Moke Experience was one of the highlights during my Solvang trip, I'm so happy I found them here on Yelp! My family and I arrived on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation and they were able to get us an eMoke pretty quick. I didn't know the name of the gentleman that helped us but after reading some of the other reviews here I'm pretty sure it was Quincy that assisted us. He has such a joyful personality, made us all feel so welcome and had some funny jokes to tell! Quincy went over the map of Solvang with us, making sure to point out some good spots to check out and also good areas for nice pictures to take. I really appreciate that they wanted to make sure we had a good experience and got the most out of our time with the eMoke. We ended up paying $50 for an hour. Initially we had been wanting an hour and a half because we weren't sure how long it would take to travel around Solvang and see all the sights. Honestly, an hour is more than enough time to enjoy, the town is actually quite small so you're able to drive around a few times within an hour time span. We also had enough time to stop at a couple places and take pictures too! We'll definitely be back to Moke Experience when we visit Solvang again in the future. My electrical vehicle experience (aka EVXP) was an incredible experience! Reservations were possible via a call or text, payment was easy online. We needed a 5 seater vehicle and they were able to accommodate for our party. We arrived to check-in and it effortless! We had some issues with the battery of our vehicle, but staff was quick to meet our needs and ended up giving us two four seaters when our original vehicle had battery troubles. We were able to explore the city of Solvang in the vehicle in style. Very easy to drive, built with Bluetooth and cushioned seats. Definitely recommend for all to try! read more

Talk about FUN!! The kids and I were walking around town when we saw the Mokes. We were very intrigued as you see other people driving them and have loads of fun. Listening to music and laughing. Having a great time. I told the kids to go to the hotel and drop everything off to our room and I'll get a Moke. The Owner is super nice and funny. I learned alot about what Mokes are and how they were actually used within the British Army. I rented one for approx. $50 an hour. Great price for great fun! They are electric and so easy to drive. This is an experience you CANNOT miss. You are guaranteed to have fun. Nice alternative to drive within the small town than walking everywhere when it is a but warm. Give it a go, I guarantee you will not regret it! read more

My family and I had an incredible experience with them! The welcoming staff, the cushioned seats, and the great views we drove through made it so fun and relaxing! We had battery issues on the road, but the team, especially Quincy, went above and beyond our expectations. The professionalism and kindness they showed were truly impressive. I rented one of these for my sons birthday and it was so much fun. He had a great time exploring Solvang- they are dog friendly, so we were able to take our golden, which just made it that much better. You're able to park and explore while you have the moke, which is great because its easier to park around town. We made the reservation ahead of time but they allow you to walk up and reserve as well. They were all decorated for Christmas which was super cute. The staff was helpful, friendly, and really made my sons birthday special. We would definitely rent again. read more

Moke Experience made our trip to Solvang worth the drive. We were pretty shocked at how reasonable the prices were and staff were committed to helping us find a vehicle in pink that i was dying to drive. Unfortunately, I had to settle for white but i appreciated the effort they put into it. My husband had mentioned that we were in town for my birthday and one of the employees gave me a bday card! It was such a sweet touch. Keep in mind that the town is rather small so we were surprised that we had driven through the entire downtown area rather quickly so we decided to pull over and explore some of the shops. Do yourself a favor and rent one of these babies out. It'll make the experience that much better. read more

One of the best things to do In Solvang! We called in the afternoon on Fourth of July and were told that they had a slot open at 5pm. Quincy the owner met us and after going through the required paperwork, introduced us to the yellow Moke (like smoke without the S) electric vehicle. As we rolled out for our hour ride, we blasted some Hawaiian Reggae tunes out of the Bluetooth speakers and enjoyed rolling through Solvang, waving at pedestrians headed to the mission for the fireworks. It was such a fun way to enjoy the California sunset. Great tunes, the fam, fresh air, the top down. One of the best memories made with this one. It was also fun honking and waving at fellow Moke drivers. We'd totally do this again but hope to find other EVXP experiences in other cities real soon! read more

Solvang by itself is an amazing and beautiful place to hang, but getting a EVXP takes your Solvang experience to the next level. We'll maintained and clean vehicles to cruise around town is the thing to do. Your map includes discounts to various shops as well. Many different colors to chose from so we picked the pink one. I would recommend in a sunny day to get the tarp on for added shade for your cruise. The paperwork process is easy and quick so you can start your ride. read more

