I would not recommend this Dental office, the staff is rude and they say they are under your insurance and surprise you bill is doubled since they really are not. Try and argue with and blame it on the patient. They do not have the Doctors all under the plan to have it covered, they need to get their information correct. I visited the office and Dr. Alia Kalif examined my teeth. We agreed to have a crown placed on tooth #27 - this was all I agreed to. When I returned to the office, the dental assistant (not doctor) performed the procedure. After the tooth #27 procedure, the assistant mentioned the word "cavier." I did not understand what that meant nor did I agree to any other work being done. The issue is that the office claims to have work done (a "cavier") to tooth #26, but there was no work done nor did I ever agree to it. I am being fraudulently billed. I have called the office and they refuse to speak with me. They have placed me on debt collection. I don't recommend coming to this dental office. You will be in for a surprise - they are charging for nothing. read more

I went to this dentist because of a broken tooth, and Dr. Kalaf recommended a crown for the damaged tooth. However, the crown they attached fell off 4 times! Each time I went back, instead of sincerely apologizing, they made excuses and said things that didn't make sense!!! On the last visit, the female dentist said that the crown wouldn't hold because the tooth structure was too weak and then suggested other treatment options. When I pointed out that she was the one who reduced the size of my tooth to fit the crown, and now she was blaming its size, she responded by saying she had been "very patient" with me! I'm sorry, but I'm not going there for fun--I'm going because the crown they installed kept falling off!!!! Based on my experience and what I've heard from others, I strongly advise against going to this clinic. They seem more concerned with shifting blame than addressing issues. Both the male and female dentists I interacted with (different ones for different visits) failed to deliver a professional standard of care. If you value your time, money, and dental health, avoid this place. You'll end up frustrated and out of pocket. read more

They did have a couple dentists at the time but found out that the one very gentle and kind dentist left. My experience over the last year was very different with the remaining female dentist. On the surface, this office is great. The front office staff is kind and bubbly on the phone. Scheduling leaves much to be desired. I had my appointment rescheduled several times because the dentist had a scheduling conflict. I understand that things can happen, but rescheduling multiple times is very inconvenient for a patient who is required to get time off work to get dental work done. I was told by this dentist that I had several cavities that have been there for years and needed to be filled. I have never had a cavity in my life and pulled dental records from the previous year from my previous dentist out of state and they noted that I had zero cavities. This felt like a push for a filling to charge more. Upon confronting them, they said that we could just keep an eye on it for a while. Okay, so do I have cavities or not? When I finally had my appointment, the staff checked with my insurance company to see what was covered. Weeks after my appointment, I received quite a pricey bill and was told that "I guess the insurance company doesn't cover that procedure after all." Would have been nice to be properly informed in the first place, as I may not have elected to have it done, or possibly would have gone to a different dentist. At other dentists, usually your chart is reviewed with you and you're welcomed to ask questions. Here, they don't review anything with you. They don't show your x-rays or review the general state of your teeth. They didn't do a general mouth exam (tongue, gums, etc.) They don't seem to care if you have questions. Furthermore, I was told I may not need local anesthetic. The dentist said that if it was painful, I could let her know and she could give me the shot. She proceeded to drill in my mouth and I motioned multiple times that I was in pain and she said "it's fine it's almost done anyways." No...when your patient is in pain, you should pause and re-evaluate. Overall, I was not pleased with my experience at this office and I will not be returning. It feels like they're just after money and are not concerned with the thoughts or well-being of the patient. I would not recommend them. read more

I had to come in for an appointment and my anxiety was through the roof due to COVID. I didn't want to come in but needed to. I felt as safe as I could have the entire time. The entire staff was wearing masks, they enforced mask wearing in the lobby, and they even called me in my car to notify me when it was safe to come in so I would have to wait as little as possible in the lobby. Solon Dental Excellence has been my dentist for over 15 years and I can't recommend them enough, especially right now for taking such responsible precautions during this scary time. Until this year I had been going to my Pediatric dentist. I was not happy to switch to an adult dentist but the ladies at Solon Dental Excellence made it way easier. They are always friendly when you arrive and throughout your appointment. They are very personable and make sure you get in and out in a timely manner. I like that they are clear on payment and what they say the price will be is what it turns out to be. I have had two cleaning and fillings done and all were easy with no issues. Plus the location is easy to get to in the center of Solon and such a cute office! I love the little bathroom station that allows you to brush and mouth wash! read more

