I needed a boots heels to be replaced. There's not many shoe repair around that does a good job. So I came here and dropped off a lot of my boots yhat the heel (8 pairs) was worn out and some scuffs on the tip of the boots. Randall the owner said it would take 2 weeks . He called me a week and half later and when I went to pick it up- OMG! I was so impressed by Randall's work. The heels were replaced nicely and on top of that he shined my leather boots! I was satisfied with my work especially when you love your shoes and don't want to get rid of it bc it still has some life to go. Also, I had a really bad scuff on the tip of my mauve color boots and he said he tried to polish with a similar color but boy! It doesn't look noticeable at all. He was able to cover it. I have pair or UGGS I wear for over 15 years and the soles finally started to fall apart. Seeing a shoe repair shop is rare. Randall was amazing, it took a couple of weeks, price was not bad, very affordable. You need to pay up front and he gives you a ticket and to come back and pick it up. HIGH SCHOOL REUNION SHINE When I went to the Men's Wearhouse to buy an attire for my high school reunion one of the sales associates recommended either a black dress shoe or casual shoe with my attire. I looked at the black casual shoe, which I preferred over the black dress shoe. I also liked the price. However I wasn't sure how often I would wear the black casual shoe. At home I had a pair of black dress shoe and black casual shoe. Instead of buying a pair of casual shoes from the Men's Wearhouse I brought these pairs to A-1 Shoe Repair for shoe shining. I went here about one week about my high school reunion. When I asked about my black Florsheim dress shoe if I can add a heel protector, Randall stated due to the condition of the heel he would need to insert a new heel that costs $15, which I didn't want to pay. I then asked him how much for a shoe shine for both pairs of shoes. He said $40, which is less than a pair of casual shoes I was interested at the Men's Wearhouse. I dropped off my pair of shoes. The day before the reunion I picked my two pairs of shoes. I liked the shine on both shoes. I think overall the shine on the Florsheim stood out more. I decided to wear the black Florsheim dress shoes for the reunion not because of the shine but I felt those shoes were more comfortable to wear than the black Nike casual shoes. I had took these nubuck cowboy boots that were brand new to a shop near my workplace and they gave me no hope. They said the stains were permanent and there was no solution but making them black. Before I got hopeless I went to this shop near my house. The gentleman at the shop was professional and told me he would do his best to fix them up and I honestly left with a little hope. When I brought in a pair of relatively new Adidas sneakers whose sole had become detached on the toe end, he informed me that no amount of glue could fix this shoe due to the vacuum seal process used during its production. Took my Red Bottoms to see if he could stretch them. He made me laugh when he said well that depends, do they fit now?!? Lol I said yes they are just really tight. So fyi if your shoes do not fit, stretching them will not "make them fit". I dropped them off Thursday evening and he said they would be ready any time Saturday! I just went and picked them up. Step inside; smooth jazz delights your ears, the smell of wax and polish tingles your nose, and Randall warms your soul. I'm always super supportive of craftsmanship and expertise and Randall is a true gem that I hope doesn't retire anytime soon. He even has a perfect work apron with well earned wear, tear, and smudges. Added before/after pictures so you can check out the difference with the bad state my gear was in before Randall fixed them, I will be back. I brought 2 pairs of boots and 1 pair of motorcycle gloves. Helimot Gloves, I wanted the leather refreshed and not a restoration, the battle scars and deep grime + staining was retained while the leather returned to a nice supple state, very challenging since the gloves are made of 3 materials sewn together. Wolverine 1000 Miles, I used these work boots as motorcycle boots for years. I have an unfortunate habit of occasionally scrapping my boots on the gravel while slowing to a stop because I like the sound, because of that one of the soles was worn through. Randall recommended only replacing half of the sole and saving me money, from the side view the seam is not visible at all! These were also oily and grimy, especially the left foot used for clutching up and down. They are so nice now I don't want to wear them for motorcycling anymore. Black bespoke boots, came from a brand I found on reddit a long time ago called Chevalier in Indonesia. They added wedges as soles by mistake and it costs too much to ship to Indonesia to fix so I've worn these "frankenstein" boots for years. I took some rain boots in that had a bunch of cracks. Unfortunately he couldn't save them which made me sad due to sentimental reasons. But I was very happy with Randall's kindness and knowledge. He even offered the only way he knew how to help but warned me that it wouldn't guarantee that it fixes it and water could still get in it. Randall was lovely and I came to get a hole punched in my purse loop with my friend and he was able to do both our bags in under 7 minutes. My friend also wanted to shorten her purse loop but he said it may not come out perfect because the edge was sealed and he's a shoe cobbler not a purse maker so he said it will not come out perfect.
