I'm Polish, so Soloway's menu is comfort food and memories for me. When you walk in, you are greeted with a cheerfully decorated and clean space with several options for seating. You order your food at the counter. There are a lot of combo type meals, but you can also get most items a la carte as well. We were greeted warmly by the staff and they were ready and willing to answer any questions we had. I opted for the borscht and pietogi. My husband ordered the stuffed peppers. Mine came with a roll and side of sour cream. His came with the pepper, cheese bread and mashed potatoes. When your food is ready, they bring it out to your table. We both loved our food. I hadn't had borscht in years and their version didn't disappoint. It was packed with flavor and veggies. the potatoes in it were just the right texture. We tried sauerkraut and potato and cheese pierogi. They were smaller than a lot of the Polish pierogi I've had, but they tasted great and were cooked perfectly. Friendly little business with really good food. My son and I shared the sausage and potato pancake platter. His father had the chicken with mashed potatoes. It was all very tasty. I especially loved the seasoned carrots that came with it. Next time I will try the pierogis. It was not busy on a Saturday in May around noon. I'll bet the summer tourist season may bring more crowds. Very simple decor. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Upon entering this small restaurant we were warmly greeted by one of the owners who took our order. She told us they've open open a short time. We ordered the couple's platter and added a cheese toast and potato pancakes. We received our cabbage rolls and were blown away with the taste as its a fusion of Asian spices and a Ukrainian flair, excellent especially adding the sour cream as its lite and the cabbage is tender and delicious. Then came our cheese toast then pierogies and cheese roll. We had the potato and cheese and the saurkraut with fresh bacon chips sprinkled on top and the cheese roll along with the potato pancakes. With pierogies were amazing especially the saurkraut with their dill sour cream. The potato pancakes were a hit, made fresh and having the applesauce on top made the plate even more spectacular. The cheese roll was different and had a smokey taste that was amazing. We ordered a cheesecake slice, chocolate cake slice and a macaroon for dessert, the serving sizes are nice as well as the price. We will definitely return to try more of their menu. The cook whom I believe is the husband was amazed at our positive comments. SEVEN WORDS: QUAINT, SELF SERVE DIM-SUM STYLE UKRANIAN BISTRO . . Realistically, that's the only way you can describe this restaurant. There's a buffet line, with a single tray server, sort of like a Golden Corral, but there are only a dozen total selections, including aborscht, Pierogies, Sausage, Stuffed Cabbage, a Chicken-Rice Pilaf, and some Desserts. . We ordered a little of everything, and it was served, buffet-style, onto Styrofoam plates and we were hand we d Plasticware/Napkin kits, like you'd find at KFC. We chose a table along the wall, which sears half-booth style, and proceeded to sample the various foodstuffs. . My plate contained a freshly-made beef sausage, Cream Cheese Pierogies, and a link of Stuffed Cabbage. The Sausage was firm and had a bite to it, like a boiled kielbasa limo. That was a pleasant surprise. The Stuffed cabbage was good, too, although the cabbage tasted clean and bland. The beef was fresh, but without greasy fillers - which Ai found not to my liking. That's personal preference, though, as I like greasy and porky. This tasted Amish-made - which some may love, especially heath nuts. . The pierogies were good, but nearly forgettable. I wouldn't get them again, even though they had 4 versions. I tried straight creem cheese, then bacon and cream cheese. That was a bit better. . Our total bill, including 2 cans of soda, 2 sausages, 2 Stuffed cabbages, 4 pierogies, and a medium serving of pilaf, came to $32. Very reasonable, but everything was extra ordinary. Unless I was taking someone to a Ukranian/Russian restaurant, next time, I'd opt for a Greasy Spoon and try my odds at something off a limited menu somewhere else. My husband and I have eaten here many times. Everything is delicious. I don't know what I would choose as a favorite. I think I've tried almost everything on the menu. And there's nothing that I would never want again. From the salads to the desserts I always have a bit of a challenge to figure out which yummy option I want. The people are always friendly and make sure to give the best service and make sure you are satisfied with everything. It's not a big space but there are plenty tables to sit comfortably and relax. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Soloway foods a delightful Ukrainian restaurant that left a lasting impression on my palate. From the moment I walked in, the fresh, clean and modern decor and friendly staff made me feel at home. The menu offered a variety of traditional Ukrainian dishes, each more enticing than the last. They offer borscht, a hearty beet soup. The flavors are rich and balanced, with the perfect blend of sweet and savory notes. They also have pierogi, dumplings stuffed with a choice of fillings. I opted for the beef variety, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. They tasted exactly how my babcia would make them when I was a child. The cabbage rolls stuffed with a savory mixture of ground meat. The rolls were tender and flavorful. Their sausage was house made and incredible! To finish, I indulged in the cheese filled crepes which were so delicious and beautifully decorated. I wanted a slice of honey cake but they just sold out. It's made from scratch daily by the owner!!