I can't even remember the name of the dentist that saw me but they really saved the day! I had a crown from another dentist that fell off unexpectedly. I was in quite a bit of discomfort and called multiple places trying to get an emergency appointment. They were extremely accommodating and took me after I got off work. They saw me right away when I got there at my scheduled appointment time. The doctor numbed me up first thing before he examined the tooth so that I wouldn't be in pain. He quickly cemented my crown back on and it barely took any time out of my evening. Everyone was so nice, understanding, and efficient. I'm extremely grateful and might make this my regular dental office now. 5 stars. read more

My recommendation would be to NOT go to this dentist I recently had an appointment where she told me a filling that she had done a few years (maybe 4) ago needed redone because it was flaking. And she said that due to the location on a front tooth it really needed to be a crown because re-filling it may crack the tooth. When doing the temporary crown the assistant had a terrible time trying to get the temporary in place - jamming it in so many times my tooth hurt for 2 weeks. When I went back for the permanent crown they told me the tooth and nerve were so inflamed and infected that I now needed a root canal. This was all caused by the cramming the temporary in. Then when I came for the root canal they did the root canal and upon completion told me the tooth was cracked and couldn't be saved! Now I am in need of a dental implant. I am absolutely certain this was all caused by their poor work. I am considering legal action read more

I have never been more happy with a dental office. My family has been coming here for about 5 years now and we have never had any issues. Every single person that works here is so wonderful. Especially Nicole! I had Invisalign for about a year and worked with Nicole through all of it. She has been phenomenal. So friendly and kind. She walks me through every single thing and makes me feel comfortable with all of it. When I finished up with my Invisalign she whitened my teeth in the same day. I have never been this happy with my smile and I have Nicole to thank for that. I have three little boys and the staff is always so great with them too. Makes them so comfortable with their cleanings. When my youngest was a baby I came in for a cleaning and the girls in the office just passed him around while I was in the chair. I recently changed to and had four crowns placed at Solon Dental Excellence. Dr. Kalaf was very good at explaining things thoroughly​, and has a great chairside manner that I had not experienced at my old dentist. The rest of the staff is great as well. The extra amenities that they offer are just a bonus, I would still go here even if they didn't have TV's/massage chairs. The final result is stunning, which is very important to me as they were my front teeth. Now I feel confident in my smile. I've unfortunately had a terrible experience here. It is very clear that this business is looking to make money - at the expense of their customers' teeth. I've had multiple instances here where they have missed an important problem in my teeth - and I've had to get a second opinion where I am diagnosed with something else. Needless to say, the second opinion paid off - had I not gotten it, my teeth would be in really bad shape. It seems to me that they can't diagnose and fix the problems in the teeth in the preliminary stages, and let them manifest into a bigger problem - just so they can charge you more later. I've had a horrendous experience here and will never go here again. Update: Of course you would say I'm not in your system. I decided to try Solon Dental Excellence this past month and boy do I regret my decision. Not only did my appointment last around 1.5 hrs but I experienced intense jaw and gum pain for the rest of the night. Everyone I encountered was very nice but my dental hygienist was a little aggressive when cleaning my teeth. It then took the dentist 20-30 mins to just check my teeth before I could leave. All in all my simple cleaning appointment ended up lasting me 1 hr 45 mins. Additional info: if you want a fluoride treatment that is an additional $20 (this was always included in the standard cleaning at my previous dentist). I will not be visiting Solon Dental Excellence again. read more

Staff is very kind and efficient. My kids all had cavities filled at the same time. One ended up with a root canal, one was in pain for a month and the other was complaining when drinking water her tooth hurt. The fillings were done improperly; not sealed right, still had decay sitting there. We had to go to another dentist and she was disgusted with the poor work. Not only did my kids have to go through the pain again, but we had to pay for it again, too. Find another dentist in town. read more

