Consistency is an under appreciated attribute of a restaurant. We've been visiting Olesia's for a long time...pre pandemic, previous building, and throughout, the quality of the food remains excellent. For that reason alone, everyone should consider a visit. I can't get past the Pork Schnitzel and my wife loves the Salmon and the Pirogies and the sausage. They make the Crème Brûlée in house, so it is perfect. I suspect if one of the menu items we haven't tried (very few) is ordered, it would be experienced likewise. Good, just like six years ago. Want to be assured of a great meal? We went on a weekday and sat outside But waited over an hour for our orders...we weren't offered any reason for the long wait...others that came in long after us were being served. Noise level was quite high, mostly from the street & motorcycle (!) traffic. Our food was unremarkable & relatively bland.,,mostly expected of eastern european fare. We had dinner at Olesia's for an anniversary and would highly recommend. Very well decorated and nice ambiance with a beautiful bar area. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was awesome. We split a bowl of lobster bisque, enjoyed crab stuffed salmon and scallops for dinner (I guess we were in a seafood mood!) and then split the carrot cake for dessert. Stopped into Olesia's for a quick bite and hopefully some shareable options. This was my first time in and the vibes and ambiance of the place are fantastic. Super nice interior with a great patio that is well shaded. Our waiter was kind and knowledgeable of the menu. The menu is pretty large and do offer a variety of foods that deviate from their Eastern European cuisine if that is not what you are into. We got Olesia's platter to share which came with sausage, stuffed cabbage and pierogis. I'd say the pierogis were the best. The stuffed cabbage was a bit too rice heavy for my liking and I did not love it. We also ordered the deviled eggs which we all were not the biggest fans of as we found them a bit bland and very watery making them tough to eat. The final thing was the beet salad, it's very arugula heavy and I was wishing it was a bit larger with additional toppings rather than it mostly being arugula. This place is a bit on the pricier side and portions are not huge so just know that in case you are planning to potentially share something. Overall, Olesia's is a very cute place and offers a large menu and is definitely a place to give a go. their sausage was great and pierogis as well as the Saurkraut so those would be my recommendations! If I could give Olesia's 10 stars, I would. Every single bite of food was outstanding; starting with the deviled egg appetizer to the entrees and dessert, just so delicious. They have a full drink menu as well. The architecture of this restaurant is gorgeous and unique, including the wonderfully decorated large patio, makes a great place for a romantic dinner. Service was fantastic, our server Justin S, was very pleasant and polite. They have plenty of vegetarian options as well which was surprising but welcome for the vegetarian in our group. I've dined at Olesias a few times, both the main dining area and the speakeasy in the basement. The ambiance in both areas is really nice. The service in the main dining area is always great. However, when we dined in the speakeasy it was just the bartender trying to take care of bar and all the tables and the service wasn't great. My go to, the beef stroganoff - delicious every time. It pains me to give 3 stars based off all of the above. However, the older woman who is the hostess every time we have been there is disgruntled and just plain rude. She's a bad first impression and bad for business. I don't think we will be returning. read more

Even before settling in, a quick stop at the spotless restroom speaks volumes about the care taken throughout the space. I chose to sit at the bar, which offers comfortable seating and a great view of the action. Although the bartender was quite busy, she eventually greeted me warmly and offered a variety of menus. While I had browsed the restaurant's website beforehand, I did notice a few subtle differences between the online menus and what was available in person... something to keep in mind if you're planning ahead. The food and drink selections are extensive, with plenty to explore. I settled on a glass of the Inscription Pinot Noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley. It was smooth, bright, and layered with red fruit and subtle spice. It turned out to be a perfect match for the 6oz center-cut filet, which was cooked beautifully and served with silky mashed potatoes, crisp asparagus, and a tangle of crispy onions. While I could have done without the onions, everything else on the plate was spot on. I also tried a side of grilled asparagus, lightly