My regular nail tech was busy (nails of beauty) so I stopped in to Vlair because I had to catch a flight and could not wait. Anyway, oh my gosh! When you walk in, you are greeted with a very welcoming space with floral wallpaper, and touches of girly gold! Heaven! And they sell a few high end products (scents, hand cream). They were SO nice. I was offered a beverage and was served a sparking water with a lemon slice in a pink textured glass with a napkin on a gold tray! The nail techs wear scrubs so that's cool. And it doesn't matter to me which nationality, or the color of your skin, or the language you speak, but because it has become the norm to expect Asians at nail salons, I would like to let you know that this is run by people that I think are Russian, but I don't really know. It's not important to me. Just mentioning because it's different. It was so relaxing! If you've been to paint nail bar, it's like that, but elevated! I had a pedicure and it was excellent. The attention to detail and delicate movements was far beyond expectations. A few weeks ago I went to Milano's (I think I spelled it correctly. It's where Kristi's Nails was in the HEB center at jones and west. Anyway, horrible. They have such a 'tude and it was horrible - especially the painting of toes). TBH if you've looking for vibrating chairs, someone to dig out ingrown nails, and something wild, this is not for you. I would not think my husband would like it. He wants the vibrating chairs! If you're looking for serenity and care, then this is for you. It felt like Woodhouse Day Spa. And they do not use the foot grater, which I stopped doing a few years ago when I realized it was actually causing more roughness. I was trying treat my grandma to a pedicure. She has neuropathy & has swelling in her legs. The water for both her & I was scalding hot. Took 3 attempts to get the temperature right. The tech that worked on mine & my grandmother's feet were both rude & not friendly. Only one other customer was there and she was finishing up a manicure. Alena was the only tech free when we first walked in and she avoided us by sitting down and filing her own nails until the owner told her something. I wasn't happy with my current place because of the time it took and declining quality of work. I brought my 4 month old in with me on this recent visit to USA nails. She's my easy baby, luckily I was able to leave my high energy 2 year old home with her dad. I am glad I found USA nails and Steven. The salon staff were all friendly and the salon was nice & clean considering the exterior of this shopping strip. I walked in on a Thursday morning around 10 am. Steven started working on my nails right away. He took off my old set and gave me a new one within an hour. He was gentle with the take off and new set. He did NOT drill down or file my nails down all thin. I was pleasantly surprised. Some places are rough and leave my nails in pain. (Awesome on the service time). Steven was very professional and knowledgeable on the CnD products he carries at his salon. How cool is that he's a brand ambassador for CnD products. They have sooooo many colors to choose from. The nail color swatches are easy to look through and aren't all bulky and labeled clearly. Oh and not to mention this cool nail polish mixing machine. They have different washing scrubs at the sink & lotions at the front register for you to try. They smell good and left my hands sooo soft. Ming brought me a small bottle of water at the beginning of my service. He is personable and friendly as well. I was able to squeeze in a pedicure while I was there since my babygirl stayed calm. The massage chairs were strong and relaxing while I got my pedicure. My pedicure polish did chip at the tip with a day but I didn't have time to go back in for them to fix it.
