Very upset. First off I brought in a purse for him to repair. I paid him $45. He told me what he would do when I pick up the purse. A week later the purse was exactly the same. All he did was add little loops on the side before I brought it in. He gave me a big talk, saying that he would renew everything paint everything but then when I pick it up, he says he just couldn't do it. I bring in my daughter's UGG shoes next. He gives me a big talk again to say that he can sew it up repair it and make it look new. Next thing you know a week later I pick it up and he tells me he couldn't do it. Instead he messes the shoes up and puts or glues on a huge ugly patch. That's a completely different color it looks ridiculous. I really liked the fella had a nice shop I went to pick up my boots and it was a COMPLETE waste of time and money! $75 for 4 pairs of boots to be shined/polished and I have to drive 66 miles round trip twice (no cobblers in Merced) upon arriving presented me with my boots THEY WERE NOT SHINED!!!!!! Again nice fella I asked him to polish them while I was there he did and they looked no better. Nice fella but maybe he just doesn't have it anymore. Spent $80 to stretch 2 pairs of boots and repair the sole of two pairs of flip flops that had come apart. On the very first wear the sole completely fell off of my sandal and the boots didn't stretch hardly at all. (This was after having them stretched twice). Maybe try somewhere else... but seems like a complete rip off. I'll update with photos soon. Very very disappointing... plus the glue was all over the place on the side of the sandal. But I was really looking for function over fashion. But didn't even last walking for ten minutes, but luckily the sole fell off when I still had time to turn around and grab another pair. I came to this establishment based on a recommendation because I needed my Ugg boots cleaned. Frank is the owner and operator of this local business he is a senior citizen like around 70ish. From my experience working with seniors I was always impressed with their work so I assumed he would do a good job. He charges up front before the service which is quite pricey in my opinion.... Like 47 dollars. Unfortunately he did a horrible job with the boots maybe because he wasn't familiar with how to clean them. And he told me he did the best he could. Well I was foolish enough to give him a second chance and decided to give him my Dooney and Bourke purse for him to clean....once again epic fail!!! Horrible job another 45 dollars down the drain. I didn't have the heart to complain or confront him because I respect my elders. I just viewed my $90 plus dollars as a gift or donation to this local business. Lastly Frank never called me when my item was ready I had to call him!!! Sadly I would not recommend anyone going to this business for any services because you will be wasting your time and money and end up being disappointed like I did. Frank needs to retire. read more

I took 3 pairs of shoes in for repairs. I was told that he would let me know the repairs upon pick-up. When he told me how much I was super surprised. $150...what!! I said there was some kind of mistake because I've had shoes fixed at another location with similar repairs. The sweet old man tried to recount what had been done and the prices for each pair of shoes. He seemed to be very confused. Eventually, we settled on $100 for the repairs. Which was still too much given the value of the shoes. One of the pairs of shoes look terrible. I'm going rip off the soles because they don't match or look good. My little brother took a pair of Givenchy and Gucci shoes to get repaired, they sloppily painted over the dirt, they couldn't do the job they should've just said it then, and there versus messing them up more than they already were. I tried fixing them and I couldn't even remove the paint that they used it's unfortunate that they just ruined them more than they already were and they still charged for the sloppy job. 30 years of experience? that does not look like 30 years of experience to me. The fact that they had the decency to still charge and to still give them to my brother like this is so unprofessional we will definitely not be going back. Back in May I had purchased a pair of two-strap Birkenstocks. Absolutely adored them this summer, and was so devastated when I found my puppy had chewed them earlier in the fall. I was grateful when my boyfriend gifted me a pair of Buckley Birkenstocks, essentially as a replacement. But this week before work one morning, I sadly woke up to again, my dog ruining one of my shoes. At that point, I was in possession of two chewed up (rather expensive) shoes I loved a lot, had just got, and yet were unwearable. Out of pure desperation I searched up a shoe repair nearby, and found this one close. I went in with both pairs and was given an estimate of 30$ for the two-strap and 25$ for the other. I was told they maybe ready not this end of the week but the next. I paid upfront, and hoped for the best--quickly getting just that. The next day, I received a phone call that BOTH my shoes were already done, ready for me. I'm so pleased with the way they look, and how overall I can still get so much wear. Hi quality services. I've been to this place twice now, and the show owner always gives me good service with fast turn around time.

So unhappy with the work I got done in replacing my soles on my boots. These weren't super expensive boots I just really liked them and wanted the sole repaired. He charged me over 40, I dont remember exactly, but I had to pay in advance. When I first went to pick them up there were huge gaps between the sole and the boot. I asked him if he could fix it properly and I got them back like this. Ruined. I cant wear these. I just paid to fix boots I cant wear. I'm so unhappy. He should have just told me he couldn't fix them or at least acknowledged his mistake but he just pretended they looked fine. read more

In the end...work was very good...BUT...When I took in some leather saddle bags and seat from my motorcycle, Frank promised them by the weekend, I gave him that time plus until Thursday of the NEXT week, and he had not even started, this was AFTER I Paid him in advance, he claimed he did not mix enough dye the first time and was intending to call me, but kept forgetting ???? meanwhile I did not have a ride for 2 weeks. he should not have lied to me the first time, when he knew he could not deliver, and definitely should have called... Lost a buckle piece of the zipper on my Authentic Tory Burch boots that I paid $500 for. Claims they threw it away. I don't understand how if it stands out and doesn't look like just any type of buckle to the zipper. I paid in advance and probably will never take shoes again. The Sole Saver is hands down, the ONLY place I will take my shoes for repairs. To begin with, the owner, Mr. Cardenas did a spectacular job at resurrecting my most prized pair of Clarks riding boots that were cannibalized by another local "cobbler" who almost ruined them. My boots had been sitting in a bag in the back of my closet because I couldn't bear to throw them out even though they had been botched and were unwearable. I brought my lucky interview shoes (Clarks Mary Janes) to Mr. Cardenas and mentioned the boots. He said bring them in and he would see what he could do. 2 weeks later I was presented with what looked like nearly brand new boots!!! Since then he has rescued dancing shoes, work shoes, a purse and my husband's work boots. Mr. Cardenas you are my hero!!!
