OK - so I'm now at the point in my life where my doctor sends me to a special shoe store - welcome to your late 40's. But, here's the thing - I wish I would have been coming here for years. Extremely knowledgeable staff - you mean I can come to a shoe store and an employee can actually discuss the construct of a shoe and how it will either enhance or detract from a foot condition - wow - amazing what knowledge does. Broad selection - with reputable and stylish brands. Of course you are not going to be paying rock bottom prices - but then again, the shoes you purchase here will not fall apart in a few months - you are buying for quality - expect to pay a bit more. Location is a bit a run down in another run of the mill shopping mall - but don't let the exterior fool you - get inside and get your feet into pieces of heaven - you won't be disappointed. read more

Was just in today to get some new orthotics after a trip to the doctor. The staff f was very helpful and patient while I tried tried a few different pairs. The prices were really affordable. And I'm enjoying my new orthotics and my knees and arches aren't hurting anymore! read more

This store is very busy! They definitely need another cashier stand, or even one they can ring up customers on the floor with (square or something like it?). They didn't have the color/size I was looking for in stock (sold out) but they did have another color that I bought. The sales woman who helped me was fast and helpful and she got me the shoe I needed while she was with another customer, as I knew exactly what I wanted. So that was nice that she accommodated my quick request instead of making me wait. I heard them explaining their frequent buyer program (I live out of state so I didn't sign up) and it sounded pretty generous. If I lived here, I'd go back. read more

After reading the reviews here I felt I had to weigh in to balance perspective. I can't , of course speak to the experience of other customers but can relate my own. The woman who manages the store is EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE about her profession. I went in looking at shoes and asked her to grab a pair that I liked to try on. It was like going to an auto repair shop and asking them to put engine oil in my transmission. Wrong! She immediately took hold of the situation and told me in no uncertain terms, (matter of fact and confident in her recommendation,) that I needed a "substantial" shoe as I am a "substantial" guy. Her blunt demeanor did not offend as I found myself amused by her manner and her "straight to the point" style. She quickly steered me to a shoe that relieved my foot and leg pain to a point I had not thought possible. I began walking again, have lost weight and grown more fit. I owe it to her and the prudent, no nonsense recommendation she made. I confess that her manner might be outputting to some but I believe it is a combination of being very busy, brevity, and style. When she first fit me I loved the shoe but like a modern consumer I left, went out to my car, and shopped on line for the shoe. I found them slightly less expensive on line but decided to go back inside and buy the shoes. No on line company gave me sound advice, fitted me properly, and recommended an insert that helped to salvage my tired old barking dogs. She earned my business and I felt it would have been unethical of me to buy on line to save a few bucks when her knowledge and direction led me to the right shoes. I have since returned and purchased replacements twice and will continue to patronize the store. I am taking my son in soon to be outfitted as he complains of back and leg pain from walking. This is a good store with high quality products that help people be mobile. The manager is a professional with much experience. It is definitely worth a visit. read more

I can only write a good review/bad review for this business. I took my 87 year old mother in there searching for a good walking shoe. The woman who waited on us was personable and knowledgeable. She did a great job of fitting my mom and my mom made a substantial purchase. However, I also was shopping for running shoes. The same woman fitted me, put a shoe on me to try. Then a man walked into the shop and she instantly abandoned me. She never returned, simply waited on the man instead of me. Of course I removed the shoes, paid for my mom's shoes and walked out. Too bad, in spite of a good experience she was extremely overt in her sexist behavior. And no, she did not know him, just a male customer. I guess I won't be returning. I bought a pair of Birks on 1/28/2014, I was charged 10$ more than price posted on the shelf model. I wore them one day and decided I did not like how they fit. So I called yesterday to see if I could return them for an exchange. I did not have the box as the box was in the recycle and was just picked up that morning (1/30/14) They said sure, come on in. I went in today to exchange and was told NO! They would not exchange the shoe because it had been worn and not in NEW condition. Any shoe worn for a few hours??? They did refund my 10$ after asking them about it. So, I will not be back. I do not think this is a good business practice. read more

