Neill Auterson is the Chef/Proprietor of the Sole Seafood Restaurant.
I had noticed Sole Seafood as soon as it opened so my partner and I decided to go for a meal here. It stands out from the outside as it has a beautiful business sign. The decor inside didn't disappoint either. Plain yet chic, small but cosy.
As soon as we entered, our waitress greeted us and showed us to our seats. She was lovely; friendly, bubbly and professional.
Please note that Sole Seafood does not currently serve alcohol but you are allowed to bring your own (which I personally quite like).
The menu is fabulous, quite extensive. I found it hard to chose what I wanted because everything sounded so tasty as I am a HUGE seafood lover. I had the Seafood Chowder for starters and my partner had the crab claws. The seafood chowder was absolutely delicious; the best I have ever tasted and that is hard to beat as I often frequent restaurants in the Inishowen Peninsula, Co. Donegal as I have family there and that area is renowned for its high standard of seafood and cooking. The crab claws looked nice and had plenty of meat inside them; my partner said they were delicious. For my main course, I had Surf 'n' Turf which did not disappoint. The ribeye came out cooked as request with plenty of prawns and crayfish (yum!) on top if the steak. My partner had the Queen Scallops; he said they were beautiful and melt in the mouth. I would also like to add that the mash we ordered was outstanding! Creamy, smooth and no lumps. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert; we had gorged ourselves. There is always next time!
I would like to add that Sole Seafood specialises in lesser known species of fish! The menu has been catered for all, from fish lovers to steak lovers to vegetarians.
Our overall experience of the restaurant was very positive. If you love seafood like we do, please visit Sole Seafood. You will not be disappointed.
