I arrived early and I was glad I did. Vendors were selling out of produce quickly and parking is limited.o When I visited yesterday, the market had 1/3 vendors selling about produce, 1/3 bakery items and 1/3 arts and crafts. I saw everything from artsy marbles to dog treats. I counted about 25 vendors, it's a small market. There was a musician setting up to play music, but didn't start before I left. A cute little food truck was selling a limited menu of breakfast items and sandwiches. People were friendly. I bought the most beautiful pack of salad greens that I have ever seen anywhere. I also bought a massive amount of oyster mushrooms and some beautiful beets. You just can't find this quality of produce in a grocery store. And as I was leaving, I spotted some baklava that I had to have. Prices were good (for what I bought). I had my little dog with me and he was happy on a lease with people cooing over him. I like this little market, but I recommend getting there early if you are shopping for veggies.

I was there early, 4:45 pm and about a dozen venders were set up and eager to sell. I saw produce, eggs, bird feeders, a couple booths of baked goods and a few craft tables. A donut food truck was on site for people who like that evening donut. A folksy band was setting up to play. Overall, the farmers market is smaller than others in the area. I like shopping local for the freshest produce. I bought some mixed produce from a farm stand and a delicious jalapeño score from Jensen. That scone was delicious and had me craving another. Prices were reasonable. People were nice. The market is held on the grounds of the Community Center. Plenty of parking was set up in a field.

The baked goods are professionally packaged. The sourdough breads are nothing short of beautiful! She offered several variations including a jalapeño cheese version. I snagged a plain loaf at $10 to take home. The bread has a great sourdough flavor and a chewy texture with lots of air pockets. This was the best sourdough bread that I have had in a long time. At the recommendation of a neighbor, I also picked up a cinnamon roll, which are huge at $5. The frosting is somewhat addictive. The roll is shareable, but you won't want to. The food is out with an honor box for cash. She also accepts Venmo. I'm not sure how to know the hours and if stuff is out because it's a long drive to Gatesville from anywhere. I usually go for the Razz-Matazz iced latte (raspberry and dark chocolate), but this time, I decided to branch out and try one of the seasonal specials, the Frosted Animal Cookie Latte. The presentation reminded me of the viral "dot cakes" with the vibrant pink cold foam and nonpareil sprinkles. It's definitely on the sweeter side, but I love sweet, so it was perfect for me! I am also impressed with how friendly the staff is. They are always polite and efficient, and they are always diligent about watching out for allergies. I appreciate that they have a list of common allergens that are used in their drinks at the register. Soma really has something for everyone, so it's the perfect coffee shop for groups!

While visiting this particular spot, my boyfriend was delighted to find they offer the Swamp, although it's not listed on their menu--a pleasant surprise for those in the know. The location doesn't have much indoor seating, but it does also offer outdoor seating. Luckily today, the indoor seating was available with many tables still open but with some tables needing some TLC.

I was a little overwhelmed! I ended up getting a GF blueberry muffin and chai latte for there, and a chocolate chip cookie to go. My husband got a regular blueberry scone and coffee. The baked goods were delicious. The cookie was huge, soft and delicious! They have a small area to sit and eat inside. The tables are decorated with teacups, saucers, and fresh flowers. All of the employees were extremely nice and helpful. They also take orders for cakes. I would definitely go back to try other items!

My favorite was the lemon and blueberry pastry, because layered pastry and fruit is a winning combination. I wish I could have visited Offbeet Bakery in person. I did see the outside of the bakery, which is located close to the Brown County library. Apparently, Offbeet also sells coffee and espresso, and they also do custom cakes, too. They are active on social media, so go seek them out there if you want to know the new things they are baking up.

ALL of the staff members were so friendly and helpful with us trying to decide what craft we wanted to do. We ultimately all chose to paint and got to take our time- we were there for hours, but never felt rushed. They assisted us multiple times with finding paint colors or making ones that were a blend of multiple colors. You can also do candle making (which other people did while we were there), macrame, faux succulent planters, make your own water bottle, etc. I chose a mushroom planter and it turned out so cute! I put one of my pothos in it and it fit perfectly and now sits on one of my bookshelves. Two of my cousins chose to do different face/bust vases, my third cousin chose to do a travel coffee cup, and my aunt chose to do a trinket dish. All of their pieces turned out beautifully as well, but I didn't snap photos of those after they got them back. My aunt picked up my piece when she went back to get all of theirs and then I got it from her the next time I saw them, but you can also have it shipped to you if you don't live close by. The inside has a big shop area with decor, ornaments, etc and then there is a cafe in the back for coffee, tea, sodas, and little treats. If I didn't live an hour away, then I would be here every weekend lol Percy, the shop dog, was so sweet and was napping up by the register when we came in. My cousins are obsessed with him, so they even got a photo with him before we left. A true diva.

The market runs from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. When I arrived shortly after 5:00, parking was at a premium and some products were already sold out. There were tents selling local popcorn, honey, crocheted goods, flowers, produce, baked goods, meats and more. I saw a long line of people waiting for fresh guacamole. A folk band played and sang. I counted at least six food trucks selling tacos, more tacos, donuts and juices. I bought some fresh broccoli from Heirloom Farms. I thought prices were high for a farming community, but in line with other farmers markets closer to Indy.