My husband wears two different size shoes because he wears a foot brace. Buying shoes is always a challenge but these ladies are the best. They work with lots of foot doctors so know some of the nuances that are required for the perfect fit. They are always busy but even given that, they are pleasant and acknowledge that you're there. You just have to be willing to wait. The store stocks a good selection of quality shoes, yes they are expensive but worth every penny, some of which I had never heard of. They have a computerized foot analyzing machine that shows where you put the most pressure and how your foot pronates so they know which shoe to recommend. I've gone there to get shoes for work and will continue to recommend them to anyone who has problem feet. read more

I'm visiting from out of town and was very impressed with the staff. For what seems like a small store from the outside, they had plenty of staff who were quick to share detailed knowledge of their brands. They also had a very nice selection of brands, including Naot (my favorite!), Finn Comfort, and Saucony. Liked the nicely displayed selection of cute and supportive socks. So helpful to have sales people who are knowledgable of orthotics. They sell Spenco and several other brands of orthotics and have a machine you can stand on to get recommendations. Also liked the large selection of business cards to refer to local foot doctors and other relevant services. If I were in the area, I would have joined their frequent buyer program. Five points was the name, I think. I regularly shop at similar stores around the country on vacation, and this was one of my favorite places to buy Naots! read more

I was not impressed. I walked in, there were 3 gals working there... not a single one greeted me. But, I'm here for shoes, so I continued looking. I found a pair I liked, then started looking for my size. Meanwhile, the ladies are all chatting with the one other customer in the store. Since I wasn't able to find my size in the Hokas, I left and ordered them elsewhere. Never once being greeted or asked if I needed help. I purchased a pair of walking shoes about 10 days ago. They ended up pinching my left foot so bad after wearing them for a week that I brought them back. The person who helped me was I believe the store manager Cheri. She explained the store policy that if the shoes had been worn that I couldn't get credit for them. I was ok with that since I had worn them outside. She did offer to find me a pair that would fit better and even remeasured my feet. Turns out I had been sold 2E width and I needed 4E. That was a special order. She offered to go ahead and give me credit on the worn shoes anyway and all I had to do was pay the difference. I was blown away with her customer service! The fact that I'm taking the time to write this review should tell you something. I went in twice looking for a pair of shoes. The first time was around 3pm on a weekday. They were so busy I stood there for 10 minutes without anyone saying a word to me. I came back on. Tuesday at 11am and they were equally busy but a woman finally got around to talking to me. I needed to try on and buy some shoes and also get some orthotics. She was short with me and not friendly and the entire time She made me feel as though I was inconveniencing her. I wasn't finished trying things on and asking questions and she threw a pair of orthotics to me saying that's all they had for dress shoes and walked away. I took them out and tried them on a bit and had some questions and she never came back. I waited another 10 minutes and she still never came back. So I left them there and walked out. I'm never coming to the store again. I don't care how good they are and their prices certainly were not low. I was referred here by my doctor because he specifically wanted me to buy a pair of Hoka One One trail shoes. There has to be another store in the Tacoma or Seattle area that sells them and I will go there. read more

I went there to buy a specific pair of shoes. When I came in the store I stood by shoes that I was interested in and held it in my hand and looked it over for at least 5 minutes and no one offered to help me. I already had this shoe in my cart on zappos.com but I figured it would be nice to help my local economy and buy local. However I didn't have time to wait for someone to offer to help me because I was on my lunch hour so I left and ordered them online. I like their selection of shoes and may come back but if you go there give yourself plenty of time because it's not a fast place to shop. read more

F.W. store: Tried on several pairs of Birks on 7/29/20 settled for the pair that were 30% off, at least that's what the mark down sticker clipped to the sandal said. It was also my birthday month so I received $20 off of my purchase as well. I got home and realized I was charged full price $135 instead of their sale price of $94.50. I called today to let them know and I was told that "It's buy one pair get the other half off so I had to pay full price?" I explained that none of the other sandals I tried on had any sale (30%) price tag in their box. I got nowhere as she was STUCK on the buy one 50% off deal. Now that I'm typing this review she made no sense at all. MY SANDALS WERE (30%) plan and simple not in there buy one get one half off because if they were the tag would have read $135/$67.50 cause that's actually 50% off the full price Sole Perfection. Happy Birthday to me I guess. Nothing like getting swindled. It's a shame they don't care about their customers. I will be finding the manager of this store to complain. read more

