass, snow globes, sweatshirts, key chains, slippers, toys and so much more. I intentional avoided buying toys from here because I felt I could get them anywhere and probably at a better price. They have huge selections of everything and I want something that had San Diego on it. Their prices are comparable to other gift shops and the shop was pretty clean and well organized. I got a magnet, snow globe and a huge water filled penThe staff there was friendly enough. The woman that checked me out noticed that the snow globe that i had was leaking so, she asked me to get a new one. After I got the new one, she checked it and made sure that it was good before wrapping it. This is a decent souvenir shop that is located in the heart of downtown right in the touristy area that are opened relatively late and I am sure that you can find some really good deals here that would probably beat the airport. read more

A really huge souvenir shop with decent gifts. They got a huge wall full of magnets (mostly $5.99) , then the regular kinda of souvenirs... keychains, bracelets, shot glasses ($6.99). They also got license plates of different states in really clean condition for $20. The selection for pins tho was really limited, but overall still a nice shop. read more

I went in there just window shopping and upon looking at a shot glass and grabbing it from the display to look at a little closer, it appears that another shot glass fell off the display. Instead of acknowledging me and or asking if I was okay, one of the employees wearing a security guards directed me to the register and proceeded to charge me with no help at all. Bottom Line: Perhaps the best place for San Diego souvenirs in the Gaslamp District. Sometimes a kitschy souvenir shop is fun and this place gets my vote for the best souvenir shop in the Gaslamp. It's large, clean and well organized. And they absolutely have all of the non-essentials like t-shirts, ornaments, magnets and key chains. They have stuff for men, women and kiddos. They also have a limited amount of men's and women's beach wear like trunks and cover ups. Some of the beachwear brands they carry include Roxbury for the ladies and Hurley for the dudes. Impressive gift shop in the heart of Gaslamp! It is much bigger than looks like (already looks big, but when you are inside, you feel like never ending!). I could not believe that I was there for at least an hour with a friend who wanted to buy some San Diego inspired, not super tacky gifts and take them to DC. Very cool shirts (beach guard type very flattering for ladies!), mugs of all kinds, and actually of great taste (you can also find the funny 'half cup' mug which is a novelty for me), inspirational books, tons of cheap yet cute jewelry beachy inspired...anything you need to pack a nice bag of souvenirs you get in here. No need to wait until reaching the airport and getting stressed. Mugs of good quality, well sealed paint and nice design for less than $10 make great gifts, I don't think you find them cheaper at the airport even at the duty free section. Shirts are around $15. Many beach hats and flip flops as well. I skipped the 'tacky' too touristy section, but other than that (hey, they have their own audience too!) I find this store a great place. If you are a convention goes, then do not look further, enjoy the nights without having to spent too much time shopping, at the Gaslamp Garage you get covered. read more

Ugh. Your San Diego trip has come to an end and you're still in need of a momento. Perhaps it's for you, or in my case-- for the two littles I left at home. I couldn't leave the state empty handed! Luckily Gaslamp Garage came to my rescue mere hours before my red eye flight. I had been in a dozen stores throughout my trip, trying to find the perfect San Diego treasure for my five and three year olds. I honestly had lost hope. But I stumbled across Gaslamp Garage while exploring and was impressed by not only its prices but variety! The shop is jam packed and after browsing it in its entirety, I truly believe it has everything but the kitchen sink. I was impressed at how many diverse but quality items lived there. The staff wasn't overly friendly but pleasant. I left with a beautiful sparkly dolphin necklace and a van with a surf board perfect for the kiddos. They were a hit! read more

I went to this store because it was a bit chilly outside and I needed a shirt to go under my hoodie. the cashier told me to leave the store because I had a bottle of water while the girl she was checking out had a Starbucks coffee and a soda. We came from a beach town in LA to get away and have a fun weekend in Gaslamp area. We went to shop for souvenirs for Christmas presents only to hear out loud over a speaker "blue shirt and blue beanie." Mind you it was one worker, my boyfriend who was wearing the mentioned apparel and myself as well as another shopper not wearing a beanie or a blue shirt. I liked the store but this left a bad taste in my mouth. We would never steal from a store and even purchased souvenirs. i have been living here for over 10 years never had a problem (well more or less) with their all star customer service. just kidding of course. I has just gotten paid and had a bunch of money and began to pick out items for my immediate family and girlfriend before some boy came up to with me with a security jacket that was a few sizes too small for this Sir. He proceeds to tell me if i have a skateboard then get out. now mind you no one has ever said that to me especially in such a rude manner. i asked him if there was somewhere i could put my skateboard he said no you have to leave now...i was a little taken back. but remained cool, calm and collective and left their little shop. extremely rude, horrible customer service and if i was in a position and acted like that i would be fired on the spot no questions asked. i get there's a lot of problems down on that part of my neighborhood however the way this little kid went about it was worth mentioning. especially since i have spent so much money at that place since i've lived here. learn to distinguish the difference between paying patrons and people you feel necessary to l kick out. i was in too good of a mood to mention anything and i hardly EVER post on this app but that was disgusting. shame on our community's deteriorating customer service catch fade fat boy read more

As a tourist gift shop this place works out nicely and has an amazing selection. San Diego magnets, key chains, shot glasses, pens, bottle openers, snacks, T-shirts, etc etc. They have an impressive wall-o-magnets in the back with about anything you can imagine. I picked up a car with a surf board on top magnet and a magnet for a friend that says "My friend went to San Diego and all I got was this lousy magnet." I thought it was perfect because it really is a crap magnet. All the goodies aside I was put off by the store clerks. I asked where I could find a public bathroom and being a tourist and not knowing any better I was directed by the jokester shop keeper down some alley where there were no bathrooms. And I noticed when one girl asked if they had "gum or something like that" the clerk just said "No." This while I was staring right at gum and mints. So either the guy didn't know jack crap about his store or he was just being an ass for the sake of being an ass. I always come here for my magnets! I have a thing where I buy a magnet every time I go out of town from LA and I've bought 3 from here for the last 3 times I've been back to SD. They have a huge corner filled with magnets for ~$5. They're also dog friendly so your pup(s) can walk in the store with you! read more

Visited this store post COVID during a girls trip to San Diego. The store is very clean, not crowded and has a good amount of merchandise to choose from. Customer service was friendly and helpful. False Advertising! Their sign read "Hoodies $19.99" yet there was not any in hand. The real price is $24.99. I spoke with one employee ee a young girl who couldn't explain it then after I found one I was interested in I inquired with Tom another eMployee who appeared to be in charge. I really like this store, it is conveniently located in the Gaslamp district of San Diego. If you are staying in the area, it's a great place to stop in for souvenirs and items you might have forgotten to pack. The staff is never overly friendly but that's not a big deal for me here. Prices are fair for the area. The selection of items they sell is pretty wide, phone plugs, summer flip flops, some clothing items, mugs, etc... I feel like their inventory is a cut above your typical tourist trap gift shop. I recommend this store for your quick needs when in the area.