Omgggg we had a blast we rented a pink one and had a ball! Quincy is literally the best! I love were late and he was so nice and got us right in!!! My family and I rented one of their electrical cars and it was so much fun. Quincy had a map ready for recommendations and a fun game to go along with the ride. If you are in SOLVANG I highly recommend visiting Moke Experience. The prices are super reasonable. The cars are clean. He had two youngsters disinfecting/cleaning the cars. The boys had great personalities and were little hustlers. read more

So we went to visit Solvang, California which is a Danish community off the 154 North. As we were walking we saw a couple of guys driving these different looking little jeep type cars. So the wife and kids were like let's see what the cost is. So we found that it is $49.99 an hour to drive one of the electric cars. These cars cost about $21,000 dollars if you want to buy one, but we were game, so we rented one. Now, I am a very secure man, but I really did not want to drive a pink little jeep car around the city, but oh my God, it was so fun. You can connect your phone to the car through Bluetooth and the kids were pumping Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj through the radio as we are cruising about town. They give you full instructions on how it works which is pretty simple. We had a blast about town and even bumped into a fellow pink Mole car driver as we were out. It so worth the cost and the fun involved is priceless. If you are in town, stop and rent one. read more

This was so much fun! We rented the pink moke for an hour and it was such a great way to explore Solvang. Staff was friendly and renting process was super simple. We didn't need reservations as it was mid week. You would probably need them on weekends when the town is much more crowded. It's a little pricey compared to just a year or two ago but still worth it. Upon return we couldn't find a person to help us so we had to wait around for a bit. I would definitely recommend you try exploring Solvang this way at least once! read more

Very easy, quite, little electric car to use around town. I rented it for only a hour which is a reasonable amount of time to tour Solvang. Pretty cool that it has a Bluetooth radio. Good customer service. The only reason why I gave them a 4 star instead of 5 is because I found this place on Yelp & seen that they offered 30 Minutes free with check in only to find it it's during the week only and not the weekends and that is not stated on the Yelp page. read more

Went to Solvang this past weekend with family. Saw this cool electric cars while we were grabbing a snack and decided to give it a try. We rented 2 cars for an hour and drove around town. At first didn't think it was going to be much fun. After turning on the car, connecting the LED lights and turning up the music, we were rolling like cool kids around town. This is our second time renting the moke. I am giving this a negative review because of price gauging in these trying days of covid! It wasn't till after I received my email confirming the $52.80 charge for an hour that I was blown away! So I searched my email with my last receipt and sure enough I had only payed $25.99 on Jan 2020. For the same hour that we drove the moke. I am really unhappy that some people are taking advantage in times like this. :-( read more

This is the absolute best way to get around Solvang, even during Covid. Forget the stupid bicycles-for-four and get yourself a Moke. Quincy is a super nice guy who was more than accommodating. Unfortunately we got here at the end of the day, but he still rented us a half hour, which was great because we really just wanted to try it out. The half hour rental price is dirt cheap, something like $28. Totally worth it if you want to try one of these things out. The cars have Bluetooth stereos which is great, because you can blast obnoxious tunes from your phone up and down Solvang streets. No deposit required either, which is nice. No stacks of paperwork, just pay the fee, fill out a short form, and you're on your way. Quincy, the owner, gave us a great map of Solvang as well as directions to popular places. The cars were clean, well maintained, and super fun to drive. We will definitely be back whenever we next stop in Solvang. read more

Soo fun! We took a Moke to a waterfall during our visit to Solvang. They are not freeway legal, and they are pretty slow, but a really fun experience. I "checked in" on Yelp and got a free 1/2 hour. They let you choose your color and they are all really clean. Be sure to ask about pairing your phone with the radio... the radio was impossible for me to figure out, so we had no tunes :( read more

Checked this place out while in Buellton. This was a really cool place. It's tricky because it's connected to a burger place, but this is a must try! What makes the experience better is hooking up the blue tooth to the radio and driving around listening to music. It was fun and will definitely be back to drive again. read more