Jan 2016 Both my wife and I had dental work this month at Solon Dental Excellence. The first person you meet is Rachel, she's friendly and knowledgeable and explains options clearly. Both Dawn and Kylie are dental technicians and are adept at putting the patient at ease. They both verbally walk through the procedures and answer questions knowledgeably. Their good humor help to relax the patient. Their aftercare is genuine and they clearly explain instructions to follow after the procedure. We both were seen by Dr Chrzanowski who embraces gentle dentistry. She's efficient and cares for the patient. She too is professional and knowledgeable. I needed a new dentist (mine retired) and am happy to have found Dr. Hester. During my first visit of cleaning, Dr. Hester outlined my treatment plan. She took the time to explain and answered all questions. I knew I needed some work done because of symptoms so this wasn't a surprise. On my second visit, Dr. Hester was able to place an onlay on my tooth (almost a crown). This was done right in the office on one visit! No temporaries and no repeat appointments. I am very happy with the results. Completely painless procedure. It's difficult to numb me and Dr. Hester was patient and understanding of my nervousness. I wouldn't normally think to review a dentist office but I have had such an awesome experience with these guys I had to give them a shout out! After years of closed lip smiles I was sick of my crooked teeth so I decided to get Invisalign. They gave me a roadmap of how things were going to turn out before I decided to take the treatment. They explained everything during appointments and helped me choose what was best for me. Nicole was the best, she asked for feedback at every visit and made sure I was happy with my smile. I also have white spots on my teeth (she explained the technical name but I forgot) and she recommended ways to help get rid of them! I honestly can't thank them enough for what they've done. I have been with the dentistry a few years and gradually feel these people are more interested in making money than providing care. Every time I went for dental cleaning, they will try to push me to do x-rays for no reasons and then trying to sell me other unnecessary treatments. If I did not want to do it, I could see their faces green. As for what I really went for, dental clearing, I can tell that they spent much less time than what I usually got from other dentistries. I went to the dentist due to an accident and broke a tooth. They do not communicate well. They did not communicate that my insurance would not pay for a one tooth denture (flipper), they did not explain what a (flipper) was. So I had to pay over $500 for a one tooth denture than I never wore. They discuss the procedures that need to be done while laying down in the chair, instead of at a desk where you can sit up. Losing my front tooth, I was in a hurry to fix that first thing, but no, they wanted to do all this preventative maintenance before fixing my front tooth, so I had to look like a hillbilly, as I was not wearing a one tooth denture that you cant talk or eat anything. Just wanting to get my money. The office is very open, they bounce between multiple patients at a time. Save your frustration and go find another dentist. I finally have my front tooth fixed from another dentist. read more

Edit: the only downside is when I asked them to quote me for the services. The receptionist told me my insurance would cover it. I told her they would not, because I was aware of my plan. She tried to convince me I was wrong and I made her check. Of course, my insurance didn't cover the extractions. The bill would be a bit under $900 and I was okay with it. I asked her to confirm all charges would be included. She said it was. 2 months after the extractions, I receive another $200 bill. Frustrating. It's never fun when you have to get wisdom teeth extracted. I had put it off for over a year until finally the discomfort became too great. I was not optimistic about the procedure in any way. The staff at Solon Dental Excellence was courteous and caring. They worked with my schedule for my appointment. I had to reschedule twice. Dr. Saleh who does wisdom teeth extractions was on stall every other Friday which made scheduling inconvenient, but in the end it was worth the wait! Even during the consultation process, I was in and out in about 20 minutes in which I had x-rays taken and an overview of the procedure discussed. They even checked my insurance policy while I was there. Once the day came for my procedure, it was done in under one hour. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous. Everyone in the front office was very reassuring and genuine. They told me that Dr. Saleh was quick and experienced. There was no wait, I was immediately shown to a room where an assistant applied numbing gel to my gums. In about five minutes or so, Dr. Saleh was there ready with the local anesthetic. He was very thorough to make sure I would not feel anything during the procedure, which I am truly grateful for. Once the procedure began, it was nerve wracking to feel the pressure on my jaw and to see the tools go into my mouth, but like they promised, I barely felt anything. A humorous point in the procedure was when they asked me to close my jaw, and I couldn't. Dr. Saleh asked if I've ever had a problem with my jaw before and I shook my head no. I was a little bit concerned. He then placed his thumbs in my mouth and manually manipulated it shut telling me it was not much to worry about. It was most likely that the anesthetic had temporary made me lose control over the jaw muscles. We all had a little chuckle. Of the three teeth I had removed, only one location in the gums needed stitches. That was my most problematic tooth where a cyst had developed prior to the procedure. Today is exactly one day after the procedure and despite the swelling, I can already feel relief in certain muscles around my jaw. For a while before the procedure, I had developed a bit of an underbite from the wisdom teeth pushing my lower jaw forward. As a result it was creating stress on certain jaw muscles. I highly recommend Solon Dental Excellence, they made scheduling my appointment painless, were very professional, and they truly care. Some other things to mention, the decor was really nice. They had some tropical scenes painted on the walls, and was brightly lit. It did help ease my nerves about my procedure. It was extremely clean as well. We had a worst experience with Solon dental excellence, they did a poor job on a cavity filling for my daughter, which caused infection on her gum. Then they credit me back the charge ( about $100 ) on that tooth for the mistake they made , but after the credit they asked me to remove my review from Google page,even left me a voice mail and threat me that they are going to hire a lawyer . I didn't agree to take my reviews down, so they sent me a bill recently to charge those credit back, they want either get the refunded money back or send to collection. Instead of apologizing for what they did to us, they are working so hard to get back the money they refunded. Really disappointed on their attitude and service. Beware of this place ! read more

