We visited on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised that the park wasn't too crowded. Because of this, we had extra time for a few additional stops along the route, which was a great bonus. All of the stops were amazing, especially Old Faithful and Artist Point. We were also lucky enough to see an incredible variety of wildlife, including a grizzly bear, black bear, bison, elk, and more. One thing to note is that most stops are about 20-50 minutes long, so there isn't a lot of time to fully explore each area or purchase food. Our group chose to include lunch through the company, and it was more than enough for lunch. I would suggest to bring some snacks if you're a snacker. I loved the water bottle design they provided and ended up bringing it home as a souvenir. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Yellowstone!

The steak was very inconsistent and mine was awful...twice! I asked for medium and it was well done....twice. Dry and tough and half of it was straight up fat. My friend, on her second round, got a steak that was so marbled it looked like A5 wagyu! She was so full by then she couldn't finish. Her son wouldn't let it go to waste and took one for the team and gobbled it up. I looked on enviously the entire time. Most of sides and dessert were meh. The one exception was the Roosevelt beans that were the BOMB! I don't even like beans, but these were fantastic. Many in our party also commented favorably on them. Nice they gave us the recipe! To start with, the company is owned and operated by Nathan Varley (Ph.D), who participated in the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone in 1995. Our guides, Michelle and Jamie, were extremely knowledgeable about the park and its wildlife and plants/trees. The tour has close connections to the most accomplished biologists studying the Yellowstone Wolves, so they have access to the latest information on the location and activity of the wolf packs. Nature being nature, you can't expect guarantees that you'll see wolves, but we saw 10 wolves from the Eight Mile pack and several from the Junction Butte pack on our first day. We also saw a black bear sow and her two cubs emerge from their den, as well as a fox, mountain goats, big horn sheep, elk, and buffalo. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the evening programs and the evening meal. Chef Zac prepared possibly the best meals we have ever had, anywhere. He really is incredible. Dr. James Halfpenny's presentation on Track Scene Investigation (TSI) was not only educational but fascinating as well. Bob Landis, who won an Emmy Award for his documentary "Wolf Pack" previewed his latest documentary project on the birds of Yellowstone, with his usual outstanding nature photography. The tour provides high quality spotting scopes (Swaroski and Nikon), so there's no need to bring your own, but you'll probably want to bring a decent pair of binoculars. One actually interposed itself between a large buffalo waltzing down the road and a motorcycle rider it was overly interested in. O.O! The crowd here can be very, very busy. I highly suggest getting here as early as possible - right when they open preferably. It's still busy but gives you a few hours start on the REAL crowd and makes the day much nicer.

Bright and early, but worth it. We communicated with Audra way in advance and shared our desire to do a 1/2 day tour. We didn't have a long stay and wanted to maximize our visit to Yellowstone. She customized our trip exactly the way we wanted. Typically, the tours start very early (5-6a) but since we were coming from Big Sky, we could only meet our tour guide, Spencer, at 7a. It was the most amazing tour. Spencer took us to Slough Creek to see if we could spot wolves. We set up shop, had our binoculars and sure enough after 30 minutes, an entire den of wolves and their pups came out! We then moved over to another spot and witnessed coyotes defending their kill with a lone wolf. It was a sight. Then we saw a herd of bison, and a solo bison crossing the bridge. We saw red tail hawks, a red fox and white mountain. All slights were captured on video by our fabulous expert tour guide, Spencer. While en route, the driver rear-ended a fully stopped vehicle at highway speed. The impact was significant and airbags deployed. My wife and two children (both under 10) were in the vehicle. EMTs evaluated us on scene and, thankfully, everyone ultimately recovered, though there was bruising and soreness following the collision. What was most disappointing was the lack of follow-up or care from the company. We had to initiate contact ourselves days later and never received any meaningful outreach, apology, or effort to ensure our family was okay or to take ownership of the situation. Accidents can happen, but how a company responds matters. I waited several weeks to post this to give them time to do the right thing.

Before we even reached Yellowstone, we marveled at the picturesque landscapes and visited two quaint Montana towns, Cooke City and Silver Gate. We even entered the park via the less-traveled Northeast entrance. Heather was a fountain of knowledge, pointing out wildlife, identifying bird calls, explaining geological features, and offering insights about local plant species. We knew we were in for a treat when we saw a majestic bull moose, its massive antlers on full display. Heather had binoculars and a scope on hand, enabling us to appreciate the wildlife in incredible detail. As we journeyed through Lamar Valley -- the "American Serengeti" -- Heather was always the first to spot the Bison. We saw a vast herd of these "American Buffalo" and their calves often referred to as "red dogs" due to their color, roaming as far as the eye could see. Pronghorn Antelopes were also seen mingling with the herd, a sight that was a poignant reminder of nature hundreds of years ago! Throughout the day, we saw more of Yellowstone's wildlife -- Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Goats, and Elk, often with their young. We enjoyed a fresh and tasty deli lunch at a hotel in Mammoth Springs, a historic district formerly known as "Fort Yellowstone." Heather shared the evolving story of Mammoth Springs. We ended the day with not one, but two Black Bear sightings at different points. We even joked with Heather about arranging a Grizzly Bear appearance, and as we drove on Sylvan Pass towards the East Entrance, there it was, a massive Grizzly Bear! It seemed like every wildlife sighting was perfectly timed, although we know it was pure luck. But we'd like to think that Heather was our lucky charm! By the way, Cathy and Alvin, the owners of Cody Shuttle, are truly dedicated to their service. We met them during our tour; they were exploring the park on a holiday, looking for ways to enhance their tour plans.
