A friend recommended SOMA for under pinnings and I finally made the effort to stop by because I was in the market and I wanted a store that had employees to help with fitting and recommendations. And they did. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of bras and panties as well as all the other comfortable offerings they had, Just in time for the gift giving season and the colder weather. I didn't realize besides underwear they have lots of super comfy lounge wear that is nice enough to wear in and outside the home. There was warm and fuzzy socks and loads of PJ's in beautiful fabric and design. The selection was vast and the prices are very fair with discounts and sales throughout the store. I was told this is a woman owned company and they definitely get us. It was worth the trip. read more

I went in to the store and started looking at bras and underwear. No one smiled, asked if I needed help or approached me. There was 3 employees, 2 behind the counter yick yacking amongst themselves. One other was helping 2 customers. I stayed for about 5 minutes, after never even being acknowledged, left the store. The products seemed flimsy and overpriced, will never go back there. read more

Okay, before you say "Ewhhh" to this guy reviewing a lingerie store.... My lovely spouse over the past few years has purchased lingerie here. At purchase time she was satisfied with the quality to price ratio. But then I noticed that she did not wear the items after 2 times and the items were in the goodwill bin soon there after. I'm a middle-aged married guy who has thought about wearing panties for a long time. Sure, I tried playfully with a girlfriend for a few minutes many years ago, but I've literally never worn a pair of panties for any length of time before. I decided to use Soma's buy online, pickup in store service as I'm not ready to share this desire with my wife - who knows, if I decide I'm doing this regularly, I will discuss it: but, I could be one and done. Anyway, on to the Soma store in Montgomery Village. I went to pick up my order, and I'm sure it was obvious that I was nervous and uncomfortable... I was totally impressed by the professional service I received. The SA who greeted me was friendly and professional and helped me get in and out quickly ... probably sensing my discomfort. Both the Soma website and the store offered many styles, colors, and fabrics to choose from and their multi unit sales were such good value that I bought more panties than I planned to, to figure this thing out. At this point, I don't know if I'll be back because I'm still not sure if this will be a regular thing ... But, if it does ... I'll gladly go back to this store ... and who knows, maybe even get the courage to shop in person. read more

I said I needed help finding a new bra- she basically pulled my size and left me, didn't ask if I needed help getting measured or anything. I'll just go back and grab my usual Victorias Secret ones. I hate writing reviews and prefer to delete those emails but I have to rave about my experience at Soma in Santa Rosa this past week. I was going to a big event in two days and my mom and I needed a bra. My mother told me she didn't like Soma bras but after Courtney helped us she sang a different tune. She admitted 'maybe she had on the wrong bra' because now she likes her Soma bra. Courtney helped me find a strapless bra to go with my dress for this event. After, I went home and tried it on with my dress the bra was not well hidden. The next day I went back and thank goodness Courtney was there to save the day. I was shocked she remembered my bra size, she pulled a bra in my size without question. As I tried on the bra(s), I did feel like little miss muffet as I searched for the right bra. This bra is too dark, this bra is too flat, etc. Every time I came out to point out what was wrong with my dress on Courtney had a different bra in mind. After about 5 tries we found the right bra that wasn't strapless, wouldn't show with my dress, and didn't make me look flat. I will say finding the right person to help you find the right bra is a lot like dating. You have to find the right person to help you find the right bra for you. read more

A year and a half after having a baby I needed to invest in good bras again. Courtney greeted me and I told her I needed a bra fitting. She asked what I was looking for and brought me to a dressing room. After measuring me she brought me 4 different bra styles to try and explained their benefits. I tried them on and found a style that was super comfortable. She then lead me to the drawer to pick out more colors. 10/10 experience. Way better then VS. Thanks Courtney! read more

The ladies here took amazing care of my Mom when she came in to get fitted. They spent a lot of time with her making sure that she got exactly the fit she needs, in fact she loved the bra so much she threw her old one away and wore the new one out! :-D Highly recommended this place tho based on other reviews suggest you call ahead and make sure they can accommodate you and are open when you come by, and give them at least 30-45 min for everything (don't show up 10 min before close!) read more

We arrived in Santa Rosa on Friday January 6th to go to our grandsons 2nd birthday. After my wife shopped at J. Jill she went into Soma to purchase petite small pajama bottoms. I was inside the store watching in a chair. There were two salespeople at 1:44. The shorter older lady was helping my wife. My wife found the style but not the size in stock. When she asked if it could be ordered the sales lady basically said that if you want it online you have to do it yourself at home. My wife purchases (or rather purchased) a lot from Soma. If this is the corporate idea of helpfulness she will purchase elsewhere. I contacted Soma Corporate on Monday and they will investigate and do internal retraining as needed. read more