Terrible Dr Alia Khalaf... Left a piece of instrument in my son's tooth. My filling came out in a couple of months and the tooth cracked. Nicely decorated office but very unskilled Doctor. I have heard similar stories from a couple of other people about her. They refunded the money back to insurance company when I threatened her with a lawsuit. read more

I switched to Dr. Kalif after we moved to Aurora and I am very particular about dentist. First off, I've had A LOT of work done in my mouth, unfortunate...but I look for honest, trustworthy dentist because of that. The first year I was going to Dr, Kalif, she did a ton more work and was always saying I needed something done. Ok. I was pregnant at the time and a tooth got infected. She insisted it was the tooth NEXT to get causing the infection & that tooth had to be taken care of. She proceeded to do the work on that tooth (root canal included) and it again...became INFECTED again. All while I'm pregnant & with a heart condition...not cool. When I went back to the office with the same tooth infected again, I saw their newest dentist,r. Williams, who told me the tooth next to the one infected was fine and shouldn't have been worked on in the first place. She proceeded to tell me the infected tooths root canal wasn't good and had to be redone. WOW. Ok, so I had to go back to the endodontist to get it redone and done the RIGHT way since Kalif messed it up in the 1st place. I was already upset with the fact that I felt I was lied to in the first place (work done on a tooth that wasn't needed in the first place) and I felt they should have to cover the redue on the root canal. They said Ok, and it was covered. Then I get a bill from my insurance...They STILL charged my insurance. Unbelievable. It put me over my limit for the year, so I couldn't get more work done had I wanted to...especially HERE...way over-priced. To say the least, I will never recommend this place as long as I live in the area. Not honest at all...nor very pleasant. I didn't even care for the hygenist, pretty stand offish. Be warned when going that it isn't the most honest place out there...and with the cost of dental work, I don't need a scam. read more

Nice Staff. Friendly People. Do not go there for Dentures. After 11 months, I ended up with a refund and back to square. Mostly due to the fact that Salem Laboratories (out of Rocky River Ohio) , the company that makes dentures for Dental Excellence, uses sub-standard materials causing dentures to crack on the plates and when the're not cracking than teeth are falling out. From August of 2014 until July 2015, no week past without losing denture teeth and shipping the dentures back for repairs. Two sets of dentures were made for me and both sets failed - brie cheese and peanut butter took the teeth right out as if the teeth were not really fastened to the plate to begin with. A meal could rarely be eaten without breakage. I've worn Dentures for 8 years prior to this and never lost a tooth. I didn't even know losing denture teeth was possible. Salem Laboratories should be made to close its doors. I can not recommend Solon Dental Excellence due to their connection to this terrible, low standard, pathetically uncaring lab. RUN, don't even walk in! And don't be fooled by the TV/ and vibrating recliners! Terrible quality and service. I've even heard people state that it reminds them of a production line service. They are truely lucky that I have not taken them to court for a reimbursment to my insurance company and myself.The office may be nice, but the quality of work is awful and WILL NOT LAST! My husband and I had been going to this office for a few years, and ALL the performed work (fillings, bridges and crowns) have ALL FALLEN OFF, APART, OR CRACKED, and were poorly constructed. My crown fell off less than a year after it was put on, WHILE I WAS SNEEZING for goodness sake! My husband had to find a emergency dentist this past New Year's Eve to fix the LOUSY bridge work that was constructed so poorly (as cheap as possible) oh and by the way, THEY HAD FIXED IT BEFORE THIS PAST NEW YEAR'S EVE, AND IT ALSO ENDED UP INFECTED! And when confronted with the facts reguarding these issues, they always have some excuse, "well you missed your last 6mos cleaning" is what I was told when my bond broke the 3rd time. Really?? Yet they always want me to come back in so they can charge my insurance complany and I top dollar TO FIX THE SAME PROBLEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I have had a bond fixed on the same tooth 4 TIMES! And THE WORK WAS NEVER by the same person in that office. I think they hire students who have just graduated from dental school, and who barely have experience in dentistry. We have expressed our dissatisfaction to as many people as possible to save them from the wasted time, money, pain, and awful experiences we have encountered with this office. RUN! read more
