I didn't care for the taste, and I'm not sure if I made a bad selection or if the taste was off. The foam on top was an odd consistency and the bottom of the drink was gritty with coffee grinds. The concept is interesting, as they have a play area for kids with several tables nearby. Then they have a room with sliding doors to the side that is a quiet space. The space was wide open and nicely done, however it is so loud and all you can hear are the kids using the play space. The service wasn't particularly welcoming and I thought the pricing was high for the area. My medium drink was over $8. I can appreciate what they are trying to do, but I don't see myself returning.

I was expecting all kinds of cute coffeeshop vibes and you do get…read morethat, but they also have a pay to play space that's right in their main area of the building, next to the order counter. So it's kind of loud with kids running around everywhere. There are quiet spaces however I think the design is weird with having that play area close to the counter. You can't hear them call your name for drinks and it make waiting around awkward because they put the drink out at the counter directly across from the play area but if you don't had kids, you don't really want to wait down there. If I owned the building, I'd flip the spaces to have the play area on the other side of the door to the cafe and then people could have a more streamlined area for coffee. The artwork on the outside is adorable and attractive and changes based on the season. My drink was off the spring menu - I got an Irish Cream Chai and added an espresso shot. It was incredibly sweet. Much too sweet for my liking and I am pretty sure they used a store bought chai concentrate, which kind of bummed me out. Also, the cost for a large (with tip) was $12. That's pretty outrageous. Would I go here again? For sure. I just wouldn't get and extras or get the large because paying that much for a chai (that isn't even freshly brewed) in this economy is very much a luxury spend.

They even made a fancy design with the milk/froth on top but of course it ends up getting covered by the lid but I did appreciate the effort and attention to small things.

I've been to Rush Bowl a few times in Bloomington, and while they definitely give you generous…read moreportions, the quality doesn't quite match the quantity. Their açaí bowls taste more like ice, and the texture is hard and slushy rather than smooth and creamy. Compared to Smoothie King, which has softer, more flavorful bowls, Rush Bowl's version feels a bit watered down; you can't even taste the fruity flavors. Rush Bowl does let you add one topping of your choice, but that's it. At Smoothie King, you can't add extra toppings, but their bowls already come with well-chosen ones that complement the flavor perfectly. Overall, Rush Bowl gives you more in volume, but Smoothie King wins in taste, texture, and overall balance. Volume alone isn't worth it when it only tastes like ice.

It was so cute and cozy inside, perfect for having quality time or getting some work done. In terms of beverages, you can tell that they specialize in having a unique coffee selection, which I feel like is just not as common in today's run-of-the-mill society. I had the barista surprise me with a drink of her choice, and it was wonderful! I also love that they took the time to train and hang the barista's certifications behind the register - this just adds so much credibility to a small place like this and makes me want to support their business even more. Truly can't wait to return, despite the long drive! I also have to point out that this place was so incredible with my professionally trained service dog. I was able to come across one of the owners of the business during my time there, and they were so ecstatic to see a trained dog in their business. My wife ordered the Blue Lagoon Tea and I went with the Skittle Tea. My drink was refreshing, full of flavor and had the perfect amount of sweetness. My wife enjoyed her drink and had zero complaints. I was really impressed with our visit and am looking forward to returning.