drizzled with balsamic... simple, fresh, and just the right touch of acidity to enhance the vegetables' natural flavor. Although I passed on dessert (with Country Maid ice cream just down the road calling my name), I left thoroughly impressed and eager to return. Such a wonderful place to dine in at. We always seem to forget about it and then there's a big time gap in between our visits there. Our latest meal did not disappoint. We had shrimp cocktail, flight of soups, the SSS entree and pork schnitzel. All were very good. Only complaint is that we wish we didn't have to ask for more bread from our server when the server at the tables next to us asked them many times. Also, just because we had leftovers, doesn't mean we are not interested in dessert. Our server could have asked but lacked in that area. Overalll it was a pleasant experience , so just some constructive criticism. First, our server Brittany A was wonderful - very pleasant and knowledgeable. I started witj the Maple Bacon Old Fashioned - this drink was not good. It came with a soggy piece of bacon in it and little fat globs floating in the drink. Very off putting. The wedge salad was delicious. My meal was OK - Short Rib Crepes - flavor was good but sort of mushy texture. Also was told the grilled veggies were asparagus and zucchini - got no zucchini. Finally the tents over the patio are nice - I'm sure great for shading sun and rain - but when the lights come on - it has a bit of a cafeteria feel, would be nice if not quite so bright. Though my visit was just OK - I would return. Part of my experience was my poor choices as the other plates coming out looked delicious. read more

We made reservations on a Friday night for dinner and to see Ronnie Clinton in the speakeasy. Easy parking, speakeasy is downstairs. We ordered the chorizo meatballs for an appetizer and they were amazing- so good we both said we would order them for dinner next time, nothing like it around. We got hungry after a trip up to Cayuhoga national park and several hikes along their trails. It was a wet, rainy day and we were looking for a nice warm meal. Olesia's was definitely on the nicer side of restaurants, but they still served us and were kind regardless of our wet clothing and worn appearances. I got the meatball sliders and upgraded my fries to the rosemary garlic fries, which I'd highly recommend! The meatball sliders were great and I liked the bell pepper based sauce, nice, subtle change from the tomato sauces I'm so used to. I was also able to try the beef stroganoff and the lobster mac and cheese and both were also very delicious. I've eaten here a number of times in past it was fine, but recently got take out twice and it was horrid. Food tastes like chemicals. We had an amazing experience from start to finish planning a baby shower at Olesia's Taverne of Richfield. Alina assembled a stunning balloon arch for us which made a huge statement at our event. Let me start by saying the place is beautiful inside and our waiter was professional, top notch and very attentive. The entrees, while both tasty, left a little to be desired though. I had the Olesia's platter and I was disappointed in that the cabbage roll was 80% rice filled. Just enough meat to keep it together, I guess. The pierogis could have been Mrs. T's and it would not have mattered. It seems all potato/cheese perogies taste the same though. My wife had the beef stroganoff and said it was tasty but very mushy and not very warm. Not at all like what we have seen elsewhere. Our desert was a piece of German chocolate cake. I sat outside with my family and I really liked the big tents over our head to not deal with the sun in my eyes. The food is delicious and is a true, authentic Ukrainian kitchen. I recommend trying the pierogi, they are very good. The portions served here are large, which is what I and most people want to see in a restaraunt. However, the borsht and crab cakes we ordered for an appetizer weren't very warm and I didn't like that. My beef stroganoff for the entree wasn't hot either. My husband and I love it here! The restaurant really outdid themselves for Valentine's Day. Upon entering, the hostess gave me a gorgeous red rose. While seated at the bar having a drink, staff including the owner herself made lovely conversation with us. The ambiance normally is gorgeous and was especially lovely with the added Valentine's Day decor. Per usual, we loved the chicken paprikash and pierogis with short rib. We did however have varying opinions on the meat pies. My husband loved them and I would be fine to not order them again. We also poked our heads into the speakeasy which looked cool. Our only knock (and it may have been due to a call off on the service side we don't know) is the fact that we had to wait and wait and wait for every single thing once we were sat.
