Wow! Really excellent. Went today for the first time and had lunch. Super friendly service at the counter. Ordered the tamale lunch with rice and beans, a mocha and a blueberry muffin. Even though they had a sizable lunch crowd, the food came out quickly and the servers were great. Delicious food and the mocha was awesome. Two thumbs up, will return for sure. What a gem for the town of Spencer. read more

I'm from out of town and a big coffee drinker and Main Street by far has my favorite latte and I grab one every time I visit. The staff is always so friendly and helpful and the reason I found this delicious drink after mentioning a few things I like and what would be something good to try. Even on the weekends the wait is still fast and it's such a welcoming atmosphere and cozy too if you want to dine in. Try the Peanut Butter Cup (iced with oat milk is my go to) next time or any of their amazing offerings. Thank you MSC staff read more

Everything was lovely! I had the carnitas bowl with Irish crème Iced coffee. The iced coffee was ok. It had more caffeine than sweet. The cartina bowl had guacamole/avocado, brown rice, tomatoes, lettuce, pulled pork, black beans, jalapeños. Legit and healthy. It was big too! Definitely satisfied. Kind of pricey though, but it was allot and I had a small bowl. This was my first time. It was packed and staff were extremely nice and informative on helping me what to get. Very clean, organized and decorative. Definitely coming back. Just wish it was more adorable lol read more

Main Street Coffee is a super cute coffee shop in the adorable town of Spencer, Indiana. I stopped here after hiking at McCormick's Creek State Park. Not only do they offer an extensive coffee menu, they also offer unique food items. I ordered an Iced Carmel Macchiato, which was a step above Starbucks. However what I am most excited about are the Tamales offered! They have Tamales Tues-Saturday and they are delicious and completely unexpected! There is also plenty of seating as well as some fun handmade items for sale. read more

Breath taking atmosphere! Adequate parking for its size. Very friendly and attentive staff. Delicious food and baked goods. I had a very young waitress who was very professional for her age! It is also a little shop as well. They have wifi and a variety of seating. If it allowed 10 stars, I'd have given Main St Coffee 10! Such a warm, friendly and inviting space with boho chic vibes. Family owned and you can tell by all of the personal touches from fantastic service to the thoughtful menu, it's all there. They offer a selection of lighter fare (soups/sandwiches) to a wide selection of coffee and non coffee beverages. Hours are typical coffeeshop (open until 3p) and are perfect for a spot to WFH. What a gorgeous gem in the heart of Spencer! I love the hometown but modern vibe, the decor is modern but a bit of country-super clean too! Lots of choices, very easy to pick from. I love the soup options too, perfect for a quick lunch. We had a meeting there in the front and the employees were so sweet to use, brought our drinks over and even chatted a bit. Felt very welcome. Yes, yes,YES! I visited and fell in love with Main Street Coffee 5 years ago,my only qualm at the time was there were no public bathrooms. 5 years later I have relocated to Indiana and had been watching through recent renovation and was thrilled to see they had reopened, finally I was able to come down from Indy when they were open. Worth the wait! Worth the drive! My new favorite coffee shop of anywhere I travel. I was charmed to learn this is a family business and a labor of love. I just love everything about this place. The coffee is rich and smooth and super aromatic. The coffee drinks are the best I've had because they don't taste laden with corn syrup and they are not too sweet, just perfect. I adore the overall aesthetic. Lots of living greenery placed in just the right nooks and areas. Beautiful hand wrought tables in the booths. Cozy and inviting but also great natural light in the main dining areas from huge windows. The decor is somehow both mysterious and last 2 centuries AND modern and hip and fun. As a bike enthusiast I love the antique bike flying lit overhead. My only want is, more breakfast selections during the week but I imagine this will come as folk learn about this wonderful place. The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, very clean, the coffee is spectacular. The bananas foster coffee is worth telling your friends about. Their food is far better than you'd expect from a coffee shop. Not sure if someone has a culinary degree back there, but the flavors of all the lunch entrees are balanced and truly divine. I've had their white chicken lasagna Chile, their tamales, a burrito of some sort, and their eggs in a hole. Everytime I eat here I leave saying "wow, they did it again; another incredible meal". This place is a real gem in downtown Spencer on the square! The best coffee (and flavored creamers WOO!) in town and they have an amazing lunch menu. Tamales are THE BEST as are ANY of their salads, soups, or paninis. I LOVE this place and highly recommend it to anyone local to Spencer or just passing through. What a fun surprise for this City Mouse from downtown Houston TX! Perfectly brewed cup of coffee (no mocha or other silliness for me), followed by a selection of huge damn tamales. Chewy and thick masa with a selection of fillings that any taqueria in Texas would be proud to serve. The S.O. had a fresh blueberry Belgian waffle, also cooked perfectly. Very.impressed. Awesome little place! We stopped in here on the way to hike at McCormick's Creek. The staff is extremely friendly, and it's a cozy little gem in Spencer. Sampling's of any coffee you want to try. Both the Sumatra and Trail Head were delicious. I tried the bacon cheddar egg in a hole sandwich with garlic mustard. It was awesome! You also couldn't go wrong with the peanut butter sweet cream sandwich either. The blueberry muffin was on point, too. I would definitely come back! read more

