When you walk in you get this calm atmosphere that I love. Everyone is so helpful and kind, I've been coming here for a while and I LOVE Kira. I would call and come in and they can match you to the person who will melt and fix and correct whatever you need. Kira, is my girl. I need a stronger massage and I also get cupping done. She is amazing and all I did was tell her my concerns and she was able to bring me back to life after every session. I recommend doing 60 min, that's what I do. It's worth it, I come every month and see her. Again, talk to them and they can match you with the right person. I would come in 15 min early just to settle in and do paperwork if it's your first time but also if you are not. Just being here is so nice and calming. It had been over a year since I've had a massage - pedis are great but I need more tension squeezed out. I am physically active 7 days a week (weight training 5x, walking 6x & hiking1x). After going through a bit of stress over the year, one of my friends referred me to Soma! I easily booked an appointment on the site. You do need to pay attention and not miss an appointment. Anything under 24 hours cancellation you have to pay for. I prefer a firm massage so I chose Mitchell! He talked me through the process and away we went. I thought I knew where my tense trouble spots were but I was mistaken. I had little knots all over my body, stored up from a year of compression. I'm a little sore right now but nothing a ton of water won't take away from my system! Totally worth the expense and I am definitely adding this to my future wish list. CANCELLATION POLICY i had previously written a great review for SOMA and was very impressed with their services. i have booked more time but i will not be going back unless i get a refund or "store credit". i booked an appointment around 3 pm to see someone the next day as my VIP text had stopped working (this was my fault i must've cancelled them) so i booked for the next morning. maybe 3 hours later i called back and said i wouldn't be able to make it in. they charged me the full $90 (price was adjusted to the proper $80) and i was so hurt. i am a college student with chronic neck pain who can't afford to lose $80 to NOTHING!! unfortunately i will not be coming back here until this is resolved. read more

Had a massage scheduled for 10:30 this morning. Arrived early to get paperwork filled out. Greeted nicely by the lady at the front desk. Massage therapist came out, never introduced herself, took me back for my massage, asked what type of massage I wanted and then didn't say much after that. She rushed through the message - it was "ok", but certainly less than I expected. I understand that some clients want total silence, but it should have been apparent to this lady that I wasn't one of them. After attempting to start a conversation once or twice, I gave up. I'm not sure if she was having an off day or was new to the profession, but not engaging with your client, repeating their name back to them or even introducing yourself, in order to show some sort of connection, is just not acceptable to me. Soma Message Therapy is wonderful. I have suffered with Chronic Migraines daily for over 6 years and my neurologist suggested I begin going for migraine message therapy. I've been going one or two times a month and it seems to really help the pain in my back and assist in easing the pain a bit. I've also recently started having cupping done by Sarah. I was in dire need of a massage (thanks, pandemic stress!) and was so excited to book an appointment for a 90 minute deep tissue. My mom and I were hoping to both get appointments at the same time, but it was a little tricky with scheduling. I was pleasantly surprised that the owner even texted with me and called so that we could work out a time. I ended up just scheduling for myself, and arrived a couple days later for my treatment! I arrived yesterday (Wednesday) for my scheduled appointment and made sure to have my mask on prior to entry. Per their new protocol, clients are required to wash hands first and then proceed to the lobby area. I did as such and then filled out the necessary paperwork before being lead to a room just off of the front desk. Emily was my massage therapist and warmly greeted me and asked about my pressure preferences and targeted areas. She ended up completely dazzling my senses and was so thorough with working out all of my knots, even in areas around my neck and back that I didn't realize were in desperate need of care. I love that she paid close attention to my scalp, as I frequently get migraines, and she did an amazing job getting out so much tightness in my shoulders. The 90 minutes flew by, and I felt like a new person by the end! Pricing-wise, Soma is excellent! You get so much bang for your buck that I would happily come here once a week if I could! I have been here a handful of times. I embrace their devotion to diversity. But, let me get to the service. Service is great. In particular, I have booked with Daniel twice and he has provided the absolute best massages I have ever had. Now, I have had massages at Canyon Ranch, the Venetian in Vegas, in Norway, many other high end hotels and spas, and many other locations. I have RA and suffer greatly from stress based tension to the point of having gone to get cortisone shots in my back only to have them puncture a lung at a local doctor's office. Two weeks ago I couldn't lift my head off a pillow without lifting it with my hands. It was better by the time I went to Soma today but was still painful. This evening I can actually move my head in full range of motion without wincing. Please give Soma a try. read more

My first experience with soma massage was amazing. I received a 30 minute energy work session and massage and my practitioner was just great. It was the right amount of pressure, she was very patient and kind, and it just was exactly what I needed. However I went back for a 45 minute massage a few weeks later, and the quality was similar. However, they charge $20 more for a 45 minute massage than they do for a 30 minute massage. Yet my 45 massage lasted less than 35 minutes. It was an 1130 massage and I was in the parking lot by 1208. I didn't check my phone or the time when she stopped the massage, I just trusted that my masseuse had given me the full amount of time. I know it is customary to end a session a few minutes before it's scheduled to allow for the client to get dressed but this seemed excessive. I had gotten dressed, paid, and walked out to my car, all 7 minutes BEFORE my massage was scheduled to end. When I contacted Soma to ask what their normal policy was, I received no response. I greatly enjoyed my experience but I can't justify going back to a business that wouldn't return my honest questions about the service I received. And again, it was great service. But if I was in the car and done by 12:08? I have to assume it took me at least 3 minutes to pay and get dressed. My massage didn't start exactly at 1130 either, due to getting undressed time. So if you take 2 minutes off for the initial undressing and another 3 for the paying and getting dressed, I was only actually massaged for 33 minutes. Which means I paid $55 for a 45 minute massage that lasted 33 minutes and no one at the business cared about that enough to reach out when I complained. So other customers, be aware of the time and make sure you don't end up paying a ridiculous surcharge for a full 3 minutes ‍ read more

I scheduled a massage weeks in advance for my husband for Father's Day, which was much needed. I got a call that morning saying they had to cancel because the massage therapist called in sick. I understand people get sick but it was still upsetting I felt bad because my husband had been looking forward to it and I had heard great things about Soma. Some of their best and most booked therapists are parting ways after poor management and rumored(yet true) discrepancies and issues. A male therapist had 2 complaints called into management for sexual assault and inappropriate touching and he continued to work there for 2 months, BIG issue. After which, a lot of people called in for refunds and stopped going here when the facts circled Denton. I still don't think he was reported to the state, goes to show money as a priority over safety of clients. Secondly, another male therapist has been working while having active ringworm on his hand/arm, claiming "being on an antibiotic is good enough" to keep touching people with an open wound. I have a hard time voting them so low as they have been voted Denton's best for a couple years, but it looks as if the tides are changing quickly for them. read more