Wow! What a great day and adventure in Santa Rosa, CA! Although this is a small boutique, I was greeted immediately by ANN(e) and she helped me navigate my choices. I was REALLY crunched for time, and had to focus on selecting the right bras, the right fit, and panties too! All in about 20-30 minutes. I could not have done it without you Ann(e)! I am telling you - she waited on me hand-and-foot - or should I say tits-and-ass! Oh my! (Sorry, just wanted to keep it light and funny!) No, seriously - she ran back and forth with new sizes and lovely essentials... I couldn't have made all the right selections without her. And - when it was time to leave - I really had to go. I was on a serious time crunch! And she was getting me looked up on the computer - and ordering the extra panties to be shipped to me... Lo & behold! NONE of the merchandise I chose was on sale, and she was sweet enough to find me a coupon. She rang me up - and then we realized that the shipping address was wrong! No worries! She went back into the computer and intercepted the order and then called me immediately to reprocess the order correctly, efficiently, and to the correct address. Heard about Soma and have been wanting to check it out, Finally went. Anne helped me with my bra fitting she was wonderful!! Anne knows the business. She brought me several bras to try on some fit better than others but I found two that I just love. I have to say a huge thank you to Anne because during the fitting I was having hot flashes, it was horrible! She was so nice and brought me a glass of water, a wet paper towel and she turned the AC up. Couldn't of asked for a more professional person to help me. I had an excellent experience here yesterday and wanted to share my good experience with others. The person who looked after me had lots of patience while we returned lots of items I had ordered online and then when I ordered a few other items they didn't have in their store, she extended the free shipping and 20% discount that i had had with my original order. Even after I returned home and called them to insist that they had not packed all my items they spent the time to explain more than once what had happened (that I had paid in the store but the item would be shipped to me). I love these bras, but their return policy is the worst! I'm considering finding a new brand to wear. I bought a front closure vanishing back bra and 3 months after I bought it, the front clasp started twisting sideways making it unwearable. It is a defect as I own a handful of Soma bras and none of them do this. I called and they said after 60 days they won't do anything. So $50 for a bra that lasted 3 months?....no thank you. Fix your policy on defective merchandise please! read more

Great selection of bras in a wide range of sizes. I came in looking for a minimizer after being told at two other stores that they had nothing in my size (I'm not that hard to fit, honestly). Anne is simply the best. After a not so good experience I went to Soma and was greeted by Anne. We told her the size we were looking for and age offered to size me. We went into a dressing room, she sized me and we found out I was actually a size smaller than what we are looking for. She brought me a few different styles and a few different colors and the second style I tried on I absolutely fell in love with. Being that I'm a G cup it's very hard for me to find bras that fit and are comfortable and sexy, this place was awesome and had a great selection compared to most other places. I had an amazing experience this afternoon. Anne was so incredibly helpful. She spent at least an hour with me pulling different bras and helping me adjust them for the perfect fit. I just finished breastfeeding and couldn't wait to get into some real bras. Time will tell, because this is the first time I have bought this brand, but I already feel like the quality of these bras is far superior to Victorias Secret for the same price. The sales people great, the garments.............not so much. I bought 6 pairs of panties and within several months despite infrequent wear and washing according to manufacturers instructions 3 of the 6 began to fray. I contacted customer service department via email and was instructed to send the products to them by a trackable form of mail for a quality review. Are you kidding me?! The garments were $6 a pair! It would cost me more then that to ship them! In my opinion this is a ridiculous protocol and certainly not consumer friendly. It would be far more cost effective to just replace the items and keep a customer. I guess the take away is, if you are tempted to try these garments make sure you are very happy with your purchase because apparently it's a final sale. read more

I've had quite a few interactions with this SOMA store and SOMA online. I feel I have enough experience with them to have a valid opinion. Here's the good stuff first. Lyndsie seemed very helpful when I went in to get all new bras due to weight loss. She spent a lot of time with me and made many recommendations. I bought 5 bras and several pairs of panties as well as lingerie wash and a lingerie bag. Some items were not in stock and were ordered. They arrived in a timely manner and there was no shipping charge. The lounge bras were really comfy as was the demi cup bra. Here comes the not so good stuff. i.e, what I can remember. Upon wearing I realized that the size recommended for the lounge bras was not right. I ordered a larger size because I like them. I now have 2 useless bras. The two smooth cup bras are incredibly uncomfortable. One does remotely fit. This happens because the bra you try-on is not the one you buy. Also there was not one black demi cup bra in the store. I found out later that the new smooth cup one bra recommended by Lyndsie has NO matching underpants. It is discontinued. We discussed how much I want matching lingerie. That makes that bra worthless. I wash the formed cup bras by hand. I wash the lounge bras and panties in a lingerie bag and air dry them. One of the panties split the first time I wore it. I have never had that happen before. When I tried to buy panties to match the nude formed cup bra sold to me, Marisa was so obnoxious and unhelpful, it ruined the entire process. I should have returned everything after that but, I was still in salvage mode and these werre the only bras I had. I decided to order what I like online to avoid the store, I needed to xchg one pair of panties. They advertise easy xchgs in the store. A somewhat older woman (no name tag) took the item I wanted to xchg and my receipt, put them behind the counter and disappeared. When I had to ask her twice where to find the item to xchg, she told me to find it myself. Yes, this is exactly what happened. There is more but, here's the bottom line: service online is very good. Service and recommendations in the store in my experience are atrocious. One person was nice but made bad recommendations. The other two were obnoxious and rude. I can pick out uncomfortable bras all by myself. I have never purchased such a poor quality panty in my long life. The store is a big, big disappointment. I had hopes of professional help and good quality lingerie easily accessible in Montgomery Village but, I'm on my own again unless I want to go to Nordstrom in Corte MAdera. read more

The items are beautiful and the staff is helpful however the underwear and pajamas do not wear well. The lace on the underwear rips easily and so do the pajamas even the ones without the lace. All 4 of the Babydoll's I bought have gaping holes in the lace area and the recent Cool Nights sleeveless night shirt ripped 2 1/2 below the collar. All this happened within months of wearing an after the return time expired. At these prices they should be able to stand up to the twisting and turning one does at night. I will no longer be supporting this store at any location. read more