The tour runs about an hour and a half, narrated the whole way through. Our guide, Rusty, was excellent -- knowledgeable, engaging, and easy to listen to. He mixed history with fun local details, pointing out landmarks, residents, and even a few celebrity homes. His energy kept the ride interesting from start to finish. Pro tip: Seating is a bit of a luck-of-the-draw situation. There are about four or five seats where the window is completely down -- perfect for pictures. Otherwise, most windows stay up and only open a crack for air. If photos are important to you, get in line early so you can grab those open-window spots. It's two people per bench. The rest stop was at the historic Santa Barbara Mission. We had about 15 minutes to use the restrooms, pop into the gift shop, and take pictures of the Mission's beautiful exterior. (The church wasn't open during our visit, but it often is, so worth checking next time.) Along the way, Rusty also pointed out some things I never would've noticed -- like enormous fig trees scattered around town, a fossil of a blue whale, and even a giraffe peeking its head out near the zoo! The Spanish-style architecture throughout Santa Barbara was another highlight, and being able to see so much in a short span of time made this tour feel really efficient. Meeting & Drop-off Spot: The Garden Street Visitor Center (close to the Carousel House). For brand-new visitors or anyone with limited time, this is a perfect introduction to Santa Barbara. The e-mail communication to set up the trip was excellent. Jason is a great e-mail communicator. He explained potential custom trips in detail. He explained what kind of fish to expect, what tide times are good etc. We meet at a beach parking lot in South of Santa Barbara. He is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He was very well equipped with fishing rods, baits, tools, and everything. He explained the casting to us. He offered us the different fish to target on the beach and how to target them. The place that he took us to had a school of surf perch. Almost every cast had a tuck of one of them. When we found the school head-on, almost every cast turned into a catch. We kept a dozen or so for cooking and returned extra ones to the ocean. He was very knowledgeable on any fishing topic. Particularly vividly remains in my memory the description for fishing shark at night from the shore. That seems to be a big experience. In the end, Jason cleaned up the fish for us. He was very helpful and prepared for everything. He had a camera to take photos of our catch each time. He switched us to try different baits to target other fish species. He had fresh water and gutting station set up at his truck to clean the fish. I highly recommend Break Water Tours.

The first red flag was that the company did not provide a phone number, making it difficult to get help or clarification when we needed it. We followed their directions exactly and arrived 30 minutes early. We parked in the designated lot as instructed by the person at the gate, but our guide never came to meet us. We eventually had to drive into the park ourselves and locate the guide, who was parked on the side of the road. There was no clear signage identifying the company or where customers were supposed to check in. Once we finally found the guide, the intake process took approximately 40 minutes. After all of that, we paid approximately $700 for a ride that lasted only about 20 minutes. We were also promised pictures from the experience, but no pictures were ever provided. What made the experience even worse was the customer service afterward. Rather than taking responsibility for the poor communication, unclear instructions, lack of signage, and failure to provide what was promised, the company provided little to no accountability. For the amount of money we spent, this was absolutely not the experience we expected. Poor communication, poor organization, inadequate customer service, and failure to deliver what was promised. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company and would strongly encourage others to consider other ATV companies before booking.

Best decision ever! Although getting to the meeting point was a bit scary as we drove 15 mph through winding roads next to steep cliffs, the views were nice and the ATV experience was totally worth it! We gave ourselves plenty of time to get lost and it took us about 1.5 hours to get to the checkpoint. Luckily Google Maps was on the entire time and we even had an hour to kill on top of the mountain before our 12:30pm appointment. (Also had screenshots of the directions in case we lost service). Upon arrival, we met with the two girls who were wearing face masks and face shields so we felt safe. They had all the sanitizing stuff. They checked us all in, gave us each a mesh covering for our head, pairs of gloves, goggles and helmets. They offered different insurance plans (just like a rental car company), each ranging in price. Then, they walked us over to the ATVs where Jorge was our tour guide. He asked us if we've ever rode before and taught us how to use the automatic ATVs and made us feel comfortable and safe. (Throttle was on the right handle bar and brakes on the left. Second brake was a foot pedal). We drove on wide and narrow trails, over some fun rocky areas, kicking up lots of dust, and he took photos of us the entire time. This was a great family bonding experience and we're all still talking about how fun it was and want to do it again. Know Before You Go: It gets dusty so wear clothes and closed toe shoes that you're ok getting dirty. Give yourself plenty of time to drive to the location because the last thing you want to do is rush through the scary mountain roads. 10/10 would definitely do this again!