Horrible, rude service. Sold us crappy shoes which led to infection. I have never dealt with a ruder group of people. They call their customers liars when disputing policies. Also, when we advised the sales clerk that the adjustments that they made to the shoes led to cellulitis, one of the brainiacs said that she hardly thinks that the shoes were the problem, they don't cause cellulitis. Uh...moron? They caused ulcers that got infected that resulted in cellulitis, so unless you are a trained medical professional, keep your uneducated medical opinions to yourself. I have a call into the owner to resolve this issue, hopefully she is more intelligent than her sales clerks. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! ***Update*** The owner of this business resolved our problem. He called and left a voicemail assuring that we would receive a full refund. I transcribed the message and emailed the info to my mother, the customer. She took the shoes back, and was STILL met with resistance by the sales clerks, until she handed them the print of the email and told them to call the owner! The owner really needs to do something about the lack of customer service. While our issue was taken care of, I would still never shop here again, nor would I recommend this shop, thus, I cannot increase my original rating. read more

This store has some of the best shoes in terms of style and fit for problem feet. However, the woman who is apparently the manager (red hair, loud voice) is one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. I have bought many shoes in the store (noting her lack of respect and courtesy to others but not to me as I was not her customer) but when I was there with my husband who was her customer I could hardly believe her behavior. She claimed to have left messages about his order when she had not, she left us waiting "for a seat" while other customers were attended to (although both his cancer treatment and stroke is obvious....bald head, can't speak). I plan to find out who owns this store to complain because this woman should not interact with any customer. I would recommend the shoes, but stay the Hell away if you want to be treated like a human being. read more

My husband and I hate shopping at both the Tacoma and Federal Way stores. The clerks are condescending and have stock answers to questions regarding the shoes. It feels like we go through a battle every time we try to purchase something there, after a ridiculously long wait. Ownership should hire and train for customer service, not rote answers. This store was recommended to me for my 90 year old godmother by two podiatrists. Even after reading the reviews on line, I was expecting good old fashioned warm, understanding customer service. This was not to be. After waiting 20 minutes for a salesperson, I was basically told they could not help my godmother with new shoes. The doctor had asked that they fit her with a shoe with maximum control. My godmother didn't like any of the those shoes and the sales people would not help us with other types of shoes!. I felt the salespeople could have cared less about our situation and needs. I have many friends who wear the brands carried at this store, including myself. I will not be referring any of them to buy here. I will also be sharing with my podiatrist my very poor experience. I was extremely disappointed at their lack of customer service. read more

I would never recommend this store or any of its chain stores to anyone!! I work on my feet for 13 hours a day and needed some good shoes. I purchased a pair of $220 Ziera shoes, which I had never owned before. While the sales person was fine, the return policy is absolutely ridiculous. The shoes made my feet worse even after trying to gradually break them in. I tried to return the shoes after wearing them (indoors only). It had been more than 30 days and according to the "policy" they could do nothing for me, no exceptions, not even store credit. The shoes still look new. I wouldn't even give them one star if it was an option. read more

I spent $235 on two pairs of shoes and socks for my daughter. 3 weeks later, the Brooks that I bought her were delaminating and the uppers were already almost worn out on the outside of the toe box where she can't even drag the shoes on pavement. They refused to exchange them or give a credit for them even though the shoes were CLEARLY defective. I attempted to return them, 6 weeks after our purchase. Save your money, shop at Nordstrom. I went in to this store for the first time to purchase nursing shoes. I work 12 hour shifts and they have never bothered me but being almost 8 months pregnant I need something with more support. Plus my arches are falling and it's painful. When I first arrived there was a customer checking out and a customer being fitted. And there were 3 people working. I've been to Sole Perfection Tacoma 3 or 4 times, and have walked out annoyed every time. I go there because I know they have quality shoes, but every time I go there the sales women have a disdainful look on there face as though they don't want to assist me, or they don't know very much about the shoes. They talk to me as though I am taking up their valuable time. Twice when I've gone there & stood in line for help, they have walked around me & asked the person behind me if they could help them. We want to let you know that we really appreciate the level of service that we received at the Sole Comfort in Tacoma WA. We came in at the last second before the store closed. I explained that my wife really needs a some good walking shoes, the lady there Pauline, went out of her way to help us with that.