Wow what a great little addition to Spencer. We come to the park & rent cabins for a family gathering. I saw they had added this little place so we opted to leave the coffee pot at home. Hubster was very pleased with them & went in each morning to bring back coffee & scones. After others heard, he was bringing more than that back. ha but didn't mind... I am so excited Spencer has a place like this! My parents live nearby, so we stopped in while visiting. It reminds me of the cool establishments on Mass Ave in Indy. The atmosphere and decor are unique & quaint, very inviting. The food is awesome! We tried the carnitas bowl and a chicken tamale. Fresh, homemade, amazing flavors. They have several fresh, baked goods and hot & cold drinks. It's refreshing to have a local establishment serving fresh food. It beats the typical chain restaurant. I hope Spencer residents support this place so they can continue to expand and thrive. Ellettsville, Stinesville, & Bloomington folks - it is worth the drive! My girlfriend and I visited Main Street Cafe when we were camping at McCormicks creek. What we found was a gem! Initially, we purchased pastries and specialty coffee. All was delicious, but in addition the decor is amazing! The wooden herringbone floors, the live edge tables, the plants, and personal touches are perfect. The next day we took our husbands and had lunch. Our husbands were reluctant because they thought it was just a place for women They were as impressed as we were. They loved the tamales and beans and rice. We had the Belgian waffles and they were beautiful in presentation and taste. Really this place is the best coffee place I have ever been to. In the middle of the barren wasteland that is Spencer, Indiana is a wonderful hipster-vibe coffee shop. The area is warm and welcoming, and the owners are wonderful. They change their drip coffee menu daily, which is nice, too. It's one of my favorite coffee shops by far. read more

I was also very happy to find a rye beer with a more modest ABV as I like the spicy bitterness of rye beers but they tend to be more than I want after hiking around on a hot day. Service was great. This spot is a great option after a hike in the area, especially if you're cringing at the thought of navigating the student crowd in Bloomington but still want a good meal and beer. However....my mom was an excellent home cook - healthy, well-rounded meals that included some fried, some bacon fat, pies & cobblers & shortcakes. Chambers is all of that. It fills not just my stomach but my soul. Good old home cooking -- fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans with bacon fat, homemade bread, pan desserts. All I can eat. The place is clean. The staff is friendly & keeps the glasses filled. I don't feel rushed like I'm a mere commodity like so many Indy restaurants. My only request is that they rent cots in the parking lot for food-coma recovery. But it's worth it to me.

We tried a chocolate cruffin that was very nice and a couple of iced coffee drinks that were also good. Service was very friendly. It's located in a residential neighborhood so it feels kind of secluded and cozy. Well worth a visit.

I haven't had a bad cup yet, and I've had plenty. Bring money, but it's worth it. Competence should be rewarded.