alright so how we stumble upon Moke Experience was truly something... so there's this bicycle shop where we rented a six seater which was fun for about 10 minutes until it started to seem more of a work out afterwards as well as it not letting you go far and what solvang has to offer but then...... stumbling upon Moke Experience where we were introduced by the owner of the place and was offered to rent out these cool electric cars and that can let's us travel a lot more further then the bikes can! so we quickly biked our way back to the bike rental place and thanked them of course! Quickly went back to Moke and rented out two of these awesome cars that is great for exploring/seeing what solvang has to offer!! It was pretty awesome to ride and clean inside as well! The cars usually have no roofing but you can ask for one if you do have an issue with the sun hitting your face! Overall great customer service and recommend to any tourist checking out solving to rent these bad boys out! read more

My visit to Solvang today was awesome and my Moke Experience made it so much better. This one of a kind experience was unmatched. Quincy (I call him "Q") and Patrick made sure I got a clean and comfortable car and they were thorough in explaining the operating instructions. It was very easy to drive, exciting and my family looked cool in the car! We paired our blue tooth to the radio and we were jamin to our music! It's super cheap and well worth the time! The employees treat you like family. They are kind, caring, professional and polite. I've only been there 4 times but I feel like I've known them for years! We visited the Solvang Moke location. We were helped by the nicest guy Quincy. He was super helpful and extremely nice. He answered all of our questions and didn't pressure us at all to use the service. The pricing is very reasonable. I would definitely use Quincy's location again. When I walked past the moko cars I knew I had to try it. We often visit this beautiful area and now after a couple of months of trying it I gotta say it was a blast! The crew is great and the car is fun to Cruze around in it. We took the black one very fast. You should really try it it is an amazing experience. Had a blast in the Broncows!!! Customer service was great and the price was super reasonable. 100% would recommend! We were camping in RVs so we wouldn't have been able to drive around and sight see. These Broncos came in clutch! The horns on the grill and cow horn were attention grabbers. People couldn't help but point and smile. read more

I've been back like 6 times now and it never gets old. I love taking my daughter on daddy daughter days and exploring Solvang on these zippy MOKE cars. The best way to see Solvang! Cruised around for a couple hours visiting bakeries and shopping then drove out to Nojoqui Falls past beautiful Alisail Ranch. We had a large group of people with 6 cars, Quincy was awesome and super accommodating! read more

We spent the day wandering around, soaking in the sights, chatting with locals, and even visiting a charming little art and nature museum. However, I found the tour to be a bit lacking in substance. Much of the information was vague, leaving us with unanswered questions. There was even a development featuring some unique houses that piqued our curiosity. My family and another family on the tour tried asking the guide about it, but we didn't get any answers. When we passed the museum, the guide briefly mentioned the famous troll but skimmed over some intriguing details, like the fact that it was crafted by a Danish artist using reclaimed wood--except for its imported head direct from Denmark. We learned those fascinating tidbits almost immediately upon entering the museum earlier. (The whole point of this town is that it's a Danish settlement.) There were other aspects that fell short, too. The website implied that we would have a chance to go inside the museum during the tour, but since we took a later trolley ride, the museum was unfortunately closed by the time we arrived. I really wish they had made it clearer that we wouldn't be able to visit. My biggest complaint, though, is the price. At $34, it felt like a steep investment for what we received. I believe if the ticket had been around $10, it might have felt more worth it. As it stands, we walked away feeling a bit disappointed and like we didn't quite get our money's worth. They also will let you know at the end. If you would like to give her gratuity, that you can.

We were staying in Solvang so saved $10 per person by meeting at the starting point, Brander Vineyards (vs taking the van from SB), and he sent me info on what time to get there and where to park ahead of time. There was no time wasted on this tour. We got a quick info session on how to use the e-bikes - VERY easy! - and then got started. The 16-ish mile ride was easy on the e-bikes; the one thing I will say is that I'm grateful everyone on our tour chose them because it definitely would have been different if there had been people utilizing regular bikes on the uphill climbs. We stopped for rests and photos several times, including at a mini horse farm! My 17-year-old was with me and when we made our last stop at the lavender farm William grabbed him a lavender lemonade since he obviously couldn't partake in the wine tastings. Great service! Speaking of wine tastings, there were two included, and we also got some great souvenir water bottles with the brand name on them! The lunch - caprese-style sandwiches, side salad, and charcuterie boards - was also awesome. We also had an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting toward the end, which was a really neat touch :) I can't say enough good things about this tour, especially for the price we paid. I did a tour in Sonoma last year that was more expensive and didn't include any wine tastings at all, and while I had a great time on that tour regardless, this one was above and beyond and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

Across the street is the Farmstead, complete with adorable animals--including baby pigs and a miniature Highland cow named Hubba Bubba!
